Tim, your comments regarding the new RO 7121 movement having lower finishing standards than the 2121 are interesting. I assume this is for cost savings? Since Bennahmias became CEO in 2012 the production numbers of AP have increased more than any other previous era. He made it clear in interviews over the decade that he wanted to expand the reach of the company and increase profits. It appears his plan worked, but unfortunately at the expense of collectors.
The watch is perfect except for a glaring design flaw, which is a poor implementation of the week indicator. The week indicator obscures the fine details of the dial (like the moon phase) for weeks at a time. If they used a travelling week indicator then this watch would have been a 10/10.
@@adiands850 I couldn't visualize what you were describing but after seeing it, wow! That truly is the the superb way to indicate an outer ring like that. Thanks for showing me something new!

do you have an example of watch that has a travelling week indicator?
@@astonmartinman yes, the RW Smith Series 4 has a traveling date aperture. The same concept could be applied to the week complication.

My favorite RO
Cool but for $200k I’m buying two Lange’s
I like a watch whose "third hand" makes one rotation a minute--not one rotation a year.
I think the 15202BC.OO.1240BC.01 still wins.
TBH any 15202 wins in my opinion. All of the 41mm cases are missing the 'je ne sais quoi' that the original jumbo have.
@@johnriesling2207 Completely agree, it is the one Gérald Genta created after all.
Unfortunately, i need this😞
I want to not like that but...that's freakin' sweet!
I saw this price at 25+k at chrono24
That's welkins
Definitely not your run of the mill RO - thanks, Tim
