At first I thought the same, but yesterday I was playing on Lijiang tower Control Tower on the high platform and surprisingly enough I was able to kill/finish off enemies at that range. Since she has a consequent enough magazine, you can deal some serious damage as long as you hit your shots

Its not pointless even if it sails off into the sky. Every target it moves past is slowed to the same effect as Sym turrets, and that effect is no longer hitting your team. Its about as pointless as deflecting a Hanzo ult straight off the map: Its not.
One thing I really like about Orisa, which is her largest weakness aswell. Is that she is very team-dependant. She is amazing with a good team, but on her own she's not game-breaking. Makes competitive teamwork very rewarding if you play her well.
That's why I stopped playing with Rein. I think both of them are very fun to play, but the lack of support from the team as a whole has made the character very frustrating. Unfortunately I think it will be the same with this character.

you can carry winston in the way that you keep diving their backrow and killing the healers just as he was designed to do but ofcourse roadhog does the job better at every 8 secs so I see what you mean
So let me get this straight. Orisa - 900 hp barrier that cools down after placement. Winston - 600 hp barrier no cool down until detroyed...yeah...was the plan to make Winston even more useless.
Winston fix is simple. That's why it so maddening. Increase his armor by 100 and make the cool down on shield generator upon placement like Orisa. Done.
Winston does a very differnet job than Orissa tough. Orissa is an alternative to Reinhart where Winston is a flanker/haraser who kills Genjis and Healers like breakfest. Buffing him could make him OP, espesially at the haras healers job.
orisa has a better barrier that recharges potentially quicker in most situations compared to winston, orisa has resist abilities, mini graviton surge and deals a lot damage and has a huge clip.

Fred the mad who is definitely mad, I ain't the first to NOTICE(Not complain, though it is kind of complaining) the fact that winston suck, and he has been almost useless for months and months. It's like valve tf2 fixing gunslinger(6 years I believe, it was also in most cases op) or loch n load all over again(6 months, it used to be op).
Winston is still a dive tank, he accomplishes a different mission than Orisa so he is fine. People keep comparing Winston to Anchor tanks but forget that he is NOT that type of tank.

So a 900-1800 barrier depending on placement timing, smaller head hitbox, a damage mitigation ability, displacement CC not tied to an ult, and apparently strong against flankers. Basically Winston only has his mobility now, and diving onto the backline of a team with an Orisa is just going to get yourself killed even faster because she'll drop her barrier to protect the squishy you're after and just melt you.
An idea for a sombra buff is giving her more dmg when she shots enemies in the back. It would maker her stronger when flanking and people would use her more often. But maybe it would be too op.
The reason her damage is absurdly high is because she don't have to reload often and while you play on the PTR you'll always face another Orisa and unload into her 900 hp barriers. And she benefits from every supercharger drop since she initiates it unlike the teammates that might miss it.

Junkrat changes: Concussive bomb: lower cool down remove damage Traps: work in a cool down like tracers blink being able to have 3 on the field at a time with 6 second Cooldowns which means a total of 18 seconds for all 3 traps to regenerate. Grenade Launcher: Increase projectile speed by 40% and decrease splash damage by 40% making his weapon more predictable and skill based. Also helps against random rollers. With this change would also mean you need to buff his passive so maybe make them their own entities not effected by the splash damage decrease. Rip tire: the ultimate itself is good but the problem is any competent team can just destroy it making junkrat feel useless. Simple fix could be to increase its total health by maybe 50 armour and make it so if it is destroyed you get 50% of your ult back
Well the whole OP thing should be based on if her counters can actually do their job against her. Does anybody have a feel on who counters her and vice versa?
Playing Orisa is like having a high ping in quake or unreal tournament. Lead ALL your shots, just a bit. If you're having trouble hitting something, wave your cursor back and forth across the target, or spam strafe, you'll hit them. With the 200 shot magazine she feels a lot like a slightly laggy, mobile Bastion turret, and I love it.
One tactic I found quite effective with Orisa is to shoot her barrier in between opponents and their Ana. Not at the start of the fight, but like half way through. It blocks healing from the Ana and allows me to clean up the enemy.
I love Orisa, because Overwatch has come to a point where to win on attack, you need a huge blow to the enemy team in order to get into the point, but with Orisa, you make a slow and steady advance, slow backing the enemy back onto a point
Mercy's damage boost doesn't stack with Orisa's supercharger, they tested that and it unfortunately (?) didn't work. Imagine supercharged, nano-boosted Roadhog Ult or Soldier 76 tactical visor with a good Zen applying discord orbs... he would do about 48 damage per shot, giving 76 a per-mag damage potential of 1200 damage. He can use two mags per ult, so he could pretty much solo break Rein's shield and kill him if he also used a helix rocket to finish him. BTW the helix rocket would do 280 damage, enough to insta-kill anything that isnt a tank or bastion... Oh, and Whole Hog does 5000 damage unboosted, which is ~833 dps, add in the boosts and it goes to 1916 dps... he could pop that, drop the rein shield, and kill everyone behind it before they could even react.
Been thinking about who Orisa would synergize very well with based on her Halt! ability. One that was made obvious via Your Overwatch is with Rein's ult in how she can pretty much bypass the shield battle by raising the enemy Rein off of the ground. From my perspective though, she will likely be amazing with snipers like Hanzo and Widowmaker. Usually enemy heroes will find a decent position that would be difficult for a sniper to get site on without a barrier between them. If Orisa uses Halt! to pull them into a specific position, Hanzo could follow up with a Scatter Shot or Widow with a headshot if they adjust to how Halt! functions.
what scares me about orisa is how she counters alot of characters like mei and rein but doesnt have many counters herself, especially when it comes to her fortify ability. her and rein are probably goint to be a must have in games until she gets counter characters or a nerf that im sure will happen soon enough.
She may be many things, but "very weak" is not one of them. If you think she is, then I don't think you how to play her. She's like a long range Reinhard and she's gonna get a ton of cheap kills with her alt fire. Her ult is like a nano boost for her entire team, and that's the thing, you got to think about the entire team rather than just her, because both her shield, her ult and her alt fire can all benefit the entire team.
Orisa is supposed to be an anchor tank which means she's supposed to stand her ground and try to keep the enemies away, although she's a more of a mix tank with the best of both achor and damage tank, with a bit more power. And i have some points to prove that TDLR: she's OP on almost every aspects comparing to the other tanks, except HP and movability.. a mini scale combo of Zarya, Winston and Bastian 1. Her shield might just be 900 HP (more than half of Reinhardts) but with a cooldown that starts immediately after it's deployed it means it's more efficient than Winstons shield with a cooldown on 12 sec. after being destroyed and only 600HP. The cooldown also means that she's more sustainable than Reinhardt because his recharge rate is way too low to keep up... 2. When it comes to damage her DPS crushes alot of characters as long as you're able to hit the target, which isn't that hard with a bit of training or if the enemy team is trying to get through a choke. 3. Her alt shot works like Zaryas ult just as a mini version, but with a cooldown on 10 sec. it's more over powered than using Roadhogs hook to pull people into the holes and it's able to be used for combos with eks. Genji, Reaper or Tracer 4. Her fortify counters EVERYTHING that has to do with CC and even damages Reinhardt if he tries to charge her, plus leaves him open to be sprayed upon. It doesn't last very long but with a very bit of timing it's easy to use She's not an anchor tank! unless it means mowing everything down that she's able to see, in that case what would Reinhardt be?
I remember losing a game due to an orisa's ult, it was quite spectacular in that, she placed it down, died, yet noone noticed the supercharger so we pushed the payload over it, a genji proceeded to ult, being nano boosted and having the hidden supercharger and wiped us all
Perfect idea: A mercy buffing a bastion with an orisa shield and a reindhart shield and a winston shield. It will work until a sombra with emp comes, if that does happen then R.I.P
So I've kinda had this idea forming in my head. What if you use her on dive compositions? Like say you have her sit in the back with a zenyatta while a d.va or Winston dives in with Lucio and two other offensive characters. Zenyatta calls out discords, Lucio keeps the team moving and Orisa provides protection for zenyatta, damage boost while the 4 dive and suppressing fire over all of the enemy team so they are constantly being attacked
I'm almost positive sombra is supposed to be played exactly like the spy in TF2, where you cant take on groups of characters, but you can take out characters who are alone. She is meant to be a lurker, where you push the enemies from behind and your team pushes them head on. You can also easily take out tanks like winston and zaria by hacking them, as well as a near by health pack, and then strafing around them and getting the health pack when your low on health. Just my thoughts though :/
I like everything about Orisa except the grav alt fire. This is gonna infuriate so many people when they get enviro killed. I wish it was the opposite and pushed people outwards instead of together, more of a disruption ability
You are right about reloading with orisa. it takes her 2.5 seconds to reload, the next closest is bastion in sentry, everyont else is either 1.5 or 1 second (tracer is about .5 seconds).
I'm sure it's old news by now but yeah, you re-deployed your barrier towards the enemy Genji instead of using Halt (I'm sure that's what you were going for to pull him away from you behind the payload) watch your left arm at 7:46 and you actually see everything that goes down with a few reviews. You aim at Genji and then deploy the second barrier directly behind him.
Personally, I feel she is in a really good place at the moment. The only change I could see would be her ult getting nerfed slightly if it does stack with other damage boost abilities.
Orisa is going to be used as a anchor tank I play her by using the gun in unison with the barrier and use the grav to pull targets away from shields or Pull tanks off the map or pull them out of the way to set up ultimates you can only compare this tank with Reinhardt due to her abilities and play style and I feel when people start to learn her more they'll realize that she works just as well
Ultimate Choke Defense: Reinhardt, Orisa, Symmetra, Bastion, Ana, Soldier Thats 3900HP barrier sitting their (4800 if you count Orisa's as 1800) Insane DPS between Baston and Soldier 2 Tanks + Bastion = Nano Boost in no time

Wait, so you have to detonate the orb for it to grab people? it doesn't just detonate when he gets close to someone? that makes it a little more interesting, that will require skilled timing if that is the case

What you said about sombra being a primary counter to her seems pretty accurate. Only way to stop something like that is either kill it immediately or hack it. Really wish that sombra was just more potent. Everythings there for a really good hero but everytime I play sombra idk I just don't feel like she works. Even when I go on tears with her and get hella kills. idk.

The next hero they should be focusing on is Winston as the only thing he's good at atm is feeding the enemy's ults. He should be able to destroy his barrier projector manually and never have to reload. Furthermore, he deserves an additional ability, a passive ability or a secondary fire mode, e.g. being able to charge up his tesla cannon and release a projectile which sticks to any surface and detonates 1 second after impact, electrocuting any enemy within a certain radius. This ability, however, would have to have a cooldown.
I feel like because it requires two ultimate's for a strong combo that they will not nerf the Ana Orisa combo. Otherwise what's to stop them from taking away Zarya Pharah?
I'm still waiting for the "only herooes that use shields" strategy, where the whole team uses shields, symmetra, reindhardt, orisa, winston, zarya, ect.
What if the team is playing Rein Orisa Winston Symm Ana Zen ? Symm to fire through ennemy teams barriers + Ana for amazing healing + Nano Supercharger combo Winston for Diving a bit on discorded orbs and the SHIELDS in this comp will be so huge to deal with ! Like the general strategy should be stopping ennemies to build ultimates by just let them firing at shields and not heroes HP bars when you team can just spam dmg and combo game breaking ultimates !
She doesn't seem too powerful or too weak just about right. But I'm definitely gonna pick Sombra and feast on her soul if I see one on the enemy team. Finally another good excuse to play Sombra^^
Does the barrier device go through enemies or does it bounce off them? I'm curious if you can use it as a divider between an Ana and her tanks to prevent Ana healing her tanks. Combine that with Rein shielding your team.
Based on my experience so far, Orisa feels like a defensive twin to Reinhardt. Reinhardt will protect the team on an advance and charge into the enemy team. Orisa doesn't have the speed to do the same things. I'd choose Orisa when you need to hold a point (defense on almost any game Mode) and Rein when you're on attack and need to protect the team mooing forward. I would argue that Orisa is better suited to payload attack though, since her barrier can be placed on the payload and left there. Also her barrier is slightly better shaped than reinhardts to protect static defenses like a bastion or turret.
Two idea for if she needs a nerf (with damage ya going to say she needs at least some), A---- reduce the damage she has on primary or make it so no headshots. She is a tank and it seems Bliz. want to make every tank heavy on dps, don't know why. B--- (more of an addition to the first) Have the ult bring her damage back to where it is (w/out ult) at the moment, and make the ult itself have a heighter charge. once she gets the thing down it is pritty much a full team wipe might want to tweek it so dosn't happen as often. Now buffs (they are more fun to think about for me) A -----reduce colldown/ increase health of the sheild (if they realy want to have her be a replacement for Rine.) B-----aoe effect for the (dont know the name) 50% damage/anti- Rine charge ability (willing to give up some of the % damage to alow this) C----- increase the range of pull from the "mini graviton serge" (no reasoning just think this would be fun)
I think that they'll either reduce how the damage boost stacks, or get rid of it entirely. She does do a lot of damage but I mean, I guess if Roadhog is allowed to have a high damage output, and also Zarya, why not another tank then.
One thing i hope tbey do is give her a some more health (like 100hp) or a slight (like 5-10%) damage buff just cauze she's got one of the biggest hitboxes in the game and gets shreaded by heros like tracer if she doesnt have her team with her

To people interested, Genji CANNOT deflect Orisa's shield. D.Va's defense matrix can swallow it though. Also, Genji CAN deflect Halt.

I wonder if it would be feasible to run an Orisa + Mei combo. Orisa uses Halt! to pull people out of a choke, and Mei walls them off.

Playing Orisa is like having a high ping in quake or unreal tournament. Lead ALL your shots, just a bit. If you're having trouble hitting something, wave your cursor back and forth across the target, or spam strafe, you'll hit them. With the 200 shot magazine she feels a lot like a slightly laggy, mobile Bastion turret, and I love it.

One tactic I found quite effective with Orisa is to shoot her barrier in between opponents and their Ana. Not at the start of the fight, but like half way through. It blocks healing from the Ana and allows me to clean up the enemy.

I love Orisa, because Overwatch has come to a point where to win on attack, you need a huge blow to the enemy team in order to get into the point, but with Orisa, you make a slow and steady advance, slow backing the enemy back onto a point

Mercy's damage boost doesn't stack with Orisa's supercharger, they tested that and it unfortunately (?) didn't work. Imagine supercharged, nano-boosted Roadhog Ult or Soldier 76 tactical visor with a good Zen applying discord orbs... he would do about 48 damage per shot, giving 76 a per-mag damage potential of 1200 damage. He can use two mags per ult, so he could pretty much solo break Rein's shield and kill him if he also used a helix rocket to finish him. BTW the helix rocket would do 280 damage, enough to insta-kill anything that isnt a tank or bastion...
Oh, and Whole Hog does 5000 damage unboosted, which is ~833 dps, add in the boosts and it goes to 1916 dps... he could pop that, drop the rein shield, and kill everyone behind it before they could even react.
Seems like Orisa is strongest when coupled with Rein instead of a replacement. They cover each other's weaknesses so well.
Lets get roight into the three tank meta
Been thinking about who Orisa would synergize very well with based on her Halt! ability. One that was made obvious via Your Overwatch is with Rein's ult in how she can pretty much bypass the shield battle by raising the enemy Rein off of the ground. From my perspective though, she will likely be amazing with snipers like Hanzo and Widowmaker. Usually enemy heroes will find a decent position that would be difficult for a sniper to get site on without a barrier between them. If Orisa uses Halt! to pull them into a specific position, Hanzo could follow up with a Scatter Shot or Widow with a headshot if they adjust to how Halt! functions.

what scares me about orisa is how she counters alot of characters like mei and rein but doesnt have many counters herself, especially when it comes to her fortify ability. her and rein are probably goint to be a must have in games until she gets counter characters or a nerf that im sure will happen soon enough.
Nate Robertson yes, but she is a character who is really dependent on her team. If your team isn't working around her she isn't very effective.

She may be many things, but "very weak" is not one of them. If you think she is, then I don't think you how to play her.
She's like a long range Reinhard and she's gonna get a ton of cheap kills with her alt fire. Her ult is like a nano boost for her entire team, and that's the thing, you got to think about the entire team rather than just her, because both her shield, her ult and her alt fire can all benefit the entire team.
It's really interesting. Her kit seems to allow her, if properly supported, to dislodge entrenched enemies or break chokes

Orisa is supposed to be an anchor tank which means she's supposed to stand her ground and try to keep the enemies away, although she's a more of a mix tank with the best of both achor and damage tank, with a bit more power. And i have some points to prove that
TDLR: she's OP on almost every aspects comparing to the other tanks, except HP and movability.. a mini scale combo of Zarya, Winston and Bastian
1. Her shield might just be 900 HP (more than half of Reinhardts) but with a cooldown that starts immediately after it's deployed it means it's more efficient than Winstons shield with a cooldown on 12 sec. after being destroyed and only 600HP. The cooldown also means that she's more sustainable than Reinhardt because his recharge rate is way too low to keep up...
2. When it comes to damage her DPS crushes alot of characters as long as you're able to hit the target, which isn't that hard with a bit of training or if the enemy team is trying to get through a choke.
3. Her alt shot works like Zaryas ult just as a mini version, but with a cooldown on 10 sec. it's more over powered than using Roadhogs hook to pull people into the holes and it's able to be used for combos with eks. Genji, Reaper or Tracer
4. Her fortify counters EVERYTHING that has to do with CC and even damages Reinhardt if he tries to charge her, plus leaves him open to be sprayed upon. It doesn't last very long but with a very bit of timing it's easy to use
She's not an anchor tank! unless it means mowing everything down that she's able to see, in that case what would Reinhardt be?

I remember losing a game due to an orisa's ult, it was quite spectacular in that, she placed it down, died, yet noone noticed the supercharger so we pushed the payload over it, a genji proceeded to ult, being nano boosted and having the hidden supercharger and wiped us all

So I've kinda had this idea forming in my head. What if you use her on dive compositions? Like say you have her sit in the back with a zenyatta while a d.va or Winston dives in with Lucio and two other offensive characters. Zenyatta calls out discords, Lucio keeps the team moving and Orisa provides protection for zenyatta, damage boost while the 4 dive and suppressing fire over all of the enemy team so they are constantly being attacked

I'm almost positive sombra is supposed to be played exactly like the spy in TF2, where you cant take on groups of characters, but you can take out characters who are alone. She is meant to be a lurker, where you push the enemies from behind and your team pushes them head on. You can also easily take out tanks like winston and zaria by hacking them, as well as a near by health pack, and then strafing around them and getting the health pack when your low on health. Just my thoughts though :/

I like everything about Orisa except the grav alt fire. This is gonna infuriate so many people when they get enviro killed. I wish it was the opposite and pushed people outwards instead of together, more of a disruption ability

You are right about reloading with orisa. it takes her 2.5 seconds to reload, the next closest is bastion in sentry, everyont else is either 1.5 or 1 second (tracer is about .5 seconds).
I'm sure it's old news by now but yeah, you re-deployed your barrier towards the enemy Genji instead of using Halt (I'm sure that's what you were going for to pull him away from you behind the payload) watch your left arm at 7:46 and you actually see everything that goes down with a few reviews. You aim at Genji and then deploy the second barrier directly behind him.
Personally, I feel she is in a really good place at the moment. The only change I could see would be her ult getting nerfed slightly if it does stack with other damage boost abilities.

Orisa is going to be used as a anchor tank I play her by using the gun in unison with the barrier and use the grav to pull targets away from shields or Pull tanks off the map or pull them out of the way to set up ultimates you can only compare this tank with Reinhardt due to her abilities and play style and I feel when people start to learn her more they'll realize that she works just as well

Wait, so you have to detonate the orb for it to grab people? it doesn't just detonate when he gets close to someone? that makes it a little more interesting, that will require skilled timing if that is the case

What you said about sombra being a primary counter to her seems pretty accurate. Only way to stop something like that is either kill it immediately or hack it. Really wish that sombra was just more potent. Everythings there for a really good hero but everytime I play sombra idk I just don't feel like she works. Even when I go on tears with her and get hella kills. idk.
rein isn't an anchor tank, orisa is, if you have reinhardt, push forward, barrier low, throw orisa shield, recharge, continue on pushing
It would be pretty cool if Sombra could hack the supercharger so it damages the enemy or boosts her team instead of pointlessly disabling it
you said that Sombra is great counter because she can block your abilities but I can see you dropping barrier after being hacked at 2:00 , you also was able to use your fortify after being hacked at 9:55 , so I don't get what abilities are blocked, only your secondary fire ?

Jeff was talking about how there were to many overtimes now with her mini graviton surge she WILL cut down how many overtimes there r that is why overwatch gave Orissa the mini graviton surge (mic drop)
The next hero they should be focusing on is Winston as the only thing he's good at atm is feeding the enemy's ults. He should be able to destroy his barrier projector manually and never have to reload. Furthermore, he deserves an additional ability, a passive ability or a secondary fire mode, e.g. being able to charge up his tesla cannon and release a projectile which sticks to any surface and detonates 1 second after impact, electrocuting any enemy within a certain radius. This ability, however, would have to have a cooldown.

What if the team is playing Rein Orisa Winston Symm Ana Zen ? Symm to fire through ennemy teams barriers + Ana for amazing healing + Nano Supercharger combo Winston for Diving a bit on discorded orbs and the SHIELDS in this comp will be so huge to deal with ! Like the general strategy should be stopping ennemies to build ultimates by just let them firing at shields and not heroes HP bars when you team can just spam dmg and combo game breaking ultimates !

I typically don't play tanky characters in games, but arisa looks like a perfect match for my play style.
She doesn't seem too powerful or too weak just about right. But I'm definitely gonna pick Sombra and feast on her soul if I see one on the enemy team. Finally another good excuse to play Sombra^^

Does the barrier device go through enemies or does it bounce off them? I'm curious if you can use it as a divider between an Ana and her tanks to prevent Ana healing her tanks. Combine that with Rein shielding your team.
Based on my experience so far, Orisa feels like a defensive twin to Reinhardt. Reinhardt will protect the team on an advance and charge into the enemy team. Orisa doesn't have the speed to do the same things. I'd choose Orisa when you need to hold a point (defense on almost any game
Mode) and Rein when you're on attack and need to protect the team mooing forward. I would argue that Orisa is better suited to payload attack though, since her barrier can be placed on the payload and left there. Also her barrier is slightly better shaped than reinhardts to protect static defenses like a bastion or turret.
I actually seem to be able to aim better when weapons aren't hit-scan, so this seems the perfect tank to me
Two idea for if she needs a nerf (with damage ya going to say she needs at least some), A---- reduce the damage she has on primary or make it so no headshots. She is a tank and it seems Bliz. want to make every tank heavy on dps, don't know why. B--- (more of an addition to the first) Have the ult bring her damage back to where it is (w/out ult) at the moment, and make the ult itself have a heighter charge. once she gets the thing down it is pritty much a full team wipe might want to tweek it so dosn't happen as often.
Now buffs (they are more fun to think about for me) A -----reduce colldown/ increase health of the sheild (if they realy want to have her be a replacement for Rine.) B-----aoe effect for the (dont know the name) 50% damage/anti- Rine charge ability (willing to give up some of the % damage to alow this) C----- increase the range of pull from the "mini graviton serge" (no reasoning just think this would be fun)
I think that they'll either reduce how the damage boost stacks, or get rid of it entirely. She does do a lot of damage but I mean, I guess if Roadhog is allowed to have a high damage output, and also Zarya, why not another tank then.
I feel like her mini-graviton cooldown is to fast. It should be closer to other area boop abilities, such as Junk's mine or Pharah's concussion thing.
One thing i hope tbey do is give her a some more health (like 100hp) or a slight (like 5-10%) damage buff just cauze she's got one of the biggest hitboxes in the game and gets shreaded by heros like tracer if she doesnt have her team with her
