Yeah, exactly! That's a big part of what makes this strategy so easy :) We experimented a bit more with this in my video where we look at if you can beat the fire vellumental boss without attacking it!
Tip: With the Handaconda boss, the shape it's hand makes while you deal with the rings is supposed to be what it's "going" to choose, but instead if you pick what's strong against it, it'll pick what's strong against yours. for example, when I fought it, it made the scissors shape, so I knew it was going to choose paper instead, so I chose scissors. When you think about it, scissors is the easiest boss in this challenge. if you break the sheath immediately, he starts spamming final cut, but its the only truly dodgable attack in the game, so its possible to beat scissors without taking damage if you do that.

@@elephant35e Good job! Yeah, it's really RNG-dependent, it can go great or horribly, and a lot of it is based on luck. With other bosses, you can use the same strategy every time and it will always work if you do it right, but Tape is so luck-dependent D:
They should add 50 HP dialogue: Coloured Pencils: How are you that strong? That's such a funny idea 😂 There are a lot of parts of the game where there's dialogue that's similar to other parts but slightly different, so it would've been really cool to have a challenge mod where bosses can have different dialogue if you face them with different HP values!
CP: What? Is It Mario? The One Who Defeated The EV? RB: M-mario... I Have Got Entertained, I am the star, the lead actor, etc. What? Is it Mario? The one who defeated the WV? The more you do it, the easier it gets :) I struggled on a lot of bosses when I first tried them too. Some games are sooo good, and it is satisfying to get good at things after putting in some effort :D
@@addsterchallenger4779 Yeah, I'm going to keep making Paper Mario videos, but I'm also going to make videos about other games also :) I like testing what's possible with games and editing the code of a game to see what happens, I think it's really interesting to see!
I don't think that can be skipped, I think the only way to have 50 HP for the whole game is to edit the game's save data to reduce your HP to 50 after getting that heart
@Braelyn Sutton I have a very in-depth guide on that on my channel for anyone who's interested! I'll add it in my next comment in case RUclips filters it:
I've got an idea challenge: Is it posible to beat PM:TOK bosses without 1k fold arms? Rules: Cannot use 1k fold arms except to finish the boss (Ex. You can only use 1k fold arms to throw rubber band but can't for damaging purpose) You can use healing item You can use vellumentals
That's a cool idea :) I think it can be done, if you're allowed to use the 1000-fold-arms on bosses that need it to be defeated, like phase 2 of rubber band, finishing phase 1 of rubber band, and the fire vellumental
Thanks so much for the comment! It was really cool to see that every boss could be beat with 50 HP :D I very recently made a video where we try taking on every boss with only 10 HP if you're interested in more!
This man is making his own challenges because apparently the ones in the game aren't hard enough. Meanwhile, I'm playing the same boss eight times with 200 HP...
That's a really interesting idea! I think any% speedruns would try to do this and be as efficient as possible at this :) SRC has a section for Paper Mario: The Origami King, and some people have completed the whole game (any%) in about 7 hours
@@ZXMany Actually, if you tap the control stick for a split second and then put it back to neutral before Mario's foot hits the ground again, you move, but it doesn't count as a step. This would save a lot of steps, but it's certainly not making it into any speedruns.
@@epikitee2186 Oh my goodness, that's hilarious! I'll have to experiment with that. I'm not sure if the game counts footsteps until you get the footstep tracker that gives you coins because I have this value in a save game from a file that's early in the game: "footstep_count" : 0
@@ZXMany Yeah, gliding around on one leg and technically never walking is always great. I don't know why I always feel compelled to do it in every game I can, but I do.
I don't understand your strategy for the elastic entertainer. I always find a way to walk on 3 bumper bands, get the on switch and the 1000-fold arms in the inner ring on the first turn.
Yeah, there's a way to get all of the rubber bands and the on switch and the 1000-fold-arm panel, and that's what you'd do in a speedrun, but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get a heart every turn so I wanted to see if I could wear down the boss using a safe strategy (similar to what we do for the fire vellumental near the end in this challenge). When I noticed that I was getting lots of hearts, that's when I decided to go on the offensive instead of just playing it safe Hope that answers your question, thanks for the comment!
@@mailingcat i beat scissors first try as well, but didn't break the cover on the first round, but I had no idea you could use the Ice vellumental to freeze it, so the battle took longer than it should have
Great idea! I think 50 HP will be close to the minimum required because you can't avoid the rubber band attack at the start of phase 2, and Stapler was a pretty close fight 😂
I get why you hate the tape boss. I hate the boss because of the tape it leaves on the ring area. Once the tape stuck all four ring panels together, and I was just toast.
Awesome question, I love doing these kinds of experiments! I did some experimentation with this in my video where we test out POW Blocks on every boss, and it seems like the only thing that can defeat phase 2 of the Elastic Entertainer is the 1000-fold-arm attack. It's the same with finishing off phase 1 of the fight, it looks like you need the 1000-fold-arm attack to finish it off. The fire vellumental is also like this, I have a more in-depth video similarly that's focused on if we can beat the Fire Vellumental boss without attacking it :)
I think I've tried using the water vellumental and then items/ regular attacks and it still healed, but I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've tested this! I did some experimenting with this in my video where we test if we can beat the fire vellumental without attacking it :)
@@ZXMany Huh, I always fight it just hitting it with the Water Vellumental over and over until it's low enough to hit with the Arms. Maybe there's something else that affects it?
@@epikitee2186 I think if you use the WV on the FV, it has a certain number of turns before it heals, so if you keep using the WV, maybe it keeps resetting that counter so it never gets to heal. Just a theory, I haven't tested it out, but that would make sense and explain our results!

@@elephant35e Good job! Yeah, it's really RNG-dependent, it can go great or horribly, and a lot of it is based on luck. With other bosses, you can use the same strategy every time and it will always work if you do it right, but Tape is so luck-dependent D:
Terence Ross me to.
I thought of this idea a while ago and here you are!

You re welcome buddy, you re the best!

@@jankotopekmaniiil7918 Thanks for the feedback! Not everything is going to appeal to everybody, I hope you enjoy your time on the site :)
They should add 50 HP dialogue:
Coloured Pencils: How are you that strong? Or am I super easy-
Rubber band: M-mario...I didn’t realise it wasn’t supposed to end like this...50 HP without anything is a hardcore...**Death**
Hole punch: You dance like hardcore! I can’t dance tha-
Tape: *Oi!!! That is impossible! You were supposed to-*
Scissors: **Immediately falls over**
Stapler: **Breaks itself**
That's such a funny idea 😂 There are a lot of parts of the game where there's dialogue that's similar to other parts but slightly different, so it would've been really cool to have a challenge mod where bosses can have different dialogue if you face them with different HP values!
CP: What? Is It Mario? The One Who Defeated The EV?
RB: M-mario... I Have Got Entertained, I am the star, the lead actor, etc. What? Is it Mario? The one who defeated the WV?
HP: 50 hp is a tough challenge, make sure to, *ded*
Tape: OI! DAT HOITS, YOU ARE DOITY, I-I, eh, fuggedaboutit
Scissors: what? I AM GOING TO THE AIR VELLUMENTAL TUNDRA TO DEFEAT YOU, WHA- *ded*
Stapler: oh no! I hope you are teared apart, oh no- *ded*

@@Sogga_sam Exactly! 😂 Thanks so much for the comment!
I kinda wanted to do this with a new file, BUT it s impossible to skip the first hp+ ...
Yeah, I think the only way to do this is to edit the game's save files
@@ZXMany yeah I don t think there is a way by clipping into the ground, frame perfect jump... I tried a bit but wasn t able to skip it
I saw the smile on your face when rubber band said 50 hp is a tough challenge make sure to hit the like and subscribe button so you edited that part
this is so cool!!! those bosses are suck!!! and this video is cool!!!! ZXmany !!!!!! :)
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the comment!
You make these bosses look easy
When I play games I do decent though I do die a lot for example it took my like 8 tries to beat the rubber band boss
I would mostly struggle on the end part where he swings back and forth and then I rage
Now a days I can beat it easily
The more you do it, the easier it gets :) I struggled on a lot of bosses when I first tried them too. Some games are sooo good, and it is satisfying to get good at things after putting in some effort :D
Are you gonna talk about Super Mario 3D all stars cause it’s not available to buy after March 31 2021
@@addsterchallenger4779 Yeah, I'm going to keep making Paper Mario videos, but I'm also going to make videos about other games also :) I like testing what's possible with games and editing the code of a game to see what happens, I think it's really interesting to see!
How did you aboid the first 20 hp max up heart at the earth temple? It is on a narrow path and you are basically forced to get it.

That's fantastic 😂 I really appreciate that, thanks so much!
Ik if you want to do more videos you will get a green screen imo, becuase the background it's cool but it's better an green screen
Thanks for the comment! I'm thinking of getting one soon :)

OMG playing the low HP music from Pokemon would have been such a good idea here
ZXMany he’s referencing Paper Mario, not Pokemon.
I've got an idea challenge:
Is it posible to beat PM:TOK bosses without 1k fold arms?
Rules:
Cannot use 1k fold arms except to finish the boss (Ex. You can only use 1k fold arms to throw rubber band but can't for damaging purpose)
You can use healing item
You can use vellumentals
That's a cool idea :) I think it can be done, if you're allowed to use the 1000-fold-arms on bosses that need it to be defeated, like phase 2 of rubber band, finishing phase 1 of rubber band, and the fire vellumental
@@ZXMany Ys, of course you can :)
The like and subscribe thing for the rubber band man LOL
I’m loving the experimentation keep up the great vids
Glad you like them, thanks so much! More to come :D
Wow, Liked how this is planned to be doable in the first place!
Thanks so much for the comment! It was really cool to see that every boss could be beat with 50 HP :D I very recently made a video where we try taking on every boss with only 10 HP if you're interested in more!
Here's the video for anyone who's interested :D ruclips.net/video/MYS5rLts9ew/видео.html
This man is making his own challenges because apparently the ones in the game aren't hard enough. Meanwhile, I'm playing the same boss eight times with 200 HP...
7:03. WHAT DID U SAY!
I love your modding videos
Haha! “Turn” of events! Boss Sumo Bros.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!
Glad you get to see it now!
How on earth are you verified?
4:31 Ah, yes. rubber band definitely said that.
Fun fact, if you fail to block solo snapback you take 54 damage, which is an Insta kill for this challenge
In case tot have not noticed the reason the damage varies is that the back rows dont rake as much damage
Yeah, for the elastic bands, the damage you do and take depends on where you are!
You should do a least step challenge for you jump to move and when you get access to the step counter it will be easier
Or I could just do the chalenge
Real men fight Scissors without Vellumentals. Dodge every attack, like a man.
You only have to do dodge one scissors attack when you speedrun it :)
I love hearing you talk so passionately about hating tape 😂
For people struggling on the rubber band boss: if it's on low HP fire flowers can do a lot of damage and you don't have to use 1000 fold arms
ZX Manny When you make the blocks and you miss one jump when the boss is about to grab the rubber band for how much got around you
About the fire vellumental you were right about the thousand fold arms but not for the water vellumental
When I noticed that I was getting lots of hearts, that's when I decided to go on the offensive instead of just playing it safe
Hope that answers your question, thanks for the comment!
With all the pokemon references, they should rename it paper mario the pokemon king
*this man needs more subscribers*
I really appreciate that, thank you so much!
🤗
8:45 I did a challenge on PMOK, and you just make sure you fire a fire flower from the outer ring. You can do damage on both turns :)
What you said about the hole punch with just 1HP did the same thing about the fire vellumental
Tape seems pretty cool

"Everyone struggled more with the Stapler Boss rather than King Olly"
Me: I had no idea Stapler had golden staples, yet I still beat the game
I beat scissors first try, is that good?
I barely did any damage per round btw, and I broke the cover on the 1st round.
@@mailingcat i beat scissors first try as well, but didn't break the cover on the first round, but I had no idea you could use the Ice vellumental to freeze it, so the battle took longer than it should have

4:29 hahaha that was a good joke
Do a followup video on the minimum amount of HP required to beat the game!
Fact:when you don’t make all 3 blocks when it’s gonna do it’s strong attack press a and jump if you time it good you will not get hit
My 1st instinct when fighting scissors 1st: *HULK SMASH*
Can you check the defense of the one-man Rubber Band and see if you can actually kill it by doing enough damage?
Awesome question, I love doing these kinds of experiments! I did some experimentation with this in my video where we test out POW Blocks on every boss, and it seems like the only thing that can defeat phase 2 of the Elastic Entertainer is the 1000-fold-arm attack. It's the same with finishing off phase 1 of the fight, it looks like you need the 1000-fold-arm attack to finish it off.
The fire vellumental is also like this, I have a more in-depth video similarly that's focused on if we can beat the Fire Vellumental boss without attacking it :)
@@ZXMany Don't forget the Earth Vellumental's shell!
Challange idea 1 hp vs all bosses in paper mario the origami king
The Fire Vellumental actually doesn't heal unless you use the Arms on it, you can use the Water Vellumental power on it as much as you want.
