      The Honda HT3813 uses an inline 2 cilinder engine just like a car. It has a beefy clutch just like a car with and it is shaft drive. The axles from the wheels are pretty big. It was made from 1985 to 1989. They used proper materials for this tractor. I also have this same one and it is really powerful with counter-weights and some mud tires.

    Instead of throwing away those other tires for the skid steer...

    FYI - when you are hooking up the safety chains on trailer hitches, iit's a good idea to cross them under the hitch before you hook them up. That way if for some reason the hitch disconnects from the ball while you are driving, it will fall on the crossed chains and not dig into the ground/pavement/road.

    Coulda had an MTD 998 for the cost of one of them honestly i hve 4 998s and 3 996s they one of either would make a joke out of that i bet but then again thats about half their size impressive overall in the future though if i where you id get a 996 or 998 as they are better for pulling and heavier built

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 лет назад +2

      Your comparing an MTD tractor to a Honda? The Honda has an actual frame with a shaft driven transaxle, and liquid cooling. A MTD is just sheet metal screwed together with sheet metal screws. Belt driven CVT transaxle, with a cheap air cooled motor. There's really no comparison between those two mowers. I was doing mower repair for a couple years before doing excavation. I still have one MTD around because it was fast in reverse and did a good job cleaning up leaves.

    Looks like it’s a bit much for the trailer too judging by how the wheels are leaning

    If you had more weight in the front of the lawn tractor it could have pulled I think

    Car tires are good for 5 years. After that it expires. Don’t know how long tractor tires are good in time.

    Why even try using the mower when you had a tractor?

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 лет назад +7

      Well I had been using the mower for moving the fire wood around. That time the trailer was loaded too heavy. If I had just used the tractor in the first place, there wouldn't be a video here.

      I operate a New Holland 2120 (same generation big brother of his ford) some times and it does the same exact thing, same with our much larger Ford 445c.
      All the older tractors I've used seem to roll like that when they are running, even with the parking break, unless you just serviced it. It's good practice to put the loader on the ground as a break, even drop the 3 point if your on a hill.

    I had my tires foam filled at a tire shop it's cheaper than new rims and tires

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 лет назад +2

      How much was it? I have never been able to get that done, no one local does it. One time I drove an hour to have a tire done, they wanted a ton of money, and when I got there they said the rims were too rusty and wouldn't do it.

      Andrew Camarata I had my tractors tires foam filled and it was roughly 1500 bucks. I have 13.9 - 24 and 8 - 16 tires. Yours are probably a little different but that gives you a ballpark.

    got a bit of a random idea thinking about this, why not just make a front wheel drive tractor? somewhat like a forklift that is built for tugging heavy loads? like pulling cars out of the woods or dragging logs or scrap to a pile
