    Matt,
    One of the most appealing parts of your video’s is you are catching a lot of fish, quality fish yet you typically only have 2 maybe 3 setups in the boat. You don’t need 45 combo’s on board to catch fish like a lot of folks on RUclips. You keep it simple. If you are changing baits you do so like the rest of us. Cut the line and retie. I look forward to the next one. Someone suggested a gear review. It would be nice to see your rods/reels, favorite baits and a kayak walk thru. This makes for great wintertime entertainment and for a lot of us winter is “Retail Therapy” time (Big T Davis). We may get some ideas for our next TW order.

At least that is how it seems to be years ago on the lower stretches of the lake just above the dam. Without divulging your many honey-holes on this lake are you fishing north of Ashtabula? North of Sibley? Norlth of Karnack? The slow water and the shallow depths make me think your are plying hte waters both downstream and upstream from Karnack. Msg me if you wish. • @ndyakangler
      @ndyakangler  3 года назад

      I haven’t put anything that light together as far as casting setups. Under the right circumstances I might be able to get a few bass in on one though. Brian, I live in the area, and it is hard to beat the Red Lake River from St. Hillaire to Red Lake Falls, MN. This is an extremely beautiful, fairly clear, gravely bottom, full of rapids and holes, type of river. It is loaded with Smallmouth and walleyes. There are good maps of where to put in a canoe or kayak. Best of luck to your son. Fishing is always best when the river is not too high. Lastly, the fishing pressure is extremely low so he should enjoy it.

      I’ve mentioned locations in a few videos. In situations like this where it’s a big lake far from dense population I don’t mind letting everyone know where I am.

    so is it never too cold for topwater? or did you just try it out for fun and it happened to work that day?

      This is from June, the lake has been covered in ice for about two months now. Once the water temp drops below 52 degrees the topwater bite shuts off.

      @@ndyakangler makes way more sense i was thrown off because im in western PA and we froze over but then thawed and had 70 degree temps this weekend so the timing of it made it seem plausible.

      It can be hit or miss for me there, I can usually find some nice ones roaming the weeds around any points. I think this year was a little tough with the low water level, the fish didn’t seem to be in their usual spots.
