the record company fought her they hated the video she wanted to do but she did it LOL with small compromise green eyeshadow instead of red as she wanted
@P Ivan Sanchez , No not really, any good record shop will have something, and a lot of good companys on line, also try Out of time records, Norwich, Norfolk. England, the owner Mr Eric White, is very good, i also buy from him, and have had no problems
I was today years old when I discovered this song. I was playing all Pat Benetar and this one came on. I'm like...where has this song been hiding all of my life? I suffer from it too. I've got to make a playlist!
This is one of those few and far between perfect albums. You listed to it start to finish and want more. You replay it again, and find it new again. Yet, STILL wait for more at the end. I have listened to this album on loop for months at a time and it never gets old. Thank you, Pat. Truly timeless.
Was just telling this to my daughter today. I don't know how many times I listened to this album when it hit the shelves. Still love and remember every song
I turned 2 shortly before this song came out and I didn't know existed until about 15 minutes ago. Makes me wish I had been old enough to fully immerse myself in the culture at the time. This is peak 80s and I love it.
I fell in love with Pat from the first time I saw her in concert to the present. Still love her today. Your a lucky man Neil. And a great guitar player. Bless you both and thank you for all of your great music.
This was the look that she wanted on the record cover that her label fought against. Thing is, as pretty as she always has been, I think she looks drop dead gorgeous in this clip!
As a now 44 year old woman who knows anxiety all too well, this song describes the feelings well. I wonder if PB ever suffered with it? She always looked and sounded cool to me as a young girl.
winogirlll Her husband, Neil Geraldo, and someone else wrote the song. As a matter of fact, Neil Geraldo pretty much writes and composes all of her songs.
i think people with depression or anxiety are kinda cute, because you don't know what their struggles are until you ask and if they tell you. i'm just an unknown bot hiding behind the keyboard. i remain anonymous. :D
I agree. Seldom aired but from the first time I saw it I fell in love with it. Cute video with an adorable Pat who is obviously afraid of the dentist. Oh. I love her with her teased up hair...
This song and video are awesome! ... I've just discovered Pat, and she really is an amazing person with a great voice. This tune has great lyrics, vocals, and the music is perfect. It also feels really fresh and not old at all. Definitely an 80s classic, and Pat deserves more recognition.
I saw this video on MTV sometime between 1982 and 1983 when I was 5 or 6 years old. I saw it one time but it stuck with me. Despite extensive research I could never identify the video until a Facebook group helped me figure it out yesterday. It’s exactly as I remembered from 40 plus years ago.
This song communicates perfectly the raw energy of New Wave when it first came out & how vastly different it was from the traditional forms of pre-1980's rock music.
OMG, I just happened to stumble across this! I completely forgot about this underrated song and video (guess it comes with age) 😂. As a child of the 80's, this freakin awesome!
i dont remember this video. to this day all my fave bands are female fronted. mostly in the alternative rock genres but in my very young days i fondly remember pat benatar being one of my faves.
Great song and great vid. As mentioned already in comments below the excellent drummer from Pat's band, Myron Grombacher (what a name for a drummer) is the mad dentist. Pretty sure the kid at the end is Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Way back when I first listened to this track I didn't have much of a clue about what it was about. Now decades later I realise just how spot on this song is. Anxiety and depression are like a ten ton weight that have ruined my life and that of those around me.
When this song came out I thought to myself I hope I never experience that. I jinxed myself, got my first panic attack at 15 followed by anxiety 😔. I'm in my forties now and I'm able to manage it.
This is the definition of a music video being fun. This is why I love the 80's
anxiety is not fun..plus there is a lot of 80s music that is not fun
@@cibriosis "spoils all the fun'.
Come on, I take anti-anxiety meds and I think this is fun. Your lack of sense of humor doesn't mean no one has one.
@@VintageCardinal that person is a creep!
the record company fought her they hated the video she wanted to do but she did it LOL with small compromise green eyeshadow instead of red as she wanted
Such a shame, Pat Benatar, has NEVER had the airplay she so richly deserves, thank God for my cassettes & Viynl, I can listen Anytime
Or, you know, digital formats. Like we're watching now.
Because she didn't use
Sex As A Weapon.
@P Ivan Sanchez , No not really, any good record shop will have something, and a lot of good companys on line, also try Out of time records, Norwich, Norfolk. England, the owner Mr Eric White, is very good, i also buy from him, and have had no problems
Ooii
Seriously, she was massive in the 80s "never had airplay" she had plenty
I suffer from anxiety and this song is like a medicine for me. It describes exactly what it is. Pat and Neil are legends.
I do to but I hate it rather make music and smoke weed
Yeah, same. I think it's the way she sounds desperate when describing the symptoms, but calm when describing the effects. It's really soothing.
Me too...the symptoms are rough.
I was today years old when I discovered this song. I was playing all Pat Benetar and this one came on. I'm like...where has this song been hiding all of my life? I suffer from it too. I've got to make a playlist!
This song is Literally how I have been before...I suffer from it too and that's how bad it's gotten for me

You're so right.
The Album is Pure Wine 🍷
2020 and still sounds amazing especially on Vynl! !
still my favorite album by her
Was just telling this to my daughter today. I don't know how many times I listened to this album when it hit the shelves. Still love and remember every song
2022 and its still in our ears...love it!

One of the most iconic guitar gallops of the 80s.
THE QUEEN OF ROCK IS STILL REIGNING
I freaking love Pat Benatar, she is in my opinion A Rock & Roll Legend!
Ty

Nothing funny about panic attacks. They have obviously never had one to joke about it but the song does describe the symptoms well.
Pat Benatar has quite a few songs about human psychology. ( this one & 'don't use sex as a weapon' etc)
i think people with depression or anxiety are kinda cute, because you don't know what their struggles are until you ask and if they tell you. i'm just an unknown bot hiding behind the keyboard. i remain anonymous. :D
Me to! Anxiety sucks! I deal with it everyday!
I'm getting over menopause and have panic attacks occasionally. This song describes it.
Right there with ya
I am too & listening to this song helps me through the anxiety. That's why I am listening to it now. 😅
Back in the 1980's and part of the 1990's when MTV still showed music videos 24/7, I still RARELY saw this video, and it's a great one at that!!
I agree. Seldom aired but from the first time I saw it I fell in love with it. Cute video with an adorable Pat who is obviously afraid of the dentist. Oh. I love her with her teased up hair...
A very underrated PB song!
Paul Bordelon very!
PB? okay......
Story of my life!!
One of the best off the album 🖤
Cain Smale Could be why they picked it as the title track.
SHE WRECKED IT.. mic OWNED.. one of the best female vox

For years, whenever I started a new job somewhere,
I would always play this song on my car stereo
while driving to my first day at work...
Yea I know the feeling
Stress
Love this entire album
It's a perfect album and you never want it to end. I could leave it running for months in my car, and I have; tapes, then cd's, and now Spotify.
i love the 80's music!!!!
This song communicates perfectly the raw energy of New Wave when it first came out & how vastly different it was from the traditional forms of pre-1980's rock music.
I have all PB albums but get nervous is played as much today as I played it back then. Same vinyl too and still sounds amazing. Timeless.
Love it.
Hey i just saw Peter Dinklage!
Binge- listening

Pat Benatar tonight!
Won't be the first or the last.
I evidently watched this video before but watching it at 420 cracks me up! Love it! Lots of childhood memories with this album!

Pat can fill my cavities any day
Nice
Lol Alvin and the chipmunks brought me here 😂
Get Nervous most underrated album of the 80s
One of her best songs ever!
I was 12 when this album was released and I've always loved this song. I didn't quite understand the lyrics though as I do now as an adult.
Happy Birthday today(January 10) to Pat Benatar. Cheers!
I was so excited when I found out we share a birthday! She was my idol growing up❤️❤️❤️
this song rings so true for me as i suffer anxiety/panic disorder..she knows how i feel awesome woman
Me too

This song is an eternal mood
what kind?

Queen of Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Okay, who's going to play the crazy dentist?" (everyone immediately looks at Grombacher)
lmao
One of the greatest rock drummers of all time!
Has anyone ever seen him and Danny Elfman in the same room?
Isn't it the drummer or at least thats what pat says on the commentary for the music video
One of my fave Pat vids lol.
I suffer from anxiety, and this song describes it well!
Good music video 👍
pat rules !!!!
Thank goodness for RUclips! Another great 80s video I never saw back in 80s
I'm so happy for her finally in the hall
As someone with a major fear of dentists this is by far one of the most frightening music videos ever made.
Right now this song hits home more then ever :(

The QUEEN of Rock IS STILL REIGNING

Pat Benatar is such an amazing girl! This was a change of style!
Plus she was hot
@@jamesmurray3082 well, duh!
Great song and great vid. As mentioned already in comments below the excellent drummer from Pat's band, Myron Grombacher (what a name for a drummer) is the mad dentist. Pretty sure the kid at the end is Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Pat ! Je vous adore ! Je vous ai déjà touchée ! Il y a longtemps à Paris ! Vous êtes ma référence ! My Queen of Rock !

CONGRATS TO PAT FOR MAKING IT TO THE CLASS OF 2022 ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME ALONGSIDE DURAN DURAN 💕💕💕
Love this video! My dentist's favorite video!!
Great surprise ending!
Put Her in the Hall of Fame Now!!!
This video was my favorite on MTV, but it was aired so rarely.
This is great! I had never heard this one and I love her songs.
In need to go to the dentist this january. It will be fun. ^^
Love the song and the video, and I just realized Peter Dinklage appears briefly in the dentist office, that's pretty cool! 😎✌️
Pat Benatar, Olivia Newton-John are the too most best in the world.
This song was insanely popular when I was in school.
+Grand Illusion
He could have meant that it was popular... you know... specifically at school.
It's a best music video, ever.
This song very appropriate for the world we live in right now ☹️
See you Saturday Paramount NY checking ✔ in !!
Huh. Been a while since I listened to this one, and I just realized how on the nose most retrowave songs are to this one track.
I relate to this song so much right now
Same here, between PTSD and severe panic attacks, my anxiety leaves me unable to function in life very well and it's frustrating to say the least.
yes it is!
Way back when I first listened to this track I didn't have much of a clue about what it was about. Now decades later I realise just how spot on this song is. Anxiety and depression are like a ten ton weight that have ruined my life and that of those around me.
You guys had to have a blast filming this !!
wild lannister appears!!
awesome! thank you!
Boy this takes me back....
やっと見つけた!!これだ!!亮くん
This is one of those videos that is INTENTIONALLY funny. Looks like they had a blast making it
It certainly does have some campiness and tongue in cheek humour to it! :)
it is him. he was always in cool stuff back in the day.
Great song
The Varsity show choir group at my school did this song. It was soooo intense!
i like pat benatar her older music rocks
Halloween costume goals
This is the first time I've heard the original version of this song. My introduction to this was from Alvin and The Chipmunks back in the 80s.
When this song came out I thought to myself I hope I never experience that. I jinxed myself, got my first panic attack at 15 followed by anxiety 😔. I'm in my forties now and I'm able to manage it.
Never heard this song before but know back in the 80s The Chipmunks cartoon did a version of this :)
