Van Halen is the ONLY band that can make a keyboard song absolutely ROCK!!! Every other rock band that tried it fell short and sounded soft. This song is as heavy as any and it keeps its hard edge without loosing anything. Only Eddie Van Halen could do that. Man I miss him so bad.

BakerCars&Hifi I think it sounds better! Drums sound better and you can hear the bass. There was absolutely no bottom end on the OU812 mix which is why they went and got Andy Johns who did a lot of Zeppelin albums for their next record. In an interview for the Carnal Knowledge album Eddie even said finally you can hear the bass and said he for some reason it was never really mixed right on the previous albums. Even after the OU812 they got completely new live gear because they didn’t like the mix live as well. I think it was 1988 and the 80s were still big into that whole synthesizer sound and it was all about the guitar. So even on songs that didn’t have keyboards the bass was tuned down low. In the 90s things changed and bands realized the bass and drums are there for a reason and the guitar sounds better with them two properly mixed in.
Studio version is good, mainly because its a great song. But it lacks depth in the production (no bass). IMO this live version smokes the studio one. Sammy absolutely belts it out here live.
This synth driven soul searcher with definite police(synchronicity) and toto(i bless the rains down in africa) influences, classic VH backing harmonies, and restrained, yet smoldering solo...one of the best of the sammy hagar era.

When the song finished all I thought was: Of course dudes, it's yours: yours all mine!!!
I feel like the other live performance of this song (first video on search results if you type in mine all mine live in the youtube search bar) was the best live version of this song. Eddies guitar was dominant in that performance whereas here and on the album version, the keyboards are dominant which dont sound as good to strong eddie van halen guitar playing.
Too bad these guys couldn't put aside their petty differences and egos to keep on making great music, some of the best in history.. Who knows how many more great albums they could have made..
