@@0509killer Yes, they are. In the chorus you can hear Sammy's voice.although he is not singing, and im yhe part "ooooh mine all mine" you can clearly hear three voices, but you can see only Mike and Eddie singing that part. singing that part.
@@PauloHowlett Clearly, you do not know what true musicianship is. Mikey and Eddie were the backbone of VH harmonies from the beginning. We’ve heard it many times. Michael Anthony never, ever needed backing tracks. Look up Dreams live. He sings every “and higher” response to Sammy live, to preserve Sammy’s voice. Mikey can probably still out-sing every modern vocalist today, even in his advanced age.
Man.. Micheal and Eddie are delivering Beach Boy grade harmony vocals on this while kicking ass on their instruments.. this is why their called the “Mighty VH” 🤘
Hate to break to your but on these live videos, they overdubbed the background vocals to sound better quality. Not saying VH's vocals were bad live but they were NOT at this level. They did the same thing for Live right here and now release.
@@mindeloman you’re probably right… it sounds too slick for live, though I did get the chance to record Sammy and Mike … check out my RUclips channel of my concert mix of Chickenfoot on a Canadian run back in 2009.. no overdubs! I can attest
Nope. The harmonies are abit off from the record. You can hear Ed allot more here and he and Mike are singing these harmonies in abit of a lower register compared to the Mine all Mine from the OU812 record. @@mindeloman
@Markis5150 so you're saying a lower register could not have been produced in a studio? It can only be done live? Ed and Mike couldn't have gone into studio to overdub vocals for a better live mix?
People hated Sammy coming in to sing but he just made VH ten times better with his vocals and him and Eddie I mean Eddie wrote most of DLR records when Sammy came in they just went nuclear with Sammy’s lyrics I miss this band so much it’s so hard not to miss lineup with Sammy it was awesome live
I always love how Sammy misses his cue to come back after the solo. Eddie gives him a look and is like "ummm we're playing to a backing track, can't mess this up' lololol
Eddie was a fast guitar player with innovative chops who was honing his “songwriting.” His creativity exploded when Sammy joined…that took Eddie to another plateau…where Beethoven and Mozart stand.
Alex’s drumming is like a runaway train -AWESOME. And this may be the best live recording I’ve heard of VH. Each of them all sound spectacular LOVE IT!!!
Agree! So much nagging about Alex not beeing tight, on-time, etc. He is swinging and making it groove incredibly, way out away from traditional rock drumming, and that's all positive for me.
Sammy redefined VH and put them back on top. It didn't hurt that Eddie is the guitar god he is of course but Sammy opened them up to a whole new audience and ushered VH into a new era...I grew up on DLR VH but with Sammy, the game was upped on so many levels.
Agree...Its more definitive and descriptive of Eddie than anything. If someone who never heard of him asked what he sounded like, You could play them This solo and it would represent better than anything, Including Eruption.
Sammy always delivers 100%, the best frontman they ever had!!!! I've been to DLR shows and everytime he was half in the bag, struggling to finish the show without falling down.
Agreed, Sam can hold his own. Playing with Eddie? It's hard to even convince the audience you are even playing. Don't get me wrong, I adore Sammy as a front-man and a guitarist, it's just Eddie is in another league. Sam knew this and respected it and made it work to bring VH to one of the greatest Rock bands of all time.
6stringer72 he was still using his Marshall’s live through the ou812 tour. The soldano made its introduction during the recording of F.u.c.k., and then the 5150s were designed as an answer to the slo100 for the subsequent tour
Fuckin Sammy is TIMELESS! I been rocking with him since I was 15! Montrose was the shit in 75! Bad motor scooter, space station, rock candy, etc. He is STILL rockin! Eddie and alex will be long gone, and Sammy will STILL be rocking! He IS the ROCK GOD!
I have many favorite EVH solos depending on the flavor of the tune, but the one from Mine All Mine is one of his most melodic and beautiful solos ever recorded.
I grew up playing OU812 over and over and I swear most of this album just sounds like alt-history VH. The mixing was different, like it was missing a lot of low end or something. The songs were explorers. Underrated song, underrated album!
Spiritual Sammy! To quote Wikipedia on this one: "The deeper metaphysical lyrics to "Mine All Mine" were rewritten seven times, with Hagar saying "it was the first time in my life I ever beat myself up, hurt myself, punished myself, practically threw things through windows, trying to write the lyrics."
Sammy is such an underrated vocalist! Amazing! Same with Alex and Mikey! Eddie was so good he outshined everyone... He didn’t mean to do it. He was just that freekin good! RIP KING EDWARD!
*Thank God we had them in our time in this snapshot of history. Always when the song is newly recorded you'll find your best performances. When they were at the top of their game, when Numbers or Egos mattered least and nothing but intuitive creative expression, masterful song writing, and hard rocking Ruled. And Sammy's and Mike's vocals always blast off the band into The Jamming Stratosphere. Truly missing this Act*
I remember Sammy saying on their next Album (F.U.C.K?) that OU812 wasn't quite complete. I think this was said because OU812 was not all that well accepted by critics. Looking back, OU812 may have been THE very best of Van Halen (Hagar era). The whole album is way ahead of its time.
R.I.P Eddie, such an inspiration, showing myself and millions of others that when you attempt the impossible, you just might be surprised by what 'impossible' things you can do.
I don’t what more you can ask for from a band. Maturing is a part of life. You’re supposed to grow and get better. David Lee Roth was too busy clowning around and staying in the same place to appreciate this kind of songwriting. Sammy was perfect for this time period. If you prefer DLR “singing” half the words and telling the same jokes over and over, well…
Yes wow, agree with all comments on backing vox , like a 2 man choir, not another band exists that could match that quality.......ever. Continues to astound me , and im watching my Tokyo 89 concert for the 237th time.
Edward was the most tight and solid as a rhythm player as he was a lead guitarist. Actually as he grew older he was BETTER as a rhythm player. Here is a perfect example. Man I cannot believe he is no longer with us. Godspeed Edward Van Halen.
Christ what's a man to do !!! Crank up some Good Ole' Sammy era VH and Rock On !! Love The Red Rocker ! Saw him for the first time on New Years Eve 83 in Tacoma Wa. when I was stationed at Ft. Eddie and he brought out the Best in each other ! See you on The Other Side Edward 🔥💖🎸❤🤍🖤
Maybe the most underrated song of the VH/Sammy era.
its high up on the overall VH list
Not to me, this is kickass high energy song. Love it the very first time heard it.
Eric Senich is the Van Halen news desk still up and running?
And the most spiritual.
it's only good sounding when ed played it on guitar not on keyboard.
"STOP LOOKING OUT, START LOOKING IN, BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND, STAND UP AND SAY HEY THIS IS MINE ALL MINE"
Words to live by. LOVE this song.
So true! I love this part the BEST!
Love it 😂
Michael Anthony's background vocals are impeccable.
ten fold- I love the CD...great harmonizing with Eddie too....
because they are likely tracked

Man this Live version is spectacular! Eddie's guitar work is mesmerizing as always. R.I.P. 😥
He is mesmerized while he's playing it.
The live performance of this band is one of the best that ive seen in rock history
Perfection when playing live.
The best live song off of “RH RN” was the “won’t get fooled again” cover.

This is now 30 years old. Crazy!
And spectacular
This is now 35 years old , unbelievable indeed.🤕
These songs and albums still hold up 25+ years later!!! Sammy era stuff was epic and not to be over looked!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion one of the best guitar solos ever on this song from king Ed
Great song
Great band
Sammy is so busy rockin out at 3.00 he forgets to sing
I remember I bought this record right away.... without listening it.... still one of my favorite VH songs.... feel 18 again.....
I was 18 when this album came out. Great song. Very powerfull. Rock on dude!
You´ve never had to listen to any VH record before bought it! It´s "Satsfaction Guranteed" !!!
I had to do an MRI.. they let
me play this cassette 😁

This has to be the most cool guitar solo eddie has made
+crisshalen Check "feelin" live from Balance tour. That has the best Eddie solo ever.
detonator2112 ha! was thinking that too! that is a great song
The solo is my ring tone.
Great solo but I personally like the rhythm part better during "I got something" .
Agree...Its more definitive and descriptive of Eddie than anything. If someone who never heard of him asked what he sounded like, You could play them This solo and it would represent better than anything, Including Eruption.

redhead5150 yeh Sammys the man pure energy to the end ✌️🎶
@Justin Ford what a deluded reply
More talented singer but DLR is arguably the best frontman for VH. More iconic but I am biased as a fan of his stage presence.
Wow the band are so tight and Eddie’s rhythm is unbelievably good!
Ou812 a masterpiece.
I remember a DJ stating that all the hard rockers don't ever smile but Ed does. And the reply was, he knows that he is Eddie Fuckin Van Halen.
Sammy is so incredible as a singer he just blows everybody away and he is an amazing guitar player which I never knew

One of the rare times seeing Alex wearing headphones to play to the click for backing tracks. Very cool
Got to be one of AVH's most insane drum setups;
And his most insane playing.
That double bass pattern I'm still trying to figure out til this day
It’s not double bass
It’s not double bass
It’s not double bass
It's song like this that separates VH from other bands. They're just so much more talented.
This is absolute peak EVH, and all the true afficianados know it!
Eddie is so missed.”❤ “😢
The catchiest song Van Halen ever did!

The bass always lacked in every album IMO especially when templeman produced. A little better in Sammy Era but still thin bass and low end
Was never underrated. Underrated is an over used word. This album got so much air play long after it came out.
God damn I wish to go back to 1989
