The a capella and the harmony at the beginning before the beat drops is chill-inducing every time! What a fantastic song...you feel like driving fast and belting it out at the top of your lungs!
It makes me wish I owned my own fighter jet. I could definitely see myself blasting this on the headphones whilst zooming through the clouds at Mach 3.
I absolutely adore Pat Benetar. Grew upon her records, my Mom played the heck out of them. She's one of my favorite singers of all time! I saw her twice in concert. The first time I saw her I couldn't believe how tiny she was. She looks small, but she was even tinier than I thought in person. Pat and Stevie are my favorites ever. No one can beat these two, they're both amazing!

One of my favorite Pat Benatar songs of all time, I love the video! Has everyone by now caught the cameo appearances of Bill Paxton (as the German radio announcer who gets hit in the stomach near the end by the commander’s long wooden pointer stick) and Judge Reinhold (as one of the members of Pat’s crew, wearing the red cap)? So cool seeing these future stars make an early appearance in this video !! 👍👍👍
Being born in '81 I was a pup when all of this music was in its prime. My buddy Nick used to tell me Pat was my 80's girlfriend. I have loved her music my entire life and she is definitely my guilty pleasure when it comes to 80's music for sure.❤❤❤
When I was in an outpatient mental health program, one of my fellow clients worshipped Hitler. In response I drew WWII female kwamis (yes, Miraculous Ladybug fan) and played this song on repeat while I drew them. I called them my Midnight Angels. This song is a hidden gem from Pat Benatar. My friend Elaine is a Pat Benatar fan but she never heard Shadows of the Night until I sent her the video.
Yours is one of my most favorite comments. The reason is I want my songs to take you away from the hectic life you lead and take you away to a peaceful place.
This was one of the original ‘classic’ MTV videos from the Fall of 1982. Of course Pat Benatar’s distinctive voice and beauty were classics in their own right. Visual musical history.
Shadows Of The Night Is Great Straight Up Rock Song By Pat Benatar And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.
Absolutely brilliant song.. my favourite from Pat Benatar and yes the video is cheesy but I still love it cos it's from the 80 's and that was just the best era for everything! music, TV shows, toys etc.. This kind of sound takes me back to when I was a little girl I was born the same year thus song came out!! LOVE THIS SONG! CLASSIC x
No idea why people want to troll others who post nice comments about the 80's but hey, guess if it makes you feel big n bad then whatever. Toffeegirl had it right though, the 80's were da bomb. This came out my Freshman year in high school and I'm still rocking it on original vinyl today. Where's a TARDIS when I need one....?
MLG obviously stands for malicious little git. People who look back fondly have had some good times and have great memories. The opposite is also true. Fabulous song, I still have the 7" vinyl, one of the first singles I ever bought and I agree totally the 80's was a fantastic decade
I think most songs have the power to take you back to points in time in your life and for us that time of life was such a good time - for some us anyway. Would I go back? yep no brainer.
This was produced during the first years of MTV when they made little masterpieces that told a complete story in just 3 1/2 minutes. Pat Benatar really had a presence. The 2 brave T-6 Texans flying off to save the world, I love it.
In my neighborhood, there’s a cemetery. Buried there are several military veterans. There is a group of 4 T-6 Texans that do fly overs every Veterans Day and every Memorial Day.
I've loved this song since it came out but honestly had never seen the video until today. Hard to believe with all the MTV I watched when they actually played videos and singers could actually sing too! An imaginative and well done video.
frederic lucas Alot different than the scenes of two lovers running through the forest at night that I imagined;but as a man who believes in women empowerment as well as anti-racism,I respect this👍
Grew up watching MTV and remember seeing all the stations being added to cable. Very exciting for us who grew up in the 80s. MTV was big talk before it first aired, we as teenagers had our very own channel and friends I had at school we all had fun talking music.

Just listen to the original by Helen Schneider who needs no voice amplifiers.
Once you reach a certain age where you have less years ahead than behind at that point one asks themself where did the time go???
It goes by faster with each passing year.
u want to slow time down. commit a crime and head to prison. haha
no... you look at it and say... ( those were some great years. I'm looking forward to the next years.
thomas fritz be thankful we enjoyed those years. We were fortunate to be young and free before the internet existed.
I know that I'll be pouring what little remains of my terminal life into listening to Pat Benetar while flying my jetbike over Los Santos
One of my favorite videos growing up MTV
Did any one see Judge Reinhold and Bill Paxton in the video? I did! 🙂🙃
It wasnt until years later that I noticed that was Paxton in the video. LOL
I spotted Reinhold but missed Paxton.
It makes you wonder how many other cameos were done by various actors.
According to his Wikipedia page Paxton did another 8 music vidoes.
My last 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
J'ai vu Reinhold, mais pas Paxton, il faut que je regarde à nouveau le clip.
Paxton was a Nazi here.
Pat & Neil's music is timeless, it's like hearing it again for the first time every time!

It makes me wish I owned my own fighter jet. I could definitely see myself blasting this on the headphones whilst zooming through the clouds at Mach 3.
One of the greatest songs and videos of all time!
The internet is the closest thing we have to a time machine.
Good call
How many guys still think Pat Benatar is sexy after all those years?
I think she is beautiful :)
Holy crap, what a great video! As bold as the 80's! And yes, Pat Benetar is still a bombshell.
Would like nothing more than a Pat Benatar/Stevie Nicks sandwich with me as the filling.
Your speaking the truth.
She's a beautiful woman inside and out.
この頃のミュージックビデオ最高でした。パット・ベネターなら、なおさら。貴重な青春時代ありがとうございました。
I absolutely adore Pat Benetar. Grew upon her records, my Mom played the heck out of them. She's one of my favorite singers of all time! I saw her twice in concert. The first time I saw her I couldn't believe how tiny she was. She looks small, but she was even tinier than I thought in person. Pat and Stevie are my favorites ever. No one can beat these two, they're both amazing!
Who can open a song like that?
PAT BENATAR!
No matter how old I get I will NEVER regret growing up to the music of the 1980s!!!

Pat Benatar, Lee Aaron, rock goddesses. Today's artists could not carry their lunch.
One of the greatst songs and artists EVER.Oh and yes,R.I.P Bill Paxton and God Bless Us All(good spirits !!)
Yup.. RIP Bill Paxton who played a small part in this video..
I love the Power of her Voice in this classic song! ❤
I Love Pat Benatar.... This song rocks and the lyrics are❤️🔥
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end
You said, "Oh, girl, it's a cold world when you keep it all to yourself"
I said, "You can't hide on the inside, all the pain you've ever felt"
Ransom my heart, but baby, don't look back 'cause we got nobody else
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end
You know that sometimes, it feels like, it's all moving way too fast
Use every alibi and words you deny that love ain't meant to last
You can cry, tough baby, it's alright, you can let me down easy, but not tonight
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end
And now the hands of time are standing still
Midnight angel, won't you say you will?
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end
We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby, take my hand, you'll be alright
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end...
Change " you " and you're Spot On.

She changed my life growing up. In a good way.
She definitely had that impact on us!
In the multitude of Pat Benatar great songs this is my favorite. She should have been inducted in the RNR Hall of Fame years ago.
Absolutely

This song and video is very underrated… it’s great
Underated??
Lol . WTF are you smoking? Crack?
This is one of the MOST popular videos to ever appear on MTV
When I was in an outpatient mental health program, one of my fellow clients worshipped Hitler. In response I drew WWII female kwamis (yes, Miraculous Ladybug fan) and played this song on repeat while I drew them. I called them my Midnight Angels.
This song is a hidden gem from Pat Benatar. My friend Elaine is a Pat Benatar fan but she never heard Shadows of the Night until I sent her the video.
Hello Melinda.. how are you doing?
This song still gives me chills.
Don't think there will ever be another singer like Pat Benatar.
Why isn't Pat Benatar in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? What's wrong with those people??
J2theMac I'm still wondering when the rrhof is gonna induct Jethro Tull.
yeah, I've asked this before too
Because some people cannot recognize real music when they hear it.....sad!! Pat is one of the greatest!!!
Pat sits on the throne of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She needs no induction!
Probably the same reason that Willie Mae Thornton isn't in there yet.
Some songs just make you stop, forget your problems just for a minute, and get lost in it!
Between her vocals, the 🎸 and amazing video...may be the best ever!!!🥰😎💋💯💥🤟✈

Shadows Of The Night Is Great Straight Up Rock Song By Pat Benatar And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.
Absolutely brilliant song.. my favourite from Pat Benatar and yes the video is cheesy but I still love it cos it's from the 80 's and that was just the best era for everything! music, TV shows, toys etc.. This kind of sound takes me back to when I was a little girl I was born the same year thus song came out!! LOVE THIS SONG! CLASSIC x
Toffee Girl that era may have brought great things but you should stop living in the past
Make the 2020s a better era then.
I love this song ! just excellent and it seems I recognized Bill Paxton in this video !
This was produced during the first years of MTV when they made little masterpieces that told a complete story in just 3 1/2 minutes. Pat Benatar really had a presence.
The 2 brave T-6 Texans flying off to save the world, I love it.
Too propogandish.
Great song, though.
When MTV was great.
In my neighborhood, there’s a cemetery.
Buried there are several military veterans.
There is a group of 4 T-6 Texans that do fly overs every Veterans Day and every Memorial Day.
When you need ace pilots who are also commandos!! I miss the little movies that videos were on MTV then.
@@JLvatron A beautiful woman with the voice of an angel paying tribute to the women of WWII who worked to help save the world is not propaganda.
I've loved this song since it came out but honestly had never seen the video until today. Hard to believe with all the MTV I watched when they actually played videos and singers could actually sing too! An imaginative and well done video.

Grew up watching MTV and remember seeing all the stations being added to cable. Very exciting for us who grew up in the 80s. MTV was big talk before it first aired, we as teenagers had our very own channel and friends I had at school we all had fun talking music.
