I’ve tried this drill before from your previous video. Hit several balls drilling then doing normal swing, my hit was really solid and consistently creating divot. I’m glad that this drill video come up again ❤

Have been super frustrated by my game lately, especially with my ball striking. Having just turned 62, I just could not get the velocity needed and tightening of the hips does not help either. Went to the range today with this video. After 20 or so balls with my hips open and my feet 45 degrees per the instruction, the feel totally came back. I also found that having a slightly open stance gives me the sensation of “ball first” and weight shift needed. Awesome stuff and thank you.

Wow Clay I am old guy that has struggled for years to rotate and open my hips so as to have a decent repeatable swing and ball striking. Well all I have accomplished is lower back problems and a upper teen Hcp . Your explanation and demonstration has been a revival to my golf play. This setup and swing has immensely improved my consistency and confidence. Actually with the lower trajectory ball flight with more fairway hits with more roll out my distance hasn’t changed much. So thank you for your lesson. I think you should develop and work this setup into your training program . This is not just a hip turning improvement tip.

9:12 There is a riddle in this alignment. I have the x factor of my swing working pretty good, but now getting my swing to coordinate the release has really open my eyes. Helped so much with my rhythm and timing. Thank you.

I started doing this years ago when chipping. I felt I had much more feel and adjusting my swing for distance was so much better. I talked myself
Out of it for a while based on the “if it was a good idea everyone would be doing it” approach. Yesterday at the range I started doing it again and it just feels so much better than the standard stance I’m going to stick with it for chips. As far as a drill I never thought of that. I’ll add it to my warm up routine to get that feel. Thanks.

Hi Clay, I took this drill into my practice, I worked very well lowering dynamic loft and hitting a ball then turf. However, it made my ball flight curve too much right to left. Do you have any drill that will help adjust the ball flight to be straighter while keeping the good things from this drill. As always, thx for a good content

Hi Clay, generally hit push draw to push on driver. Went to power fade by aim face a little left of target then opening left front foot about 25 degrees. I am 62 years old. I playing for fade or ball dropping more to right but many time just a good straight hit. For my iron and fairway wood, face at target with open left foot produces straight ball. It seems a little unorthodox but hitting ball well and consistent. Not looking for purity but reality of the shot. Any thoughts? Seems like I am preopening my hips .

Clay I stop at 170 yds….nonsense for me to hit the ball with a > stance with a 7 iron if…if I’m getting 170 yds.. 😹…but yes indeed it’s a simple easy to connect with this drill…Thanks

This is called the “stork drill” I think Tgm or some program lived by this drill. It’s great, but like anything else the “feel” leaves after a while. And the hands ahead like you suggest is a little radical and actually stops some from turning as they take the hands forward way to far into the follow thru.

To adapt this stance to a regular swing . Do two things
    1. Open your stance via pulling your lead foot 1-2inches away from the target line
    2. Flare your lead foot 1/4 turn towards the target
