I agree with most of this. I stick to the colors that I have always had the most success with. So I don't focus much on color beyond that. If fish are not hitting my lure it is most likely due to other factors.

sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone
I always have good luck with anything white. Top water or at the bottom.
Anything with white and pink or white with brownish colors. Or even purple.
I fish in southern NJ beaches where the water is not so clear like the Delaware bay or around capemay area.
Yellow is also a hood color for me

How can you tell what fish are running during various times of the year? Is it a calendar or something to refer to? The reason I ask is because I want to know which lure or live bait to use and which fish to target. I don’t want to waste time targeting the wrong fish if it’s not running during that time of the year. Please explain.
