    If I had the resources, I'd like to make fiberglass molds of each of the body panels on that Celica, and build my own from the ground up, using the factory dimensions. Just a dream, but dreams can come true.😊

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад +2

      There's a company in Australia, ADM Retro Fibreglass, that does bonnets, guards, boots, bumpers and aero so its nearly there. Just need to do something about the main chassis & passenger cell. Not dealing with rust ever again would be sweeeeeeet.

  • @UntappedGarage
    @UntappedGarage 2 года назад +2

    In a case like that chassis, saving the good parts so another car can live on is the only answer. Nicely done on the quick turnaround and love the idea of the rear clip as wall decor - might have to do that with my parts car!

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  2 года назад

      Thanks - have a new tool that looks like it might help me save the rear end on VC right now, so hopefully that clip does end up as wall art.

    Wow so many parts still saveable on this car. Car wasn't even that bad. Especially now that kf vintage are making parts for these. Wild.

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад

      Yeah there was probably more i could have grabbed but i think i would have been lynched by neighbours before that happened. I got most of the good parts and especially the rear end and bumper, which will be used to save my RA23 that i have on the rotisserie at the moment.

    Sorry I'm so late guys I think I was looking forward to this one missed it when it was fresh. Watching now tho. 70s Celica are the best. Personally think it was salvageable but after what you took from it I see why you did what you did.

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад

      Yeah the rear end is really quite good so glad that's going to contribute to Violet Crumbles getting back on the road, definitely did not have the time to fix this one tho.

    Fun to watch cheers.

    Holly shit this wasn't a car that owned by a G Smith from vic, I found him dead in this exact type an color , he gassed himself and I turned the engine off, this was in year 94 or 95 , the car was swampy inside from exhausts condensation, inch deep on dash an parcel shelf , might explain rust in roof if it's same car

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад

      Wow, definitely a shame about G Smith, but nah this one sat outside near a salt lake in Merridin (super hot)for a long time and would have got water in it occasionally leading to the mold.
