I've used this curry mix for some time now and if i say it myself i make a fantastic chinese curry with Mayflower mix i add water chestnuts and bamboo shoots ...i make up batches for my three sons ....keeps them happy 😊😊
really fantastic. I've tried to make Chinese chicken curry dozens of times over the last 10yrs, and while I've had a few decent batches, I've never produced anything that's close to rivaling a Chinese restaurant. I've now followed this recipe about 4 times in the last 3 weeks, and it's fantastic - it absolutely rivals my local Chinese and is far less expensive (and rewarding) to do it yourself. I'm a Brit living in the US and we don't have the Mayflower curry, but I've found the S&B Golden Japanese curry mixes found in the US to be a perfect alternative. Thanks so much for posting this!
They have it on Amazon.
Anazing basic recepie i followed and it made it exactly the same as the takeaway thank you so much! Im never paying for a takeaway chicken curry again.
Why has this guy not made any more videos? He made that look super easy and REALLY tasty!
Wow never ever have I been impressed by a homemade curry. But everyone of my family ate it ,and said it tasted excactly like a takeaway, and i agree.Got mine from farm foods, and it was the best 89 pence i ever spent.Thank you
Just made this for the first time& followed exactly as video..( I did add some sliced mushroom though) It turned out fantastic.. Just like a takeaway you woul buy.. Would never have thought about poaching the chicken in the water first, before adding to wok..
I worked out measurements for ingredients for a single serving as I live on my own and it was the perfect amount..
90gr chicken
1/2 small onion
2 mushrooms, sliced
1/8 cup peas
28gr Mayflower mix
150ml cold water...
I hope this may help if you are cooking for one...
Thanks for a great informative video..

I use mayflower curry sauce mix, and it's GREAT. They sell it in Icelands, and BAndM, people try it your love it.
I'll have to give it a try...thanks! x
Looks delicious. I'll look out for this! Thanks for sharing x
I love the medium Mayflower mix, when its nearly cooked, stiring in a squeeze of honey takes to another level 😋
@Daniel Millward I never thought about coconut, have to try that too!
I used to work there...and made tons of that curry powder...i know the shit that goes into it...i don't touch it
@@Skooty68 So you claim you worked there, you then searched for Mayflower Curry, just so that you could post that you claimed you worked there and claim that you know what goes into the powder.
2024 and I still love this chicken curry recipe.
Thankyou. Can't wait to try it this way.
omggggg,,,followed this recipe..cost £1.00 for mayflower got 4 uses,bag of rice 50p,5 uses,a chicken from tesco(slow boil it for stock for another meal) 2.49 4 uses,onion and mushrooms,i,d say 15p...worth it xx

@jasonxcheong2009 I'm 27, Kin is my father, you can probably guess roughly how old he is from that. I'm behind the camera for this video directing as best I can.
Is it true that you make an Indian curry also a hot and spicy sauce
I just love curres.
Thank you Love from Cyprus
I have to try it, it's my favourite food ever, thanks for a tutorial ;)
Outstanding. My favourite meal.
It's the best curry sauce mix ever!
Having this for tea tonite 😋😋
So glad I found this. O didn't know how to get the chicken and onion just right and now I do 😁
Hi, thanks for that, how to cook the chicken properly is exactly what I needed to know, so far I’ve only done Katsu, but looking forward to trying this, I use Goldfish curry paste, it seems pretty authentic.
looks nice!
Looked delicious.
ive just used used ur sauce mix and made a chicken curry just like its done in the video. what can i say? absolutly fantastic! i used to order this dish from my local takeaway as it was my favourate and this tastes exactly the same. as i love cooking and chinese food too ill def be doing this one again. thankyou
I've been making this for a while now using this curry powder.
Use pre-cooked, diced chicken instead though, saves time.
Makes a lot of meals for a cheap price and tastes great. You've just got to measure the curry powder well because there's a fine line between too much and too little making it either to thick or thin.
Also it has the chicken curry recipe on the back of the box which is great.
I buy 1.2kg bags of cooked frozen chicken in Farmfoods, bags of frozen peas and frozen sliced mushrooms. Nothing ever goes off and gets thrown away and you can make Chinese chicken curry in minutes whenever you choose, for something like £1.50 / $2 US :)
I made this this evening by following the video and it turned out really nice! I didnt think about rice till about half way through though :D but it all worked out. thanks for uploading
As soon a§ I saw this video I ordered 2 packs off mayflower curry sauce extra hot and I love how it taste, literally the same as my local chinese... And I add the pea's and onions, aswell as mushrooms and some cut up chilli for more heat as I wouldn't say its extra hot, and its yummy, oh and nice clear vid :) Thanks
Very nice and tasty looking yum yum brilliant video for a novice like me belfast northern ireland
Hello !,just made this super dish,I added mushrooms cos I had some spare, bloody good tucker ! I served mine with boiled rice and microwaved poppadoms, ate some froze some for later.Brill.
The best i have ever used for over 15 years perfect every time even sell in Cyprus which is great
Well made Video. Thx.
I have this every week .....kids don't like it but I do and does my.lunch at work for the next few days!
Yum, food of the gods!
Looks great, and not too difficult.
I do like some diced green pepper in mine, sauteed with the onion so its still crunchy.
fabulous
WOW, I Must give that a Try. 😃😃😃
Still the best curry sauce for home use I love it
@EdMahoney19 Ive never tried using the garam masala wouldnt it be better with a curry powder ?. Also 2 tb of turmeric would be very strong , ill try that and a chicken stock cube anyhow. Do you use flour to thicken the sauce ?
Thanks very much for your support.
Kin Fong
thank you chef
The best chicken curry. My wife loves it.
Delicious 😋
Big fan of chinese curry
I go for the chicken, king prawn, mushroom ,onion & peas combo.
HI i recently saw a beef chinese curry made by mayflower is this king asia as i have never seen this curry before in a supermarket
Is this curry sauce better than Maysan? I have used Maysan for years..and i love it but it is not that easy to get hold of but... i can get mayflower from 10 minutes away...
@H2T2008 In our video we prepare enough for 2 people using:
half an onion
1 large chicken breast
a few of tablespoons of Mayflower Curry Sauce Mix (more will make it thicker)
2 cups of water
Try also substituting chicken for beef or adding mushrooms or a handful of frozen peas. They all taste great and you won't be disappointed.
WOW that curry sauce is so nice the same as in the takeaway
Thank you
i have tried slight adjustments? i sometimes add a small amount of chicken soup. and also a spoon of Barbeque sauce? from a squeeze bottle? you can try it to see if its better. i'm not sure about the peas. Not found any peas in my takeout yet.
Yeungs curry powder is nice too folks. You can get in Asda or online
Omg 😲 made this and it was just like the chinese takeaway we have ,not buying one again 😊😊
Gorgeous you make it look so very easy which it is but I use a blender as I already put to much in I prefer the extra hot add some reaper curry powder or the chilli powder just a tiny bit to give it more of a kick but doesn't take the taste of this curry mix I have been buying for about 20 odd years now have 4 boxes in the cupboard in fact I think I might just go and make one lol 😂😂😂yip I'm having it now thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
i used this unknown curry-looking unlabeled bottle that was stored in my mother's spice rack... and... then i added curry paste by lee kee kum or something and it was amazing! LOL.. but cooked the ingredients separately and added it to my curry soup.. XD ... everything was improvised and i managed to make curry!! lol. i went to my bf's bestfriends condo n he had a spice rack. i had to make up the taste because i didn't know what was in curry... but i ended up making the curry bloody excellent!
Mayflower curry sauce is delicious. Don't know if you invented it, but if you did, many thanks.
How do you make the Red Style Curry?
I much prefer it as it has a bit more ‘kick’ to it.
Can’t find a video on it.
How do I make up the curry powder mix??
For a quid a box it is very cheap and tasty. Just like the chinese. I live by it.
Cant beat it!
When would you suggest adding mushrooms?
How's best to cook them before going in 🤔
Good video
What oil do you use
I dont realy like the mayflower one but u have made it look delicious i prefer restaurant quality xx
Dear Sir/Madam; I am interested in buying your Mayflower Sauce Mix . I would like to know if you ship to The Netherlands.
Thank you
can't beat it :D
Dinaclass & yeungs are nice as well.
Hi how much cold water please for 2 people looks delicious 😋
Mayflower is nice, but I always add a pinch each of five spice, MSG, salt, and a small dash of light soy sauce (Pearl River or LKK).
I find it better to add the mayflower powder dry and stir fry for a minute, and then add liquid, try it 👌🏻
@doh1959 Monosodium glutamate, also known as sodium glutamate and MSG - Often stated on packets as Flavour Enhancer.
can some please list the recipe the Chinese Chicken Curry for me thanks
Hi, Just wanted to ask why you boil up the chicken first ? Thanks
+Marian Lyons It makes the chicken very soft and not the stringy way it gets when it's fried, chinese restaurants always boil their chicken, then they fry it for taste in other dishes,
@doh1959 I know what you mean , ive looked around online for an authentic chinese curry sauce like the takeaway. Fact is that no ones going to display a great money making recipe lol.
Mayflower and Maysan are as close as ive bought, but there also full of hydrogenated veg oil (highly fatty).
You can make a half decent one using madras powder and flour, then you can add various other things like ginger, pepper and turmeric to taste.
I read that a chinese takeout curry has 100 grams of fat.
how do you make steam curry chicken with onions and green onions
Kool
Looks lush , I make it with mushrooms and sometimes dice a green pepper never peas though .
If you like it sweeter or fruity you could try a small handful of raisins, chunky cut carrots or even some fresh chunks of orange peel (cook the peel in the sauce and remove before serving).
Pineapple chunks too, lovely.
Where can your Mayflower Curry Sauce be bought in the United States?
Is Mayflower curry sauce gluten free?
Not sure is any of you folks agree with me but i like doing this recipe slightly different, i like to marinade my chicken for a day with a little oil and Chinese 5 spice and wok fry the meat rather than boil it, i also add a finely sliced chilli if i want a wee kick.
I think that would help, chicken theses days is so blah.
who doesn't enjoy a good curry eh?, especially one that done so simple.
Thumbs Up If Your Staaaarving!
Don't forget the MSG for that real Chinese taste
Mayflower curry sauce powder is delicious, even extra hot is not spicy enough, so I add a good shake of chilli flakes and also season with dark soy sauce - try it!
@doh1959 I'm afraid you won't get the secret from us, but you can get this fantastic Mayflower Curry Sauce Mix in medium and extra hot at our website
yo the secrets out cheers
Gold fish curry paste..much nicer and more authentic 😊👍
@tom68camaro no i think the recipe must be buried in a vault in bejing .its got star anise in it to give it that special taste thats all i know sos
💖💖💖👍😊
hi chef what oil did you use and more importantly what is the name of the curry powder please. thank you chef, looks lovely
Sunflower oil. The name is Mayflower curry sauce mix
Surely the title of the video gives it away? I use three brands, Mayflower, Maysan and Goldfish, all readily available here in the UK and cheap as chips!
Can I ask you, why did you boil the chicken? is that why the chicken melts in your mouth when you get it from a takeaway? Ive always fried it might give it a try boiling it.
You have to, ake with chi cken stock not water 😊to optimize
work it out!.
@EdMahoney19 oh my god the chinese triads will not be pleased with you but i am very pleased THANK YOU LOL
Why is it the chicken is boiled again?
Just google Mayflower Curry Sauce
You will see it available in UK
just about to cook it for the first time.....brb

@@terryoconnor5262 nearest thing to a Chinese take away I ever had.I make it regular now
