    Four men went golfing together one day; three headed to the first tee and one went into the club house to take care of the bill.
    The three men started talking, bragging about their sons. The first man told the others, "My son is a home builder and he's so successful that he gave a friend a new home - for free."
    The second man said, "My son was a car salesman and now he owns a multi-line dealership. He's so successful that he gave a friend two Cadillacs."
    The third man, not wanting to be outdone bragged, "My son is a stock broker and he's doing so well that he gave his friend an entire stock portfolio."
    The fourth man joined them on the tee after a few minutes of taking care of business. The first man mentioned, "We were just talking about our sons. How is yours doing?" The fourth man replied, "Well, my son is gay. I'm not totally thrilled about it, but he must be good. His last three boyfriends gave him a house, two cars, and a stock portfolio."

I was shocked by the way i made contact, considering that i have not played in 10 years.I shared the tip with one of the other golfers at the driving range as he was struggling, and it immediately helped him as well. He spontaneously mentioned that his contact is much better. Great tip, keep it up!!!

      Perhaps you understand why 'opening and closing' the club face is required in the golf swing. Why can't the swing at 3:38-3:29 work the same way? I'm just a beginner at Golf.

    • @79basicinstinct
      @79basicinstinct 8 лет назад

      Hi L Duranceau. Could you elaborate? Not sure if I'm interpreting your question correctly here. Note that the 'opening' and 'closing' of the club face happens through body rotation and not through a movement of the hand (wrist). Let me know if that answers your question. If not, please clarify and I'll happy to provide insight if I can.

    • @lduranceau8046
      @lduranceau8046 7 лет назад

      My swing looks more like 1:56 - 1:59. The club goes back in a straight line and through the ball in a straight line. Why won't this work? You both say it won't work, but why not? At 1:56 - 1:59, the hands don't open and close.

    really great instruction guys! so many people think of the golf swing as a simple one dimensional motion that starts and stops in the arms. but the golf swing is a very involved motion that utilizes the entire body by building up and releasing tension much like a spring. learning that can be very confusing and hard to conceptualize, but you guys really laid out the fundamentals in an easy to understand way.

    I am just learning and after 1 trip to the driving range I was frustrated and made the exact mistake described here. I tried to keep the club straight in the plane to hit it straight. I was all over the place. I tried this concept or should I say ESSENTIAL fundamental with wiffle golf balls, then real ones and like the example just piddly 20 -30 yards slowly increasing the power checking my form making sure when I applied more power I keep the open and close face properly across the plane. Greatful I saw this video after only 1 trip to range before I developed bad habbits. My results appying these tips was NIGHT/DAY! Not only did I hit the ball much straighter - when I applied power in proper form I had great results and am getting 180-200 yards of solid straight shots. I still can develope more power but taking my time. THANKS GUYS! Cheers

    I gotta say I really enjoy these streamlined tutorials. Great video work and great instruction, gentlemen. I started experimenting this year with opening the club face about half way into my back swing beginning slowly while keeping my head as still as possible and have had amazing results at the range, especially with my hybrids, hitting each club about 20 yards longer. They fly fast and straight. It really takes some focus and patience as I've brought it to the course since a few times and have shanked a good amount of early strokes forcing me to switch back to keeping the club face more square but not completely square the remainder of the rounds. Could just be nerves? This tutorial really makes sense. Time to practice more of this!

  • @jdevlin55

    I've been playing for over 15 years and have paid for a lot of lessons (25 HCP). In fact, I just finished a 3 day golf school costing $1,200. What the instructors could never figure out was that mentally i pictured hitting straight down the target line which resulted in a host of problems. That's why I cast the club. That's why I flip the club. That's why my backswing is longer than John Daly. My 3 day school only made the situation worse. So I went online and came across this video. If I could go back 15 years, the concept of this video is all i would try to master. Taking the club from square to open to close position requires you to rotate around your body as opposed to hitting down straight through. For advanced golfers this may be obvious but for many of us who play recreational golf, we try to hit the ball from the top using our arms, hands, etc. We flip the club because our body isn't moving in one piece. That's because physically we don't understand the golf swing is centrifugal and not vertical.
    What a great video.

    I watched this video about a month ago. I am the guy who's been playing for years and thought the club had to go straight back until this video. All summer I shot in the 100s and was happy if I hit a 99. I followed this one drill and my next 4 rounds were 98, 96, 92 and 92. Thank you and i will follow more

    thanks fellas. This is the correct thing to have in ones mind when understanding how the swing works. My problem is I keep changing my swing or adding to my swing and have done that for the past 54 years. Of course, I have worked on my swing for 54 years and I guess it has given me something to do. But what you'all are teaching is really all one needs to know and to practice. Toe up - toe up. Thanks a lot. Allen

I was having so much trouble with my irons hitting short fat and sliced all at the same time. After religiously studying your tips for weeks , today I hit every iron shot pure and hit my irons 20 yards longer or more(for example old 5 iron 180, today 210 consistently) and with a draw! The improvement has been breathtaking. Thanks so much from New York
