- for those of you that wanted to know more about Laz's story. it's not a happy one
an animatic about my minecraft OCs, Laz and Tripp. Ft. my friend Mythimna's character, Dragonblood.
note: events shown are not consecutive, there are many huge time skips

hello thank you so much for all the kind comments :] i'm really glad people are enjoying my tragic OCs.
here's a summary of the events in the video, to make the story more comprehendible!
this is just a quick summary, the story itself and why characters do certain things has a lot more depth than this that I may explore more in the future, but for now this just a brief description of what's going on
0:08 Laz, with his natural strength and ability to protect his expanding empire, is made king along with his husband, Tripp.
0:20 Laz and Tripp have a relatively normal, domestic life until they are attacked by another empire. Laz is a repeated assassination target. Laz receives a letter that his empire is on the brink of war.
0:28 To avoid putting Tripp in danger, Laz decides the two of them should separate, and Laz should leave to be on the frontlines of the war. Tripp clearly doesn't agree. When Laz tries to leave, the two get into a fight, and Laz loses control of his fire magic, burning Tripp.
0:44 A while later, Laz is returning for a yearly visit. However, an out-of-control supersoldier named Dragonblood attacks their home and fatally injures Tripp in the process.
1:55 In his grief-fueled rage, Laz fights Dragonblood, and loses.

the scene with tripp bleeding was so sad that even i started to cry
this looks amazing the desighn of the dragon blood is flawless

this is FUCKING SLAYING. i felt so many emotions. love ur anatomy and style and the way you create such seamless expressions with only the eyes and detail around them is just ohenomenal
The story and character designs are phenomenal. Always love myself a good character design with wings. And the way you animate even if it’s just a few frames, like the fighting and the walking 1:18 at is just literal eye candy, it’s so expressive even with the few frames it uses
I dont really understand the history of your characters but the art and the animation is nice and it perfectly fits with the song, btw the characters reming me to a Skeppy and Bad!
I think the story is in the descrpiption, and these two charactes are based of skeppy and bad, they arent them tho

I love how when its an extremely depressing moment it changes from the calm blue gray to a reddish brown. I love this animation so much, wonderful job!

WHAT. the emotions compared with the climax of the music and the scene where they yell in to the sky genuinely HURT and i know nothing about the characters dude this is SICK i audibly gasped at the end just this is the coolest thing ever ur anatomy is so good
This is SO good!! I absolutely love all the character designs and the way the story progresses! Also, very flawless transitions, really drives the animatic further and makes it super intense!!
im inlove with the way the camera pans at 1:29 especially with the zoom out at 1:42, you drew the perspectives and expressions so well i keep replaying it

THIS IS SO WELL DONE???? THE EFFECTS LIKE THE EXPLOSION AND THE BLOOD HAVE SUCH GOOD TIMING?? (Like. you did the "flash, BANG" thing really well and we don't see most of the blood actually falling) A perfect blend of things being sketchy and finished at the same time, wow!!
If you don't mind me asking, what brush did you use for this? I don't have Clip Studio but the texture of it is really nice :0c

the brush i use is the design pencil, it used to be a default brush but unfortunately was removed from recent versions of CS. however you can still download it from the CS Assets for free

The way you draw your characters is just so... satisfying to look at

i usually dont like watching pmvs/animatics but your style and way of storytelling is so eye catching! loved this ^__^
90% of all songs on my spotify playlist are all from animations such as these, and I probably wouldn't have liked this song if I just heard it on it's own, however, now that I relate it to a dramatic story with two husbands, it's gonna be thrown onto the playlist man.

Question/ are these characters based or are they Skeppy and Bbh? If so this is a crazy story you have made with them and I LOVE IT! I am a sucker for heart felt emotion. Even if the heart felt emotion is sadness, I just love the emotion!
yes ! they are indeed very heavily based on bad and skeppy's dsmp characters. and thank you a lot for the feedback, illustrating emotion is my main goal when it comes to my art !
