Everyone watching this is seeing them. Everyone that googles "NYC Empty during Coronavirus lockdown" sees them. Contracts are signed and agreed to for advertising. You can't just decide to turn them off.
Yeah true. At this stage we need to save money on everything we could.
Actually at times like these, those adverts can serve as some sort of a moral boost, kinda like saying that even though the roads are empty, doesn't mean that the city loses its charm or liveliness. It can give hope to people that better days are coming and they just need to hold on.

Good to see New Yorkers obeying the stay home order. This will flatten the infection curve in two weeks and begin the curve downward.

This is actually not true. There were farmer Markets open, people at parks, playing pick up games, there are still a lot people outside. It's reduced but there are still 1000s of people outside.

NY and London are so a like it's so surreal, i'm from London and we're doing the exact same thing NY has just done, it's so quiet in London, no is walking, talking, taking pictures or standinfg around, the only people out there in the city London are the key workers that are essential to the british economy and also the british health workers fighting against covid 19.

My friend who is Asian got pulled over for speeding and whe. He said the cop walking towards his window he started coughing violently and told the officer he was on his way to the hospital. He said the cop didnt even ask for his license and said to hurry up and get there and offered an escort. True story here in CA

Taking the train to work during rush hour is almost unbelievable. It hasn't felt that empty since the day after 9/11 and even then it wasn't as unsettling to be outside as this.

I want to say about time...but the virus already spread too much around the world already. Stay safe and clean, people.
It was around since Fall 2019. The action taking place right now is a bit too late. We ALL have the symptoms one way or another but not everyone's immune system is prepared to combat this virus. The end result is the unfortunate reality.
The whole world should do a lockdown for a month once every four years.

Wel at least by the looks of it people seem to be obeying to the lockdown in NY particularly when it comes to the limited public transport unlike here in London where it holds literally half of all UK cases yet the tubes are still absolutely packed!Its a total disgrace.I’m based in another state-Kent-isolated by my own still doing my bit but I have the feeling that all my efforts are going to be in vain when the vast majority in the capital is simply selfishly ignoring the lockdown.Cant express my frustration enough...

I would like to say to people young and old not to be scared. There's a possibility most of us will have symptoms. I'm preparing myself for it to strike. My father already got extra cold and flu medicines just in case. To most it will be flu like with coughing, fevers and muscle aches. If your breathing is short or feeling difficult then consult your doctor or medical provider asap. Strange to say this but I am going through this with everyone that's reading my comment. Stay strong.
