Started with GTA 5 then Batman Arkham Trilogy and now I’m having my first playthrough of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. On a smaller screen many older games still look very nice and feel playable.
The absolute best thing i saw in the previews for dd2, is a wait command for the pawns, after just beating bbi for the first time 2 days ago and yesterday doing daimon phase 2, holy shit it was so frustrating having your pawns run at him while hes doing the vortex or if you managed to get them to follow you behind a broken pillar so they couldnt get sucked in theyd start wandering around it and get sucked in, i just hope the wait command doesnt have a range to it where they stop waiting without you telling them too
Finding this series was one of my greatest discoveries.. It may even be the very best of the modern fantasy ARPG.. Although it has some very stiff competition in Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age & Kingdoms of Amalur
I tried it today and its fun it feels like baldurs gate 3 and skyrim had a kid that grew up to just be average. And i noticed one of the pawns had the same voice as a merchant in skyrim
I've recently started playing Dragon's Dogma and so far it has been enjoyable though not without its shortcomings. The menu system is clunky, the pawn system leaves a lot left to be desired, and other quality aspects have dragged it down for me but hope to get through and hope to see DD2 improve or rework. Other than my gripes, there's so much potential for DD2 and future sequels that can do what many games haven't captured.
Idk which class i will start as, i feel like Mage is op as always, but Assasin or Ranger will be maybe rlly cool I hope they kept a lot of Skills of part 1
What put me off the game was the ridiculous Save game system. Also the switching camera angles in battles, esp as one of your companions pulled off magic, special move, counter move ...which happened fairly often in battles causing the camera to switch to that character then back to you. There was also no lock 🔐 m system in battles making battles very confusing especially in indoor aras. The stamina system was all wrong and unfair. And annoying no stop chatter in battles repeating the same thing. This actually became really annoying and tedious as you had 3 NPC doing this.

@@lutherheggs451It's like night and day for me. I had recently gotten a decent GPU in hopes that it'd ensure I'd have a smooth time with DD2. Unfortunately, that aged like milk. There is clearly a problem with your eyes if you think LMFAO DD1 looks better than 2 or runs better especially considering neither massive open world game runs spectacularly....Anyone expecting 60fps out of a massive open world game might just be mentally deficient
@lutherheggs451 wrong
@@lutherheggs451It's like night and day for me. I had recently gotten a decent GPU in hopes that it'd ensure I'd have a smooth time with DD2. Unfortunately, that aged like milk. The fucking CPU bottleneck made that pointless. Continues to run at 40-60 fps OUTSIDE of cities REGARDLESS of graphics settings. 🫤
Meanwhile, hilariously enough, DD1 runs almost constantly at 144 fps with EVERYTHING at MAX (very rarely dipping to 100). That cheered me up. 😊
Don't know why you're ragging on a 12 year old game's story. It's a good story. I swear everyone who brings it up acts like it should be held to today's standards. It's 12 years old and back then it blew me away.
Hate how they changed leveling up in the new game it's pointless now
I Wish i could play Dd1, but unfortunately the steam release is literally unplayable. However, I loved the concepts and am excited for DD2
Why is the steam release unplayable? Asking since I'm just starting my playthrough now on steam

Steam release is completely fine for me.
First!
