Best saltwater vids on RUclips just wish there were more lol keep it up Zeno I'm learning alot from you thanks
Exactly on point! Growing up I learned same thing from older experienced true fishermen. And after fifty years of fishing with my twin brother, we still remind each other not to throw something you have no confidence in. And funny thing is we both throw different shit, and both do well. Brilliance Zeno! Thanks
Brilliant absolutely brilliant, it’s like a wake up call slap round the face . Amazing lesson thank you..
Love what you do, thanks from U K
Lots of wisdom here.
I have been a fly fishing guide for most of my life now. Fished and tied flies with most of the greats.
In that world we preach "size, shape and color" prioritized in that order.
After years of fishing everything from hidden creeks to hallowed water I have decided that selectivity that requires that level of attention is EXCEEDINGLY rare.
We celebrate when we find it because then we really get to play the game.
By the way...a trick I learned along the way is to always tie a few flies in the same pattern as the hatch, but a size smaller and black.
If the fish is truly that color selective and we have missed by a shade it can be a game changer.
ALL COLORS SILHOUETTE TO SHADES OF GREY OR BLACK.
Your comments on light belly, dark top are really important too.
Andre Puyans used to preach:
We are not trying to imitate life so much as give the impression of life.
Confidence?
I once watched Chris Smith follow a group of sophisticated anglers on the Ranch Section of Henry's Fork. He plucked every fish they missed using a size 16 yellow humpy,(super generic) during the Western Green Drake hatch, arguably one of the most demanding places and times to fish in the world.
Hope you don't mind the long comment but your tutorial is extremely applicable regardless of technique or species.
By the way I fish surf more than anything these days. Love this channel!
Zeno - you are The Man. I started out just watching your videos when they popped up relating to a subject I was looking for. The more I watch though, the more addicted I'm getting. This one is the best yet - informative, passionate, and really funny. It looks like there's a whole bunch for me to catch up on too. Way to go. Many thanks. Raymondo
Ps. Even though I'm familiar with the New York accent (sorry I should have mentioned that I'm in Wales, in the U.K.), you get me sometimes with your pronunciation. For the first few videos I watched I couldn't figure out why you kept talking about your daughter's??? Of course it all came clear when I watch your show on 'darters'. Stay cool pal.
I like this intro more then the older ones the music is better suited. Keep em coming Zeno I enjoy them.
Thanks! Here in Texas your tips has improved my Fishing!
Damn I remember a bluefish blitz in GS Bay when I was a kid, middle of summer too.
Thank you for the lesson!
Love your vids !
Another great video keep them coming. PS I’ll take luck over skill any day lol
I don’t care about color, I only care about the profile, and the pattern(example:mackerel pattern) great video!
Did anyone fish the blitz on north bar this sunday?
Nice video.
One more subscribed.
Regards from Brazil
;)
awesome
is super strike out of yellows DARTAAAAAA yet? lol, love it Zeno keep those vids coming...
It seems like yellow darter is the northern version of a gotcha plug in fl
Color makes a big difference. I was already out on a jetty 100 guys lined up everyone was throwing bombers. Only one guy was catching he was throwing chrome. Everyone switched to chrome and everyone started catching.
Tony Amato thank you ! I’m not the only one
Depends on the day though
Does anyone know what happened to Zeno
I am still alive 😂
@@zenohromin8771 im glad
i loved watching your videos. i go back from time to time just sharpen the skills. are yu still making videos? by any chance are you going to the jersey expo?
@@mikemerc74 No, doing podcasts now...we will go to Asbury show but not expo
@@zenohromin8771 👍
@@zenohromin8771 I heard you were last spotted swimming in the sea looking for pallets of olive oil
Apparently the lures catch more fishermen.😉😉😉
Zeno '90% of the shit that you throw is confidence'
Yup
Years ago l was fishing under the light l was getting tap but not strike l throw everything in my bag same story and l had white north bar bottle plug l was getting fish every cast .next day l stop by Paulie’s he ask me how did l do l told him all story .next day all white lures was sold.and this happen in new moon.
the color isnt to catch the fish its there to catch you
If they stopped making darters I think Zeno might have to check himself into a mental institution lol
The top of a topwater plug does not matter in my opinion
Non sense !! On the fact that color doesn’t matter i have to completely disagree color makes a huge difference on most nights.
The blue fish are gone from all the commercial boys killing hundreds of them daily
