Today we are starting a new series and this is video number 1! We have a 2j swapped 1977 celica and this thing is a beast! The plan is to do a full paint job/color change. Let me know what you think about the new project.

"I served 24 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. I retired this year and moved to florida to continue working in the aerospace industry.
I lived in Japan for 10 years and had some really fun cars over there, but I unfortunately never brought anything back with me.
I got into classic JDM cars because of my son. He wanted a 240Z for his first car... I got him a rough 280Z when he turned 14 and we built it into a really nice car.
After that I was hooked and found the Celica up in Arkansas, I traded a non-running xr400 for it."

Adam, I am so glad we decided to do this... this is the first time in a few years that the car has been away from me and I have never let anyone else work on the build. I know that you will do a killer job and it helps so much to be able to see the process.

Whats insane is I knew this guys son. The 280z his son has is super clean. I, along with some friends, hosted a car show on Barksdale AFB and his son came. Cant wait to see how this color change turns out. I know youll go crazy on it.
We are heading back up there to pick up a 1970 240z, I will have it on my trailer at the base hotel for a couple of days, probably around January 5th, if you see it parked, stop and check it out
I have been looking for one of these for years well one that will work for me so glad too see one of these
This will definelty be an interesting build series, always loved these 70s celica's and with a turbo 2jz it's quite the beast

I love this version of the celica 70s and with a 2jz in this is crazy the body work is the hardest thing to do on a car but I kn you will bring this body back to life 👌🏽 . Adam you have a wonderful Christmas 🎄 and a happy new year 🎉

Man, when I was a teen, I saw one of these abandoned in a garage. I asked about it.
Dude said his roommate left it behind. If I could get a title I could have it.
I had no means of owning a car at the time. Itt was in amazing shape.
He said something about it being painted in (IMRON?) White, the same paint used
on cement trucks. You wash it with acid, tough stuff!

This is so exciting as I will be able to follow this from start to finish unlike the Accord where I was a bit late to the party, you seem to be progressing well so far Adam.
I always admire anyone that can do the bodywork side of a respray which is something I really struggle with, I've done a bit of filler work but I always have problems getting the panel flat, maybe I'll learn some tips and tricks over the course of the build🤞👌👍John UK.

Back when those came out some may have been 4-cylinders but also some were 6. My buds dad bought a 77 brand new it was a strong 6-cylinder. I'm not being critical it could just be your accent but you are saying Celica like 'Silica' (sand) when it normally sounds more like celery. Love the project there are so so few of these left !!

I had a nice 2003 Toyota Celina Gts a couple years ago I parted out because the head blew and it had 260,000 miles. I wish now I never got rid of it because I wish I would have redone it and now I got a 01 chevy 5.3L ls I could have threw in it and man would that of been fast with some work.. I've regret parting it out..

For such a small car it’s gonna be a lot of work. Back in 95. I had to junk one because it was so much work.

I'm guessing Anthracite / Monkey $hit Brown (MSB) from the MKIV Supra. Or maybe the Royal Sapphire Blue from the MKIV Supra. Both of those were beautiful colors.
Damn I had a 76 celica GT whit a 22R swapped into it from an 88 Toyota truck man she ran like a scalded dog not as strong as a 2J but still nice

@@BodeVision It was a while ago...But Taylor made a video long time ago about how the replacement doors for the Miata did not match at all etc....Was not sure if there was some drama going on etc...My bad for bringing up the past...
I have a 78 VW Super Beetle Convertible, Champagne Edition, with an original fiberglass 1980 Creative Car Craft Super-Widebody kit (Fenders, Running boards, Testerrosa Sides), that's badly in need of a decent paint job. What would you charge to do this car? Would be a full respray in Africa Red, as the primer reacted with the basecoat and caused a large bit of topcoat to curl and flake off. I'm in Florida, about 30 mins from you.
