So much fun to watch…also same happened to avs this year too. Couldn’t hold on with a goal up against LA I think. Was like they’re not gonna hold on… la scores. And then scores again in reg to end it.
The Avs have to stop getting behind if they’re going to be legit Cup contenders. You don’t see teams frequently falling a couple goals behind winning playoff series.
@@timdowney6721 If they get even slightly below league average goaltending it's gonna be so over for the rest of the league. I think Georgiev has a lot more to give the team.
Nathan appears to be one of the most complete players I've ever seen. He's +12, can score, make plays, hit, defend, feisty as hell. I knew he was good but till these last few videos I didn't really appreciate just how good. If he stays healthy and maintains the intensity no telling how far he goes this year. Excellent video.
Love to see him get more props! Point monster. Might not be a pure “goal scorer” but when he does it’s so dynamic. I still shiver when I think about that end to end goal against the Blues during their Cup run. So cold. Sucks it didn’t end that game though… Thanks Darren Helm!
I'm cheering for MacKinnon so hard this year. I'm so sick and tired of every NHL award just going to McDavid by default. MacKinnon has always been 2nd to someone else throughout his career. 2nd in the Hart race. 2nd in the Conn Smythe race. 2nd in the scoring race. He's always been getting snubbed and he's overdue for a Hart Trophy this year. He deserves it at this point. As a Devils fan, he was robbed in 2018. Taylor Hall has done nothing since 2018 to justify that Hart Trophy. I can't believe a one season wonder robbed him.
He plays angry. Nothing looks “effortless” or “beautiful” from him, everything is done with intensity and effort. You can SEE him strain on the ice. He’s ferocious. I love it.
It's an injustice that you didn't include the entire coast to coast run up to the goal at 3:18. That was a thing of beauty to see in person, and I'll never not watch that replay. It should have been the GWG/series winning goal.
He is worth the price of admission. Unlike Mathews, this guy plays to win/hates to lose. He wears his heart on his sleeve, has courage and plays hard all over the ice. He inspires others to do what he does game after game...leave it all on the ice.
I totally respect MacKinnons game and the way he continues to improve what seems every year. Him and McDavid are my two favorites and I really want another rematch between them in the playoffs 👏
In the month of December, if Mack scored just one more point, he would be exactly two points per game player. 29 points in 15 games. Helluva acceleration from the previous month
MacKinnon is awesome and to me he is the second best forward in the world, but even with a scoring title for Nate I'd still put Makar above him as the second best player. Calder, Norris and Conn Smythe winner and he's been a Norris finalist every single year except his rookie season and without injuries he definitely would've won multiple Norris trophies already. He's breaking some of Bobby Orr's records. Makar is just head and shoulders above every other defenseman in the league.
Ive been saying for a few years now MacKinnon is closer to being the best player in the league than people think. He was robbed of the hart, straight facts, Hall had a great year but shouldn't have won. Prior to finally cracking 100 points last year, he was on pace the previous 3 seasons but missed 10-15 games each season and fell just short of 100. His points per game are the more telling stat than total points. Over the past five seasons only Mcdavid has a higher points per game average. If not for missed time MacKinnon would have 5 consecutive 100 point seasons and more than likely some trophies. MacKinnon also has a Stanley cup, winning matters. Now obviously McDavid is the more skilled, talented, gifted hockey player and im not gonna try and say MacKinnon is actually better. I do think MacKinnon has more will and drive, the ability to motivate and elivate teammates and thats why he is a cup champion. MacKinnon had a solid but not spectacular first 5 seasons in the league, then the almost record setting bad season happened, then the turning point. MacKinnon was questioning himself, thinking " am i a bust " and went to work on doing anything and everything to get better as an individual player aswell as push his teammates to be better. No doubt McDavid single handedly wins games with his talent alone but i dont believe he has the ability to push his teammates the way MacKinnon can. MacKinnon lights the fire, demands success, infects everyone with the absolute hatred of losing and willingness to go all out do whatever it takes to win mentality. No homer bias, ive been a die hard red wings fan for over 30 years, hated the Avs since i was a teen in the mid 90's.
I honestly couldn’t care less if he wins any personal trophies and I think that’s probably his mindset as well. I mean, great if he does and right now looks like the front runner for the Hart but it’s all about cups. People rarely remember a players career for all the individual awards they win but they sure as sh*t remember the top players who have won multiple Stanley Cups. It’s the one thing that could be a massive stain on the career of McDavid if the Oilers or any new team he may go to, fail to lift the cup at any point.
Great post! I think even winning one cup (like Nate and Ovechkin) gets the monkey off the back to a large degree, as they are just so hard to win. McDavid must be living in a waking nightmare, worried that he will never touch the Cup.
If Nathan MacKinnon wins the Art Ross he will probably be a Hall of Famer! If he can win another cup, couple more trophies, and stay dominant for another few years... Then maybe first ballad! But as of yet he is borderline HOF'er, top 10 player of his generation... But this year his stock is skyrocketing, no questions about that!
Mac doesn't care about any trophy but the big one, and neither do I. Watch the awards ceremonies at any Stanley Cup win and the other trophies are basically cast aside. Thee Cup is all that matters.
Personally id take the 23/24 Nate Dog or recent years over any year McDavid. Not saying he is better, but he has a drive and tenacity that McDavid rarely will show. Nate Dog reminds me of Kobe. He is a force like none other in the league. Honestly might be just as fast as McDavid too.
Mac typically starts really slow scoring the puck, the fact that he's already in the 20s for goals means he could EXPLODE in the second half and take the Rocket Richard home
MacKinnon is the most complete player in the NHL. Responsible in both ends, backs down to no one, actively elevates everyone in the locker room and leads by example. Multiple times this year he's singlehandedly won games where the rest of his team fails to show up. Other teams might be having ostensibly better regular seasons so far but I firmly believe the rest of the West is going to have to lookout for the Avs come the postseason, Dogg's hungry.
Imo avs will be a great regular season team but not playoff, for similar reasons Toronto is. They're back end and goaltending look the worst it has been in some time. Won't be able to outscore your problems consistently come playoffs. We'll maybe 😅
Watching his entire career unfold, the last few years have been truly special. McDavid may be the most offensively talented hockey player in the game, but MacKinnon is way more well rounded and IMO more fun to watch. He has a level of compete, intensity and physicality that McDavid just doesn't have. He was a late bloomer, but even approaching 30 years old he gets better season over season. McDavid may be better on paper, but I wouldn't trade MacKinnon for him, especially with the core that Colorado has established around him. I think the only thing that stops the Avs from another cup run right now is goaltending.
@deanasplund123 calm down, I didn't say he had none, I said MacKinnon is on another level IN THOSE AREAS. Just rewatch the playoff series between the two and tell me I'm wrong.
Nice backtracking.... 1) you realize that hockey is a team game 2) in the playoffs, one way to combat an elite player is to have a constant shadow (all the greats in the history of the NHL has had one in the playoffs, Orr, Lafleur, Gretzky), which is probably what happened.. 3) you don't watch many Oiler games, because if you did, you'd see that McDavid has all 3 what you mentioned and can deliver a good body check when he wants... but to say Mackinnon is better at all three... I know a lot of hockey experts would disagree with you 4) Yah, like I'm going to go back and watch playoff games Try get out of your bubble, and watch more than just the Avs. I watch other teams as well, just not the Oilers.... CLOWN!!!!
No. 1K 👍 from Nova Scotia. Great clip! He’s prone to injury because of the pace he plays the game. Just has to stay healthy and he could finish at the top. 🤷🏻♂️
I'd love Mack to win the Art Ross but I can't see him shaking off Kucherov or McDavid. There are 14 players on pace for 100 points (which shockingly doesn't include Draisaitl!). I'd expect 12 to make it this year
So glad the Avs announcers get some love. I LOVE their broadcasts. I feel like i hear other teams and it feels so dead and bland. I havent missed a game in probably 10 years. Watching this team evolve, and the players grow I am so glad Nate is getting some love. McDavid is obviously great but man Nate Dog plays on a whole nother level. I think hes proving hes the best all around player in the world. I will admit this year he is just different. I dont know what it is, just has this fire to him i havent seen before quite like this. If the Avs had better goaltending, Landi back with a full roster i really think the cup odds look good. Oh and we need to get rid of RJ hes Tartar 2.0.

I sub'd today because you're giving Nate some credit. This guy is neck and neck with Connor McDavid but on a cup contending team. A healthy Avs team and with Toews locker room leadership & Makkar just a bad ass all around, they should really be a cup contender. Because it’s all he’s good for. No defence and just an overall lazy player. He’ll also fall off by the end like he usually does
He has a negative +/- and plays no defense.
@@Bdubsky so, forward carrying tampa's offence by himself should carry and defence too? there's one and simple reason - he's from russia, goverment says to hate russia and u do )))
The Avs last two games were some of the best games I’ve seen all season. Amazing comebacks against the islanders and the Stars
I went to both Avs-Stars games here in Dallas and both were incredible comebacks. And last night’s was an even better feeling than the one back in November. And it’s funny because the Stars have had so many multi-goal comebacks themselves, yet they also blow so many leads. 😂
Miro Heiskanen getting injured in the 2nd changed the game. Dallas relies on him HEAVY.
My favourite RUclipsrs watch each other

Love to see him get more props! Point monster. Might not be a pure “goal scorer” but when he does it’s so dynamic.
I still shiver when I think about that end to end goal against the Blues during their Cup run. So cold. Sucks it didn’t end that game though…
Thanks Darren Helm!
I love it.
Honestly it’s WAY to early to handicap the Hart for this season. MacKinnon’s definitely high up on the watch-list, though.
He absolutely deserves a Hart. His game reminds me of Peter Forsberg. Only he can do even more.
I watched it live and on the third goal for the avs, i think moser broke the mic xD
'The Dog" Nathan Mackinnon deserves the Hart Trophy, the way he's been playing.
The Mack attack is back JACK
I love how physical he's also been this season!
props to McKinnon
I totally respect MacKinnons game and the way he continues to improve what seems every year. Him and McDavid are my two favorites and I really want another rematch between them in the playoffs 👏
If he stays mostly healthy the awards are all his
In the month of December, if Mack scored just one more point, he would be exactly two points per game player. 29 points in 15 games. Helluva acceleration from the previous month
The avs tv and radio guys are awesome
So happy for Drouin
If you like Moser, you should hear our radio guy, Connor McGahey. Man is a treasure.
MacKinnon is unmatched, Put him on the ice with anyone. Hes the best
The Mac Attack!
Marc Moser is an old buddy going way back, and he is the sweetest and funniest guy I know.
Mac typically starts really slow scoring the puck, the fact that he's already in the 20s for goals means he could EXPLODE in the second half and take the Rocket Richard home
This video is aging well.
MacKinnon puts up 2 goals and 3 assists today.
Great hockey talk Johnny👍 You know ur stuff. That's why MacKinnon makes the big bucks😄😁
Nathan MacPlayoffs.
Mac is easily number two, and sometimes number one, in the league. Matthews and his ilk couldn't hold Mac's jockdstrap, quite frankly.
Mac dancing on the ice love it
HES GOT THAT DOGG IN HIM
Watching his entire career unfold, the last few years have been truly special.
HUH?.... McDavid has no compete, intensity?.... HOLY SH*T!!!!... if you're not on drugs, you should really start.
I know a lot of hockey experts would disagree with you 4) Yah, like I'm going to go back and watch playoff games
Try get out of your bubble, and watch more than just the Avs. I watch other teams as well, just not the Oilers.... CLOWN!!!!
No. 1K 👍 from Nova Scotia. Great clip!
He’s prone to injury because of the pace he plays the game. Just has to stay healthy and he could finish at the top. 🤷🏻♂️
Love the Mack Love !!!!!!
people ragging on MacKinnon need to sit TF down and just watch hockey.......
I'd love Mack to win the Art Ross but I can't see him shaking off Kucherov or McDavid. There are 14 players on pace for 100 points (which shockingly doesn't include Draisaitl!). I'd expect 12 to make it this year
MacKinnon for hart!
Same exact play happened in the Rangers Blackhawks game last night . Off of Kreiders skate with no kicking motion
Nate Dawg deserves it! ;-)
Why do we always choke big leads against the avs
Nate is wildly underrated
Avs announcers get hate since they're homers but if you look past that they are absolutely hilarious.
@@DorianHolmesGuitar It's an av's home broadcast, of course they're homers.
@@Lobosalsa9exactly, never understood that argument for any announcer lol
@@DorianHolmesGuitar I agree, started listening to the road games on the radio during the pandemic and love the funny nicknames they give the players. Both the TV and radio guys are so much fun to listen to😊
I love when you upload!!! Keep up the content
MVP. best 5 on 5 pts more than mcnuggets pp specilaist
One of the few athletes that can control the pace of the game.
For the fourth year in a row Colorado have a most curious schedule. This is not a criticism of any player, rather their curious schedule. Fascinating who they play. Investigate same if you have the guts.
Dog's gotta eat!
I sub'd today because you're giving Nate some credit. This guy is neck and neck with Connor McDavid but on a cup contending team. A healthy Avs team and with Toews locker room leadership & Makkar just a bad ass all around, they should really be a cup contender. My dream is a Bruins / Avs Final(Growing up in Maine and now living in Colorado for 23 yrs). Possible, maybe... Can you imaging being a fly on the wall in each of those locker rooms...
His plus minus also sets him so far apart. No one plays 5 on 5 hockey as well as this guy
Mack is the best player in the world so far this year.
avs announcers are the biggest homers, and i love it
You gotta' be Mackidden me
Nate MVP!
Stars allowed MacKinnon a breakaway in o.t.. very bad idea😅😅
Nova Scotia machine never breaks
Hall robbed Mack of a Hart already. Only things that will stop him this year are an injury or McDavid going bananas
McJesus will still win the Art.
Best player in the world is just a race between the Macs...no question about it.
Kucherov would like a word. Edit:ok i see you talked about him here to lol
I always had MacKinnon as the 2nd best player on the planet for some time now. Still think McDavid will overtake everyone in scoring by seasons end. Already thought this even when McJesus was like 80 something in scoring. If McDavid wasn't so good, then MacKinnon would easily be the best player on the planet (with Kucherov challenging him though).
....and he can fight!
You haven't given my boy enough attention... period.
It's McDavid all day
I hope Nate dogg can get the most or second most point this season
his career has been so weird, like the longest development Ive ever seen......Mcdavid will win art ross no doubt
Indeed I am also happy for Drouin. Colorado is loaded. They are the worst team to face in the first round.
thats what a blink 182 guy looks like now? dang
