    Just getting through the 2017/2018 holiday season, and I made a mulled apple cider. Very tasty!
    4 Cups (1 Litre) of Apple Juice
    8-ish Cups (2 Litres) of Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Tea
    4 Cinnamon sticks
    Ground cloves, to taste (just a dash or two is good)
    2 Oranges, sliced into Rounds (cut each orange into 3 slices)...stick 8 or so whole cloves into each of the orange rounds
    1/2 to 1 Cup of Jack Daniels Winter Jack apple beverage or other apple whisky liqueur
    Sugar or sweetener to taste (I made candied orange rind for garnishes, and just used the left over orange-infused simple syrup...probably about 1/4 cup)
    Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer. Keep on the stove or make it in a Crock Pot. Serve with a marishcino cherry or 3 in the mug!

      Even their more basic Rye is really good to sip. It's smoother than a cheap Scotch Blend, way better than other american whisky/bourbon stuff in my opinion.

    Yes, great example of good Canadian Whisky. Wait until this coming fall when they release Lot 40 12 year cask strength and the Wiser's 35 year, 50% ABV among others.
    Maybe Alberta Distilleries will start releasing some of their aged big proof Rye's instead of shipping it off to Whistle Pig, Masterson's Rye and Cooper Spirits to name a few.

    I was unable to get this whiskey in Vancouver Canada, but I was able to get the Last bottle currently available in BC of JP Wisers Union 52. Which is a blend of a 52 year old highland malt whiskey and the 16 year old. I wonder if it is similar to your blend of wisers and dalmore.

    i was putting some aberlour 16 years into a decanter, after washing the decanter it had some water stuck in it that i couldnt dry so i decided to clean it up with a little bit of Hudson baby bourbon (its not good), afteri put the aberlour in it, i smelled it and its the very powerful coconut, and i recreated after that, aberlour 16 with a tiny dash of hudson baby bourbon generates this strong coconut note that i couldnt pick up before, and leaves with a sensation of having a bounty bar, try it maybe? you have hudson baby bourbon its in your website.

    I think I have a mooch story that will make even Rex jealous. So I got into whiskey through my uncle, whenever I go to visit him and my cousins he gives me a different type of bourbon. I was never a big whiskey guy but I soon learned how amazing and enjoyable whiskey can be and recently I have wanted to branch out and try different types of whiskeys. I gravitated to scotch and my first bottle I bought was Laphroaig 10, which I love, I sent him a picture of my purchase and he responded and I quote, "Nice, you're going to be my scotch expert! I can fund your research." Not only do I get free whiskey whenever I see him but my uncle will literally pay me to buy whiskey. So now I ask, what should my next 'research' project be?

    • @FightStealDrink
      @FightStealDrink 7 лет назад

      Steven Hild, you're a mooch savant! That's really cool, and there are dozens of ways to "branch out". Are you up for anything, or looking for variations on a couple favorites?

    I was wondering if storing bottles on their side affects the whisky more than storing them right side up as there is more surface for contact with the air. Could this make a big difference when there's only a little left? Also, will moving an almost empty whisky to a smaller container prolong its life? I know you'll probably just say "finish the damn whisky" but will this help when your bottle gets low? Any other whisky storing tips would be appreciated as I'm starting to accumulate a few bottles and I don't want to affect the taste. Cheers, Cole

    • @FightStealDrink
      @FightStealDrink 7 лет назад +2

      Cole Anderson, keep it vertical. The alcohol will eat the cork a lot more quickly if the bottle is on its side. Also, yes it will last longer if you put the whiskey in a smaller container. (Less air in contact with the whiskey)

      We're close to achieving terminal velocity for mooching. at that point, i'll just walk into the vault and daniel immediately starts pouring me whiskeys directly through a funnel.

    I've fallen asleep inadvertently multiple times while watching in bed, just ask my wife. Ill wake up with the headphones practically choking me to death, zero battery and have to search the blankets for my phone.

    I'm not sure that robe is helping your moochitude, Rex. After all, Daniel was able to mooch the Hat of Generosity. ;)
