For easy potions, get the hopping pot spell craft from tomes and scrolls! You can place 3 max in your room of requirement and it will brew a random potion in 12-15 minutes and all you have to do is collect it from the hopping pot. This means you do not have to worry a whole lot about collecting resources, and you can instead focus your time on story, combat, Merlin trials, challenges, and other puzzles and exploration in Hogwarts Legacy.
#13 - Spending too much time in Spring. Follow the advice in this video for sure (do your assignments for the teachers, unlock the Merlin puzzles as you run into them, etc) but don’t spend too long exploring in that first season. The reason is, a lot of things open up for you once the season changes and avoiding the Main Story for too long will prevent you from unlocking some stuff you absolutely will want. #14 - Ignoring spellcrafts Sucks to have a single potion pot when you need to make a bunch of potions, so buy that triple potion spellcraft and put down 2. Better than having 6 single potion tables lined up. But most importantly don’t forget to go back and get more spellcrafts as you go along. Larger pots, potion tables, and new RoR tools are right there for the purchasing. Remember, every plant can be planted in a large pot so spend your money on those instead of medium ones. #15 - Using the Hogwarts Map While Hogwarts is absolutely astounding, the sheer intricacy of its design makes any map of fast travel locations a nightmare. Stop rotating that thing and just click on the flags of the area you want to go to and chose the fast travel location from the list instead. Every mission refers to where you need to go and that fast travel list is much easier to navigate. #16 - Reading comments when you should be playing the game.
I found that just by throwing out some of the chomping cabbages that they take care of the spiders. Even the very big ones. I chuck them at the spiders, and just watch them die LOL
Some other tips. 1. Do combos as it produces the blue balls that u need to pick up to power your ancient magic meter 2. Turn off the camera when flying huge difference 3. Do the side missions especially the ones with Sebastian to get the cool dark arts spells 4. Always ask for more money in the side missions
Adding for PC users: When using alohamora, you can HEAR when the lock has been spun to the right position. If you go past it, then go back slowly until you hear it again.

Very helpful insight. Thanks for making these videos. PS: I wouldn't pick the revelio talent as it is a quality of life feature and not a combat upgrade. With the limited points that we have and the missing option to respec, I would rather pick something to aid me in combat, I don't mind moving left and right more and cast it more than once as required. Chances are, if it's a big room, I would still need to cast it more than once as the glow will disappear after a while. Also while choosing my talents I like to choose features that would work in parallel in combat and not those that I would choose one over the other: for example, I would choose the upgrade for my fav spells and those I use consistently in a solid rotation, I would not pick upgrades for the situational spells that I may only use in niche situations, and I would pick the talents for my fav potions and plants as they work in parallel with my main combat rotation and not making me choose "this or that". I find Swift being the most essential of all the talents as I can blitz my way around the room with no CD or consumption of any sort avoiding attacks that without it would be very hard to avoid, even impossible. And it's always fun blitzing in the middle of the opponent group and blasting them with an upgraded incendio and then blitzing out of it.
Ha nice argument on conserving talent point. Interestingly, I end up dropping Blitz because I play a stealth build. I love pulling enemy from a long distance, freeze and backstabs them. The cabbage is only good for troll.
Revelio is awesome, but increasing the range is absolutely a waste of a talent point. Putting in just a tiny bit more leg work accomplishes the same result. Plus, so many places are narrow enough that the extended range is overkill.
Finally, an actually useful "mistakes/tips" video. The merlin trials I've been ignoring just because I was having difficulties figuring out one of them, but you actually showed it here lol. The rest should be common sense, but this is the first vid I've seen with useful info. 👍

Some enemies can be one shotted with certain spells or combinations, as an example, the Dugbog, if you lift its tungoe with leviosa and then use the cut spell it will take massive damage and die instantly. If you use the pushing spell (depaso?) On charging wolf's they will die immediately and so on.
If you go to story mode, there’s a auto solve for the locked doors so no mini game and it also allows you to capture animals instantly. No more running around and freezing them.
I loooooove this feature. Every game needs this. This game exceeded my expectations. I wear the dark arts gear with a hood on and the white mask you find in the library 📚
The programmer in me smiled when the animals puzzle turned out to be 0-indexed. However I didn't notice that they correspond to the number of things sticking out from them xD
To add onto the Arithmancy doors: the triangle with one question mark is always even and the two question marks are odd. Now it’s even easier to solve because the numbers you’re looking for are always one even number and one odd number. 0-8 and 1-9 are all we have to work with so this just makes it trivial 12+3+?=21 is 6 | 12+2+??=21 is 7 Why did they make the one with 2 question marks the odd numbers? Because fuck us, that’s why!
Litterally the only person on youtube that CLEARLY shows the change appearence option, ive watched others and they just zip through the menu and call it a tutorial expecting you to know what they pressed. thank you for making that clear as you could.

You can cheese boss like trolls with the mind control curse imperio, you cast it on them, then turn invisible and you can spam petrificus totalus(the sneak attack)
I know this isn't a elden ring video but if you could please maybe make a black knife ER build that would be awesome, not sure how early you can get it but it would still be awesome to have a build based around the night of the black knives, thanks for the awesome builds.

I really enjoy the way everything in chests and drops are randomized loot drops. I rarely have the same cosmetics for one character and other characters. I wish the challenge unlocks where full gear sets but different for each playthrough
Tip: Don't waste a talent point on Revelio Mastery. Just get on your broom, use it, and get a bigger Revelio than what mastery offers, saving you a talent point.
I wish we didn’t have a lvl cap. It would be awesome if we got XP for defeating enemies. I’m frustrated that you have to do literally everything to reach lvl 40. And even then you won’t be able to unlock all talents

Huge Harry Potter fan, been watching different channels and styles of play. Am I the only one who finds it intimidating, my god the map is huge, the amount of spells, the rooms. I mean not to complain that a game is too big lol but I can see myself getting frustrated very quickly.
Only mistake I made in this game was during my first playthrough during the fight against Ranrok, I didn’t have enough health potions and it was challenging to defeat him when I had nothing to keep me alive
I understand why it was implimented, but I find the thought of witches and wizards in the wizarding world dodge-rolling to be very funny. I didn't know Harry and the gang to be that nimble. The image of Harry dodge rolling to avoid spells or dangerous attacks is just hilarious to me. It is a necessary mechanic in fast combat for sure. The animations look amazing as well. Also, I imagine it would be much harder to attend Hogwarts if one of the requirements was knowing how to dodge roll. /joking
I just rewatched the movies recently and there is a surprising amount of dodging stuff that the characters do. Maybe not full video-game-like dodge rolls, but dodging nonetheless.
Harry and the gang definitely jumped out of the way of spells, but besides they fumbled their way to victory by Divine Fate and Dumbledore. We are a motherfucking powerful beasts lol. - Doc
I love this game! I will complain on one thing. Revelio on flying mounts... It's too much. It shows beast areas and floo points way too far out. I would have preferred having to discover the points on foot first.
My tip: Don't avoid the main story for too long! Side quests and exploring are cool and all, but if you spend too much time doing that you burn out faster. The game really feels lonely like that, and i got so much exp from doing all the side things every fight became trivial...
In the Talents i would as must have also given the one that makes you invunerable with a potion and shoots back the spells automatic. you dont even flinch when a Troll hints you.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure when you unlock talents at level 5, it gives you all five talent points to spend. So you still get a total of 40 talent points.
Can you do a video on "Things you can skip"? Sometimes, it seems like these types of games add random Bullshyt that have nearly Zero to do with your game progression. - Case in point: 1) If I have all Golden gear at lvl 30ish, a Ton of the random "Treasure Vaults" give me shyt gear that doesn't help in any way because I already have 30+k gold and the Best gear I can have at a point. 2) All the Field Guide Pages that Ding when you've already completed the challenges. They're just random Bullshyt that No One reads, or cares about. But they Ding whenever you're close, as if you're missing something important. It just seems like the Devs are like "Hey! Waste your time doing this random Bullshyt that has Literally no bearing on your progression or power level".

I just can't believe I'm already level 28 and I mustve missed the directions on how to open up those chests with the eyeballs. I have been waiting for some kind of story or quest to tell me how to open them this whole time. Had no idea it was just a need for stealth mode. I assume a character does tell you this information at some point in the game and I missed it because I have no idea how else people found this out. It's only after watching a couple of youtube videos like this have I finally learned. Ah well, better late than never.
Why do I need to keep other gear in my inventory other than what I'm equipped, I destroy any other gear I find and every 5 level I go up I find a new set of legendary gear and upgrade them max then so on after the next 5 lvl so there no incentive to keep other gear in my inventory especially non legendary, if I'm wrong about doing this let me know, that's why I don't do the merlin challenge
I agree with everything EXCEPT the reward claiming thing. The rewards are frankly speaking, underwhelming if not outright shit (with sole exception of the meriln trial and spider slayer rewards).
Lots of people like cosmetics. Upgrading your ancient magic meter also requires claiming rewards. Lots of people are trying to 100% complete the game which requires these rewards. How are the spider rewards better than any other? Most people go for offensive traits rather than defensive ones.
4:42 I do wish Hogwarts change the colour of completed areas, like turn the Icon green to show that you done it, I have went back to the same camp multiple times because I thought I haven't done it. only to show up on my mini map there was a tick on it, unfortunately it doesn't show the tick on the icons besides the mini map and on the big map hence why I always go back to the same ******* camp

FYI Talents do NOT UNLOCK at level 5 its quest based as i was level 11 / 15 in both my runs before i got my talents
Yup I unlocked at level 17 lolol so I had 12 talent points to spend and it was pretty great

You can also use petrificus totallus on enemies that are frozen during combat by using Glacius on them first then approaching them.
I knew about half of this but the locked door puzzles explanation was the biggest help to me. Epic vids and thanks for all the tips.

But story mode also makes the combat too easy. Just install a mod that skips the alohomora mini game.

I always have 25 healing posions
the merlin lit the cauldron trial is absolutely easy if you hit it with Aressto Momentum after lighting the cauldron with the blasting curse

Tip #1 - change difficulty to story mode. You can autosolve alohomoras, catch beasts with single button, combat becomes easier, no downsides.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure when you unlock talents at level 5, it gives you all five talent points to spend. So you still get a total of 40 talent points.
There will be pc mods soon to give all talents so no one should be worried to much lol
Can you do a video on "Things you can skip"? Sometimes, it seems like these types of games add random Bullshyt that have nearly Zero to do with your game progression.
- Case in point: 1) If I have all Golden gear at lvl 30ish, a Ton of the random "Treasure Vaults" give me shyt gear that doesn't help in any way because I already have 30+k gold and the Best gear I can have at a point.
2) All the Field Guide Pages that Ding when you've already completed the challenges. They're just random Bullshyt that No One reads, or cares about. But they Ding whenever you're close, as if you're missing something important.
It just seems like the Devs are like "Hey! Waste your time doing this random Bullshyt that has Literally no bearing on your progression or power level".
Speak for yourself, I definitely read them all, I want all the information I can get!

There is about 262 based on the in-game count, and unfortunately only some of those have text to read, the rest are just busy work I agree. But otherwise it's lore and book references for a world people are interested in, dunno why it's so hard to understand that some people enjoy it.

I just can't believe I'm already level 28 and I mustve missed the directions on how to open up those chests with the eyeballs. I have been waiting for some kind of story or quest to tell me how to open them this whole time. Had no idea it was just a need for stealth mode. I assume a character does tell you this information at some point in the game and I missed it because I have no idea how else people found this out. It's only after watching a couple of youtube videos like this have I finally learned. Ah well, better late than never.
The quest Mine's Eye should give you the clue to opening them.

Why do I need to keep other gear in my inventory other than what I'm equipped, I destroy any other gear I find and every 5 level I go up I find a new set of legendary gear and upgrade them max then so on after the next 5 lvl so there no incentive to keep other gear in my inventory especially non legendary, if I'm wrong about doing this let me know, that's why I don't do the merlin challenge

I agree with everything EXCEPT the reward claiming thing. The rewards are frankly speaking, underwhelming if not outright shit (with sole exception of the meriln trial and spider slayer rewards).
Lots of people like cosmetics. Upgrading your ancient magic meter also requires claiming rewards. Lots of people are trying to 100% complete the game which requires these rewards. How are the spider rewards better than any other? Most people go for offensive traits rather than defensive ones.

4:42 I do wish Hogwarts change the colour of completed areas, like turn the Icon green to show that you done it, I have went back to the same camp multiple times because I thought I haven't done it. only to show up on my mini map there was a tick on it,
unfortunately it doesn't show the tick on the icons besides the mini map and on the big map hence why I always go back to the same ******* camp

Talents unlock as part of the main questline so just keep proceeding with that and you'll get them. Impossible to miss.
Stealth is mostly pointless, even on the hardest difficulty, the game is easy peasy
