Absolute stunning watch. I think that AP has the nicest rose gold. This perpetual calendar in such a thin watch is very impressive. Each case and bracelet go through the longest detailed finishing of all the luxury watches. There just aren't enough of these to go around. Tho I would prefer a titanium version, a watch I could wear every day. Gold is a bit over the top for me, but it seems like everyone is being more comfortable in wearing gold. Probably because a lot of stainless steel watches are worth as much if not more.
I see that you have on two watches. I sometimes do that and people think something is wrong with me. I just like wearing a watch on each wrist sometimes.
Nope. The natural resources used to create that amount to a couple of hundred bucks. It's worth about $3,000 tops. It's also tacky. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing an AP.
a single troy oz of gold is worth $1930. That's just over 30g of gold. This watch weighs in at 254g, at 18kt gold. Even at a basic estimate, there could be up to 5oz of gold, which would make the raw materials of nearly $10k. The amount of time to hand build this watch, takes over 20x more than a Rolex day-date. AP does not sell this watch at $300k. It's that they can't make enough of them to go around that people don't mind paying more for one. A daytona in steel with almost NO finishing at all in the movement, is trading at nearly 60k. The raw materials in that certainly don't come up to $200.

The design is very beautiful, very evocative with the moon phase. But with all AP Royal Oaks, it's entirely too large (for me) to wear on my wrist, even with the smallest diameter available. It would look very fetching as a table clock, I wish AP had an option like that for the Royal Oak
Neat watch and entertaining review, but I gots questions about that 'smaller apartment' business. $300,000 USD buys a HUGE house here in town and/or a nice place out in horse (cattle) country here in the Ozarks. Can. not. quite. wrap. my. head. around. it.
Hi Jenni. Great vid. I have a few watches I rotate every week and have to reset them. What are ur thoughts on a watch winder? I read the could damage the watch. Thanks and look forward to hearing ur input.
A non related question. I mainly love mechanical watches but why are there so few, if any, smooth sweep second hand quartz watches when these are plentiful and cheaply available in clocks?
Great video Jenni! I'll agree with you that the watch looks great. Though it's a beautiful watch to be sure, I have to say that I will probably not spend my money on this watch (should I be able to afford it) 😅😅😅 I've always found the Royal Oak and Nautilus too clunky and industrial looking... It's just not my cup of tea😅 But horses for courses am I right?
I have to disagree with the premise of this video, and I don't think you explained your title very well. If I'm trying to justify the price of the Royal Oak QP, the obvious comp reference is the VC 4300V, which you can get on a full RG bracelet for well under $200k. Similar movement, similar finishing, similar size, similar history.
@@DM-rc4yu "We'll under $200k" means it's $100k less than the "worth every penny" watch that Jenni is selling. By "history", I'm just trying to describe that it's not a "me too" watch like the Piguet Polo. It's a well established piece that's just as relevant as the AP.
Absolutely beautiful, with space travel becoming more common I can see this becoming a great tool for keeping track of time, at home (in a breathtaking way;). Love!
20 meters is 65 feet . certainly fine for showers and swimming. No one is swimming deeper than 65 feet unless they're diving or pro free divers, let's be realistic. If the watch can't handle it its rating, then it's simply dog shit. Why can Grand Seiko kick the shit out of an AP if it's dropped? Because Like ROLEX, AP is an old company that preys on new money. These companies need to be held to a hire standard and not just for dumb new money and peasants wanting to borrow for a video review.

The design is very beautiful, very evocative with the moon phase. But with all AP Royal Oaks, it's entirely too large (for me) to wear on my wrist, even with the smallest diameter available. It would look very fetching as a table clock, I wish AP had an option like that for the Royal Oak
Three hundreds dollars for a RO?!?!? Sign me up!
Neat watch and entertaining review, but I gots questions about that 'smaller apartment' business. $300,000 USD buys a HUGE house here in town and/or a nice place out in horse (cattle) country here in the Ozarks. Can. not. quite. wrap. my. head. around. it.
Very small studio flat in London/Paris/NY/Tokyo
Hi Jenni. Great vid. I have a few watches I rotate every week and have to reset them. What are ur thoughts on a watch winder? I read the could damage the watch. Thanks and look forward to hearing ur input.
Ptro Royal Oak, nothing new under the sun....
A non related question. I mainly love mechanical watches but why are there so few, if any, smooth sweep second hand quartz watches when these are plentiful and cheaply available in clocks?
Buy a gaudy Invicta and you can be like the rich folks
Great video Jenni! I'll agree with you that the watch looks great. Though it's a beautiful watch to be sure, I have to say that I will probably not spend my money on this watch (should I be able to afford it) 😅😅😅
I've always found the Royal Oak and Nautilus too clunky and industrial looking... It's just not my cup of tea😅 But horses for courses am I right?
Thank you very much! Liked, subscribed and shared. My absolute favorite RUclips channel by far. This watch looks too flashy and 70’s for me
Hi Jenni,
Great video, more frequent would be nice.
Btw the “Screws” are actually bolts!
Stay well.
I saw a guy wearing one of these in Chicago a few days ago and let out an audible 'woooo'.
ooooh I feel sooooo much even more poorer now watching this lol
20m water resistance?????
You are surprised that a 300k watch is only 9 mm? WTF!!
Hideous design, but that is again subjective.
Great close up videography.
Well under $200k. As if it's some kind of a bargain lol. History? It's a fucking watch, made right now.
Honestly, a watch like that should have a complication for the seconds. The rest is just perfect
Absolutely beautiful, with space travel becoming more common I can see this becoming a great tool for keeping track of time, at home (in a breathtaking way;). Love!
It's not even the first day of April !
It's not even the first day of April !
And the maintenance costs half an apartment
Nice to see, but too busy, and no dot between 31 & 1?
The macros in this video are incredible 👏 great job guys!
Super Video

WATER RESISTANCE is a joke.
Great work! Would love to see more such work. Beautiful watch, but a minute would have been enough. Hype brand increasingly turn me off. I like Swiss and German luxury that mere millionaires can buy.
If you happen to run a drug cartel it might be a good way of hiding your cash for a while, but thats about it , its a tour de force of watchmaking but just gaudy , if you happen to be a successful rapper it could be right up your alley
Waaauuu!!😲😲 A really, really masterpiece ✌️✌️😎
$300,000 and not in any way better than Casio GM-S2100PG-1A4ER
Nice watch. Beauty Jenni ❤️
Not really a lover of gold watches. Like the design though which is admittedly appearing to be dated. This watch does absolutely nothing for me in the long run though.
