Dude! Thanks for the shout out and the correct pronunciation of the last name, most people butcher it! Glad that you think highly of me, the feeling is mutual. BTW I broke down and bought a bottle of Angels Envy last night and wasn't disappointed. Keep up the good work guys!
I want over to my local liquor shop yesterday with a friend to pick up a new bottle of monkey shoulder because it's a good blend that's why. next to it they had a compass box great king street for $25. figuring for that price it was worth grabbing me and my friend both got a bottle of it and went up to the register to pay. after ringing us up the cashier asked if we wanted it in a bag and my friend responded with no just leave it in the bottle
hahahahah. your friend is awesome. On a side note, that Great King Street is lovely. The "Artist blend" variation of it is good too. Slightly friendlier.
This is one the great things about this channel. Daniel, Rex, it's a real service to humanity you're doing. You're making us all better...PEOPLE, at 7:29
The toast! I'm having so much fun starting from the beginning and watching all of your episodes. I found you guys maybe... 2 months ago? So, long after all of the donation rituals, and the toasts and everything currently has been figured out and set, so it's been cool to go through and find the beginnings of all of these things.
I just found the Allardice near my (finally)... I tried adding some Quinta Ruban but I actually liked the Allardice on its own better than the "poor man's" blend of Mcallan M
Hello gentleman. As my whiskey addiction (I mean affection) grows, I decided that I needed to experience something a little meaner. Most of my selections up to this point have been within the ‘friendly’ category (Glenfiddich 15, Monkey Shoulder, Macallan, Glenlivet 12, Greenspot, various bourbons, etc). You guys have talked quite a bit about peat and how interesting it is. I decided to go all in and just pick up a bottle of Laphroaig 10. It was relatively cheaper than the other types of peated whiskey at the shop. I will never forget hearing the cork pop and immediately getting hit with the aroma. It was brutally violent but oddly beautiful. I poured myself a dram and just sat with it for around five minutes. I kept bringing it up to my nose trying to pick apart what I could. There was so much going on, it was a sensory overload! After taking that first sip I knew the only mistake I made, was waiting so long to try it. I loved every bit of it! Campfire, seaweed, that lingering finish… It was absolutely amazing. My whiskey life will never be the same!! Thanks for putting out this great content every day and subtly giving your viewers a nudge to experience things they may not have considered.
I LOVE it when you guys do "poor mans" type stuff. I mean $130-$150ish here for Allardice is still a little out of my reach here . . . . But one day I get the feeling I could enjoy it. $4000+ however . . . . . yeah, that's not happening haha
what would happen if u add some bourbon for the raisin and color maybe another 5 to 10 percent love all the poor mans versions hopefully the still it gods could push them to try this again ps still it do u get more of the green \ sour note in the heads or tails when your making your cuts
Today really sucked but i finally got the notification this posted as i was leaving work...all is right in the world again...well my world anyway! Cheers and thanks for vids, keep up the good work!
So you guys got me into blending whiskeys, and I found that Aberlour 12 double wood and Buffalo Trace (at about a 4:1 ratio) resolves quite nicely in a way I wouldn't expect.
I will always love experiments and alchemy in the service of finding cheap and accessible versions of super rare, expensive whiskeys. Thanks to a friend I recently got to try some high end ($120+) whiskeys, and thankfully for my bank balance I wasn't overwhelmed with any of them enough to be tempted to justify the price tags. But the curiosity of just how good the Pappys of the world really are will always be there
Come on Daniel and Rex....Make a contest to attend the Whiskey Marketing School Level One Certification and Join You Guys for an Episode of Whiskey Vault..That would be AWESOME!!!!
GunnySGT1911, i'm totally in for a guest from the community pouring the whiskey. The only issue is shooting time. It's completely random, and we usually don't know we're going to shoot until about 30minutes before the cameras turn on.
Yeah. I was like "This is it! This is where it begins!" Pretty cool that it was in the video for the poor man's Macallan M. 161 goes down as one of the most important videos.
Damn you Rex and Daniel. If it wasn't for your show, I probably would have never had the urge to try Single Malt scotch, for which I have had my first tasting of this past weekend at a cigar bar (A Dalmore 12 in fact, which is around $70 a bottle in my area). And I love it! So damn you guys for making a broke college student's dreams come true and crushed at the same time! So cheers and keep making the show that we all love!
Hey Rex and Daniel, Since Macallan M is coming up a lot lately and has a bottle, and case, to match the price tag I was wondering what are some of your guys favorite bottle and label designs and what are some whiskeys that have the largest disparity between appearance and taste? Thanks.
I'm loving your own mixes to try and match a whiskey, you should make it a 'thing'. It's a cool process to watch, as well as helping us to see what different flavours are like when combined.
Best Part about being out of town for 5 days I get 3 new episodes. Now I could be completely wrong here but you were saying you were looking for plum and I get plum out of angel's envy.
This was really a great show. But one thing about the water. I think that after distillation next to nothing of the water used in mashing the grain remains in the whisky. Especially minerals should be left behind. Much more influence has the water used in the bottling plant when the strength is reduced to drinking levels. But i heard the the water used here is either filtered or even demineralized to avoid changing the taste of the product. Are there distillers who use the same water for the whole process?
The water you use in the mash has a huge affect on the outcome. And it's a very common thing for distillers in the US to use the same water source from beginning to end. The other thing that Scotland and Kentucky have in common is a high mineral content water source (Limestone mostly) as the basis for the whisky. It definitely improves the whole process from mash and distilling to aging.
You guys need to focus a secondary camera on the garbage can so we know if Rex is actually sinking those crumpled up papers or not. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT WORRY ME
You got a lot of bottles stacked up in the background. After opening one, how long after should you finish it off so that you don't lose any flavor in the last pour? I heard about six months. Can you really taste the difference? This is giving me a good excuse to finish off my current stock :)
My rule is always open it. I do that first the moment I get a whisky so I'm not tempted to sit on it. Whisky is for drinking. The memories created drinking it will last longer than the magic of opening it. My biggest recommendation is to create a special circumstance that requires the opening of the bottle in small increments. For example, we have a small wedding chapel on the property, and I have a rule to always share the bottle of 25yr Bunnahabhain I have with anyone who has been involved in a wedding ceremony at the chapel. It's lasted a full year, and the memories are amazing.
Whiskey Vault I agree. I just needed that friendly push. I like that you brought up bunnahabin. Are their older whiskeys peated? Or more complex? I find the 12 (the only one I have had) to be a bit less than exiting.
Id really love to see a video on the Kikori Japanese whisky as its not one of the many out of the Yamazaki family of distilleries to my knowledge. also kudos on helping us laymans get closer to that Macallan M greatly appreciate that
I was trying out Bulliet Bourbon as I watched today's show. I was picking up toffee/butterscotch sweetness, some spice/pepper notes, hint of cinnamon, some woodiness, and something I couldn't put my finger on. Then suddenly in the video you said "walnuts," and that indistinct flavor became black walnut. The darn thing is, I'm sure it wasn't black walnut until I heard you say it. But now I can't get it out of my head. I have to try it again later. Good example of priming.
GunnySGT1911 I had a similar experience here at work as I was tasting a particular rare bourbon. There was something I couldn't quite nail down and the flavor/aroma I was relating to was permanent marker. Then one of my colleagues was talking about it and he said acetone (nail polish remover) and then it clicked. I knew I was close but wasn't there until he said that and as soon as I heard that it all became clear.
First off. Tasting a bourbon at work....well played, sir, well played. lol The thing is, I wasn't tasting black walnut. It was something else completely. I was trying to identify it, but when I heard Daniel say, "walnut," it completely overwrote what I was experiencing to the point I could hardly taste anything else. Its funny that you mentioned acetone. When I first smelled the Bulliet, was immediately transported back to my childhood, Halloween, 1978. I just put on my Spiderman costume and my nose was full of that fresh vinyl smell. It was a total flashback. I suspect it was the first concentrated ethanol vapors escaping from the glass that did it. After than I got vanilla, cinnamon and toffee on the nose. But that first smell..... The human brain is an amazing thing. Then add in amazing whiskey and anything can happen. Cheers!
It took me completely off my guard. I was totally unprepared for how powerful a sensation it created. It totally overwrote what I was tasting to the point I couldn't recall just what exactly it was. Now hours later, I tried it again and I'm left thinking something to do with thanksgiving/pumpkin pie.....until I thought about black walnut and completely over shadowed my experience again. Thanks a lot Daniel. lol I'll consider it a fair trade for how much I've learned from watching your videos.
Today the Glendronach 18 costs around $160 USD. What really makes it special is that the distillery was shut down for 5 years when it was distilled. When the distillery reopened they had to market the whiskey as 18 instead of 23 because of those 5 years they were closed. So any 18 yr old Gelndronach you buy today is actually 23 yr. Plus it's tasty as hell. A lot of nice spice - sage, thyme, orange, Christmas cake, musty notes - a beautiful whisky
Hey rex and dannyboy a friend of mine has birthday soon and wants to try whiskey and i cant dicide what to bring him as a gift. He likes sweet and fruity liquor so i thought about the classic gifts like glenfiddich or chivas12. Any other ones i should think about? But not to expensive for i am a natural mooch.
Whiskey Vault thanks guys. He said he allready tried standard jacky so i thaught about a fruity burbon. Do you know something like this? Btw i really enjoy how you stay close to your fanbase. And rex maybe your wife wont like this but you look more like a mooch with a longer/wilder beard, because nothing says more "gimme yer booze" like a viking beard :D
$86?? Geez, I wish... 3 years later, good luck finding GlenDronach 18 for anything under $150.. That being said, I'd say it's still worth it. One of the finest bottles of Scotch in my collection, and that's coming from a peat-head.
Nice review. Just got two bottles of this, if you can find it could you do a comparison to the Glendronach 15 revival (2015 bottling preferably) ? Those are running for twice MSRP at auctions now.
I’ve tried many many different whiskey brands at many price ranges. Macallan M is unmatched in my opinion. But there definitely are brands/bottles that can come somewhat close.
I see what you did there :D My findings are as follows; The Yamazaki 12 is a great whisky. The Longmorn 15 is orgasmic. I shall me sending my paper out for peer review, expect to see it published in a whisky review magazine or something later in the year.
You should really check out Arbelour A'bunadh! It'a sherry whisky, but very smooth and complex, even though it's cheaper and stronger than Allerdice (around 60%). And Clynelish raw cask, sherry not bourbon butt
Hey guys. Great job mooch and puddin'. Those comments/questions/recommendations you read from the paper towards the end, are they from people emailing you guys or just from RUclips? Cheers. May your whiskey never be risky.
Ok ace. My first ever bourbon was rock town Arkansas whiskey. It was a sample from the drinks by the dram people. I searched on here and couldn't see it. Wonder if you've thought about doing it? I did definitely Taste some cooling mint. Was shocked as that's something I thought I'd never get in whiskey but that's bourbon for you and was during my first entry into the world of whisk(e)y. Thanks.
I finally got to the episode where the origin of the tribe toast was submitted! Also, now I can maybe blend up something similar to the legendary Macallan M!! Cheers to you magnificent bastards!!

What would it do if you dropped in a few drops of a plum brandy? Would that add the final notes it would need? I know it's heresy. I'm just curious if it would work.
Two comments: 1. I had the pleasure of trying the Allardice this past weekend and can see why it is such an appealing dram 2. I've been using the fighting, stealing, cheating, and drinking toast all weekend, with great success...i mooched your toast :-)
Rex, Daniel it is time for the ultimate Moochy story but first... It hurt my soul to see you soil that GlenDronach Allardice 18 with Glenmorangie. For shame 😉 So a few years back I was getting a tattoo from my buddy who's a talented artist and it was his 40th Birthday. He knowing I was a scotch fan told me about his birthday bottle, a Glenfarclas 40yr. I of course inquired to its quality and he happened to have it in shop and knowing I am a huge scotch fan offered a generous sample. I exclaimed my delight for the malt and reverence for his generosity and asked if it was the "best" or "oldest" bottle in his collection to which he relied, "I don't think so." And continued to pull down a Dallas Dhu 1975 (32yr) old malt cask bottling, a 30yr Jura and an Old Pulteney 30yr. Rex, if you're wishing to up your Mooch level, I'm available for lessons. 😉 Slainte Mhath
Been shopping today and bought a GlenDronach 12 and a Tullibardine Sauterne Finish. I am not sure about the latter. It's really whitewine heavy in it's taste and has a really aggressive mouthfeel. Has no age statement so it has to be real young to be so alcohol heavy in taste. You guys know where this is going? Review the Tullibardine 225 please!
Regarding your "favor to the distillery" comment, from what I have heard and read, distilleries have to purchase their own products from a distributor like everybody else. They don't simply send a case to the gift shop instead of putting it on a truck. This is second hand from a friend who asked about $70 bottles of Willett Rye at the gift shop when they are $50 at a store down the street.
Episode idea number 2 - If you guys were to be stranded on a desert island 'castaway' style with a Wilson soccer ball and only one bottle of whisky from the vault, which would it be.
I imagine at first you both pick the bottle you each would personally take to a desrt island, and then you have to find a compromise that you both like. Desert Island Whisk(e)y's.
I think its about 200$ in the 3 states (2 are abc states and sell at msrp) I've seen it recently after finding this video. Damn MB's bought up the whole supply blending the poor mans M...
Because the distillery was closed for a period which the 18 year old currently falls in, the whisky in the 18 is a few years older than advertised on the bottle (like 20+ years). Get a bottle soon before this hiccup caused by the closure passes.
Cannot find the Allardice anywhere in Melbourne at the moment. Had I known it would be so difficult to find I wouldn’t have polished off a whole bottle on New Year’s Eve lol
Going back to the question about prices at the distillery vs. at the liquor store, I have some interesting first hand experience. I live in Kentucky and have gone to almost all of the major bourbon distilleries and I have found that the distillery is more expensive than the liquor store every single time. That being said, I go to places like Total Wine, that are the size of supermarkets and make their name on cheap prices. If you go to the corner store, then they are a little more expensive than the distillery. TLDR, Do the bourbon trail in Kentucky and then go to Total Wine and buy the bourbon for about 20% cheaper than the distillery sells it for.
greataxe3 I have to disagree slightly. Our gift shop is competitive, if not cheaper on one particularly harder to find single barrel bourbon. It averages for about $65.00 retail, but we sell it for around $56.00.
Chris Boggess I'm raking my brain trying to figure out what bourbon you are talking about. I'm getting ready to do the bourbon trail again next month for my birthday. If I see you, I'll ask you to point it out to me. On a slightly related note, the last two distilleries I want to were Woodford and Four Roses and I found that they followed the MSRP for their products. Does your distillery follow MSRP?
greataxe3 I'd prefer to not divulge where I work, but I can assure you it's an award winning distillery, and this particular bourbon is one that is beginning to become harder to find.
Chris Boggess I definitely understand wanting privacy on the internet. I specifically didn't guess what whiskey I thought it was, as I wasn't sure if you wanted to answer that. Also, if you can, go to Total Wine. The other retailers in my area are having trouble competing with their prices. It's awesome.
But Glendronach isn't peated? It's for sure a sherry bomb. With Macallan, I always get a lot of fruit too but that heavy oak as well. They just use more expensive wood.
If you keep letting him mooch the Macallan, pretty soon it's gonna be Macallan MT. Lol That's a clever jab at saying it's gonna be empty. Get it? MT. What about adding some Dalmore to the blend for the remaining 20%? Rex says it's missing the dark fruit and plum notes. To me, that's all Dalmore! And I'm the Whisky Saint, not priest. Big difference! ;)
Whiskey Vault That's why I'm a Whisky Saint and you're just a lowly sommelier. They're kinda like Saint wannabes. Haha! Add the Dalmore and let us know how it turned out. Most of us won't have an opportunity to do an AB comparison so we need your direct assurance that it's similar.
The “M” stands for Mooch. I picked up the dronach 18 because I loved the Macallan 25 I mooched but can’t afford. Which dalmore might I try blending in?
Poured myself a little whisky at 3AM to celebrate the synthesis of Moochallan M. Worth it.
Dude! Thanks for the shout out and the correct pronunciation of the last name, most people butcher it! Glad that you think highly of me, the feeling is mutual. BTW I broke down and bought a bottle of Angels Envy last night and wasn't disappointed. Keep up the good work guys!
Glad you're around!

I love how every time i put a dad joke i only get a reply from you like rex is just so disappointed in me that he won't talk to me
password 789, it's like you're... Dead. To. Me. 😉
This is one the great things about this channel. Daniel, Rex, it's a real service to humanity you're doing. You're making us all better...PEOPLE, at 7:29

I just found the Allardice near my (finally)... I tried adding some Quinta Ruban but I actually liked the Allardice on its own better than the "poor man's" blend of Mcallan M
Literally a few drops of water in the Allardice knocks those dusty/overwooded notes and brings out more fruit.
Hello gentleman. As my whiskey addiction (I mean affection) grows, I decided that I needed to experience something a little meaner. Thanks for putting out this great content every day and subtly giving your viewers a nudge to experience things they may not have considered.
Daniel Bileci if you want a "mean" whisky, not many are meaner than Stagg Jr. It's barrel proof uncut, unfiltered, and really aggressive.
This is exactly how I feel about Laphroaig. Love this writeup.
I LOVE it when you guys do "poor mans" type stuff.
I mean $130-$150ish here for Allardice is still a little out of my reach here . . . . But one day I get the feeling I could enjoy it. $4000+ however . . . . . yeah, that's not happening haha
what would happen if u add some bourbon for the raisin and color maybe another 5 to 10 percent
love all the poor mans versions hopefully the still it gods could push them to try this again
ps still it do u get more of the green \ sour note in the heads or tails when your making your cuts
Well then what you do is.......
Ten bottles of Allardice mix in one bottle of Quinta Ruban.....
I’m headin to the store, bout one third cheaper!
Rex, you're a mooch genius
You guys amaze me with how you can mix and match until you make a more expensive whiskey. Love what you guys do.
Damn, that was a cool toast at the end
Cheers
Skål!
Yup nice toast dude!
Jason Fisk amazing toast
I'll drink with him. Cheers.
Today really sucked but i finally got the notification this posted as i was leaving work...all is right in the world again...well my world anyway! Cheers and thanks for vids, keep up the good work!
Glad we could help!
Love when Daniel "Level 3 Somm" dumps Whisk(e)y in his mouth straight from the bottle like a Whino, love that guy.
Scott’s ending is priceless. Good man Scott!
So you guys got me into blending whiskeys, and I found that Aberlour 12 double wood and Buffalo Trace (at about a 4:1 ratio) resolves quite nicely in a way I wouldn't expect.
Love this. time to try it.
Brilliant !! First Rex quotes me at lunch , now i make the comment reads on the show.... This calls for a drink , Shine on you Crazy Diamonds, Sláinte
Thomas Murphy I know how you feel! Was blown away when I heard my name! I'm RUclips famous now 😂.
I will always love experiments and alchemy in the service of finding cheap and accessible versions of super rare, expensive whiskeys. We already have that contest. It's called. PAY ME $4000. :-).....
Whiskey Vault, brutality score... 9/10. aaaaahhhhhshahahahaa! 😂
Haha! Thats awesome! You win!!!
Or just a guest spot on the show. Heck, I'd do it just to pour your drinks. Today's Guest Whiskey Boy is.......
GunnySGT1911, i'm totally in for a guest from the community pouring the whiskey. The only issue is shooting time. It's completely random, and we usually don't know we're going to shoot until about 30minutes before the cameras turn on.
Its the first time we hear the Fighting, Stealing, and drinking toast! I am working my way through the videos and catching up. Cheers!
Right behind you
Andrew Ryan 3rd here behind you too
Yeah. I was like "This is it! This is where it begins!"
Pretty cool that it was in the video for the poor man's Macallan M. 161 goes down as one of the most important videos.
Yeah watched tonnes of videos and now just saw this for the first time
Late to the show but same here
Was planning on buying Quinta Ruban next week. Now i feel like I have to add in the Allardice
Damn you Rex and Daniel. Our job is done here.
Hey Rex and Daniel, Since Macallan M is coming up a lot lately and has a bottle, and case, to match the price tag I was wondering what are some of your guys favorite bottle and label designs and what are some whiskeys that have the largest disparity between appearance and taste? Thanks.
Almost all my favorite labels are from Compass Box
Both ordered... You have a way bigger collection than me. Keep blending to see what else takes it closer. 👍🏻
Top job lads. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
you guys are just incredible. I love your sense of humor, and man I am definitely trying this poor man's M. I am excited thank you!
I do too.
I'll have to look for that on my newly acquired bottle.
This was really a great show.

160+ videos in the last week. I'm in too deep to stop. DAMN YOU!
shhhhhh.. just let it happen...
Sold!! I got a bottle of Quinta Ruben. I just need to find the GlenDronach. I'll add this to my "whiskeyperiments".
You guys need to focus a secondary camera on the garbage can so we know if Rex is actually sinking those crumpled up papers or not. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT WORRY ME
We shot again today. he missed every single shot.
Ryan Taylor, I'm the Jordan of garbage can shots.
You got a lot of bottles stacked up in the background. After opening one, how long after should you finish it off so that you don't lose any flavor in the last pour? I heard about six months. Can you really taste the difference? This is giving me a good excuse to finish off my current stock :)
If it's mostly full, you have years if it's properly sealed. If it's under halfway you have 6-8 months. If it's mostly empty if you have months.
I got a bottle of Aberlour 17 cask strength special edition at the distillery. Should I open it? I fear I may never be able to get another one.
My rule is always open it. I do that first the moment I get a whisky so I'm not tempted to sit on it.

Charlie is too good for this world. too pure, too generous
Really important work you guys are doing here. Keep it up!

Yeah, perk of working where it's made. Someone has to taste it before it gets shipped.
perfect. This happens to me all the time.

David Pinsent last black friday bought x 3 for 79.99€ in Netherlands + 1 parlament for 95.99€.
Went on holiday. Came back. COLOUR IN THE THUMBNAIL!
We's gettin fancy
Whiskey Vault I like it!
Yeah, go for the heavy sherry cask whisky. Macallan or glendronach. Or head to irish and get green spot or jameson cask mates.
2022 and it's 200$ 2018 bottling though
The best toast so far.
the parliament 21 is absolute one of my fav
Impressive move, Rex. Koodos to you and remembering! I need to find me a bottle of poor man's McCallan M! hahaha
Have you guys done a review & tasting for Cedar Ridge whiskies or bourbons? I'm from Iowa, so they're local and I've always kept a bottle on hand.
We have them! We'll do a video on them. One of our students brought a whole range to us.
WAIT!
I need to pour a drink... Shall it be a Yamazaki 12, or my new Longmorn 15?
You used my toast... AWESOME! Now I must have another beverage.
Why not both?
Belfry both for science!!
Okay, both, but only because of science ;P
Yeah! That's the *spirit* . Let us know your scientific findings afterward.
I see what you did there :D
My findings are as follows;
The Yamazaki 12 is a great whisky.
The Longmorn 15 is orgasmic.
I shall me sending my paper out for peer review, expect to see it published in a whisky review magazine or something later in the year.
Well there goes another hundred plus bucks because of you two! Time to mix some Macallan M!
With your love of experimental blending, I'm surprised you guys don't have an infinity bottle on the shelf.
We have a 5 liter cask with 36 whiskies in it so far. It's called "Blendaggedon"
Whiskey Vault was there any blendaggedon improvement with even more time?
Not really the spirit of an infinity bottle...... :)
You should really check out Arbelour A'bunadh! It'a sherry whisky, but very smooth and complex, even though it's cheaper and stronger than Allerdice (around 60%). And Clynelish raw cask, sherry not bourbon butt
We did! ruclips.net/video/zASlTnxdfAM/видео.html
mooching for the community! awesome!
Hey guys. Great job mooch and puddin'. Those comments/questions/recommendations you read from the paper towards the end, are they from people emailing you guys or just from RUclips? Cheers. May your whiskey never be risky.
Tom Cottee, thanks! It's RUclips comments.
These are just in the comments of RUclips!
Thanks.
Did you just send us this whisky? I got a bottle of it in the mail today with no note.
Nope. Not from me. Enjoy whatever it is.
I'm just curious if it would work.
we love this kind of heresy
Glendronach 15 year old revival is my favourite!
Two comments:
1. I had the pleasure of trying the Allardice this past weekend and can see why it is such an appealing dram
For shame 😉
So a few years back I was getting a tattoo from my buddy who's a talented artist and it was his 40th Birthday.
Slainte Mhath
That sounds terrifying.
I imagine at first you both pick the bottle you each would personally take to a desrt island, and then you have to find a compromise that you both like. Desert Island Whisk(e)y's.
I wonder what you think of the late 2019/early 2020 bottle glendronach 18
Couple more years of maturation could narrow that gap here
I think its about 200$ in the 3 states (2 are abc states and sell at msrp) I've seen it recently after finding this video. Damn MB's bought up the whole supply blending the poor mans M...
Hey guys, I wonder how allardice mixed with a little mac 18 would compare. Macallan has a distinct note and this mix may work.
The Allardice is my favourite whisky!
Did you get talisker storm yet? If not I may be able to help ya out.
joe orr hey you can help me out too if you're feeling generous lol
We have the storm, although we're always up for more. Just can't seem to find the Dark Storm.
Hey guys first of all: Big fan! Second; By the end of the year I actually will be in Texas (I'm from Germany). Any whisky-tips for me?
Just roam around and try things!
Damn is this the episode that spawned the toast? As in THE toast?
I found prichards at a local grocery store are they back in business
They've been going non-stop, just ran out of whisky at one point. What did you think about it?
Whiskey Vault haven't cracked it open yet I was making sure it wasn't something rare lol also where can I send u guys some scotch
I found a bottle of the glendronach 21 and I’m trying to find the 18. My question is how much of a difference is there between the two?
Guys, have you ever done Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon? I'd like to hear your reviews on it.
It's on the list!
Please review Talisker Skye - I was sitting there with a numb mouth and a huge grin from ear to ear - Awesome - ATB
could you guys do a review of the Arran malt, i saw it in the background of one of your older videos and i went there on a geology trip
Love Arran. It's on the list.
Have you guys done the four roses small batch? Could you?
it's on the list!
Shit! I just remembered I didn't do a bottle down ceremony while I was on vacation. What's the procedure now?
Humm "it's raining men" while sipping the last of it.
Whiskey Vault That's what I forgot to do!
which Quinta Ruban should i be sourcing.... the 12 or the 14?
And the toast was born!
excellent! you definitely have the most experimental interesting straight forward reviews : ))) great team! ty!
How did it compare with the New Glenmorangie quinta ruban?
Because the distillery was closed for a period which the 18 year old currently falls in, the whisky in the 18 is a few years older than advertised on the bottle (like 20+ years). Get a bottle soon before this hiccup caused by the closure passes.
You do not know how happy you make poor folks like us when you do poor mans version. Thank you good sirs.
Gledronach 18 Allardice vs Glendronach 16 Platinum, which is better?
Another item you forgot to mention that increases cost are tariffs. Especially now that they put a high tariff on whiskey.
Where did you find this for $86? Thanks
I wish I could find these in the liquor stores near me :/. Never thought Wisconsin would betray me.
at least you have cheese.
To go with that whine...Sorry couldn't resist. I feel your pain. I live in Kentucky and hardly find any of the really good bourbons.
Cannot find the Allardice anywhere in Melbourne at the moment. Had I known it would be so difficult to find I wouldn’t have polished off a whole bottle on New Year’s Eve lol
Man if you get on to some let me know, also in Melbourne here. Cheers!
Oh and I was looking for the list someone put up a few weeks ago of all your reviews. Can't find it. Can anyone help please? Thanks
It's on our resource page!
austinwhiskyvault.com/viewer-submitted-resources/
Are you guys able to do or recommend a smooth sweet whisky?
Green Spot
TX whiskey
Well late to the video, but the ending toast may have been the best I have seen in a lot of the videos here. Skol!
Do a review on oban 14 vs oban 18
Everyone makes videos of beginner bourbons, but what are your suggestions for complex and advanced bourbons?
It's awesome.
greataxe3 the closest one of those is in Louisville, I'm closer to Lexington. Next time I'm up that way I may swing in.
Awesome video as always...
Breaks my heart; can't find Glendronach in Australia 😢
Also I have bad news for you Daniel, Rex is definitely going to be making a boat load of Macallan M comparisons 😂
😏
which Quinta Ruban was that? 12,14, port cask?
$170 now here in Phx.
Hey that Cheers at the end sounds really familiar.
A gift to the world
So this is where the end started, nice...
But Glendronach isn't peated? It's for sure a sherry bomb. With Macallan, I always get a lot of fruit too but that heavy oak as well. They just use more expensive wood.
so if someone takes a class at wizard academy are they officially wizards?
At least in their own minds.
Big difference! ;)
Damn you, you're totally right. I don't know why I didn't think of Dalmore as the missing ingredient.
