Eddie’s smile is so infectious. He just seems like he’s always having a blast on stage
Hell yeah!! Show them G O A T!!!
Best smile on earth or in heaven I should say
Couldn't look into a camera not breaking a smile if his life depended on it 😁 I've never seen a guitar player knee slap laughing while playing either... but Edward did 🤘 havin thA BLAST !
Bscht mum
Agree completely. There’s one man who loved his work and excelled so much at it !!
Never get tired of listening to this awesome song. RIP EVH.
Me too and meaning of Panama lol funny
Master of guitar! Rock in heaven, Eddie van Halen(1955-2020)
Rip
Yhank you Alex.....I am just eating up the drums here..tbis live performance was "miked" perfectly. All footAge of YOU is dynamite. This is manna from heaven. I subscribe😅♥️♥️🎼🎼🎼🎼🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁📼🥁🥁YOWWWWWWWW!?!!!
you see so many guitarists who just shred to show what they can do, Eddie incorporated patient shred into song...perfectly placed moments of what he could do but all for the song's story...a true writing genius he was. That's why he will live forever and not just be swallowed up by today's RUclips 'look what I can do' abyss. Masterful art
Eddie considered himself a SONGWRITER first. That is what separates him and Hendrix from the shredders. They cannot write "Panama" and "The Wind Cries Mary".
@Brian Parboy You bring up a good point. That's why a lot of guitar virtuosos are boring to listen to. Guys like Yngwie Malmsteen don't play songs, they just play endless solos that come off like they're constantly saying "look how great I am." Eddie's playing never came off as arrogant or pretentious, nor was it overbearing either. As Matt Smith said, you could tell that he was a song writer first and that his main focus was writing great music. Nothing about Eddie and his playing said "look at me and what a guitar God I am."
Amen to that! R.I.P. EVH
Eddie had a playful approach that you find in the best jazz players. Eddie and Alex also knew how to swing. Most guitar “virtuosos” miss these elements.
Spot on
2020 has been shit! from Kobe to Eddie. Heart wrenching bookends to a shitty year! R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen. I'm forever grateful to you for the wonderful sound! The soundtrack to my adolescence. With a big fucking smile on my face, I will take your music with me until the bitter sweet end. Thank you!!!!
1usermich kobe's ego got him killed. I'm famous I don't have to sit in the L.A. Freeway traffic. Yeah kobe how'd that work out for you.?
You can be cool but you'll never be "Alex Van Halen playing the drums with a neckbrace" cool.
He is a great drummer player
he’s so underrated too. It will be a sad day when Alex decides to join his brother in heaven...
Not as cool as mullet Michael Anthony
Damn right
Fii go Co m
Just knew from my son that Eddie passed away... RIP Eddie ...you are the man who destroyed the wall and made a new sound in the late 70s and now you' ll found your friend Randy Rhoads we would never forget that you are master of tapping technic ... good guy....so long...
Love this version!! Eddie was point on! And loved his tone on that tour! And Sammy was perfect!
Exactly!! He sounded awesome on this one. The Balance tour was really good. Was the last best tour with Sammy Hagar
is the band full of homosexuals?
Love the fact there were no phones here. Just a bunch of crazy VH fans like me enjoying the concert.
TeraDacTacktiCELL🎉
For two guys that were seemingly fueding, boiling with rage and disgust, and couldn't be in the same space as one another... they seem to be loving each other's vibes, smiling and having the time of their lives.
Obviously it was all an act.
Ed tends to rewrite history and say that “times were miserable” even though he was clearly having a ball. He did the same thing in 1986 describing the previous 12 years with Dave, even though there’s a giant smile on his face during every live show. Ed’s not that good of an actor
@@Iknowthelaw13 no they treated eddie terribly. they would just be like “yeah go drink and play ur guitar” and he spent so much time in isolation with his strings. thats why he enjoyed the concerts so much.
the entire reason i watch this is for Michael Anthony at 1:03. his energy is infectious.
r m lol some people are just salty for no reason 😂 move along
@r m broke both his ankles and caused a terrible earthquake in Armenia. WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN 1995 RM?
Love Van Hagar or despise them, you cannot deny, these guys were TIGHT AS FUCK in this period. Best live performances around.
Not in '95. They hated each other here, Van Hagar was most tight from 86-92
@@yankeesbroncos55 I’d say they were tight but more experimental with their jamming. Here, they were mostly damaged bodily and moved around little, allowing them to play more accurately.
@@yankeesbroncos55 he is talking about there live performance not personally
Absolutely The Best Band Ever
@@russellcarter1872 True
How they fired Michael is beyond me. The guy was the balls.
There was an article i read that back in 2019 Eddie was super excited to do a Reunion with Michael but Do to Eds health it was scrapped so it seemed like Ed made Peace with Michael
@@mikejacobs2836 I have seen countless interviews with Michael and he never said a bad word about what took place. The man is a class act. I wish him the best.
@@FRATZROCKET he also wished wolf the best in some interview, what a great man.
@@attafahqi I saw him say that a couple of times now. Just a good guy who got a raw deal. Plus the guy is a monster on bass and vocals.
@Mephisto Emperor what does that have to do with this video?
First concert in my life at age 15: Monsters of Rock Stockholm 1984: Mötley Crue, Van Halen, AC/DC. Hard to beat.
Jan Karlsson right here right now live ez claps
Damn, I was only born 9 years after that show. What would I give to see that lineup at that time!
One hell of a lineup.
Eddie Van Halen Always Loved, Never Forgotten, Forever Miissed.
Always loved how that ripping solo led into the mellow bridge on this tune. Miss you Eddie.
''The story of life is quicker then the blink of an eye, the story of love is hello, goodbye..until we meet again” Jimi Hendrix
The sound in this clip is amazing!
Eddie will live in the hearts of all who Loved him . The band will live through the brilliance they left behind.. Long Live Van Halen! ❤️🎶🤘"G"
It is an ironty that I feel sad seeing Eddie's happy face, 'cause it makes me miss him more and more...The greatest guitarist exisited ever. RIP, Edward Van Halen.
The man absolutely loved what he did!!!
Rock in rock in roll Heaven Eddie.😘 Bravo.🕊⚘ Music lives forever.
Without Michael Antony and Eddie, there's no van halen any more.
I was there Amazing Concert!!
edd man was the best at his craft...what a very rare talent for creating monster riffs and playing style.
Michael Anthony is a fucking beauty.
RIP EVH💐
Dear handsome for guys
Even before DLR left the band, Michael Anthony was my favorite member and he always will be. I just loved his stage presence and party persona. I doubt that was Jack in the bottle in his shows though.
I often wondered if it was iced tea.....lol either way he put on one hell of a stage show.
Come on, this is the real deal, it definitely was JD in that bottle
I was at this concert van halen kicked ass all the way
me too. I'm 50 now... How old r u?
@imperiald3864 I'm 56 lol
This sounds probably the best I’ve seen them live great tone not even just from Eddie but everyone sounds fantastic
Un genio en la guitarra. EPD Eddie.....
Wow, one of the best live shows. RIP
Thank you, Eddie
So much energy..
Eddie Van Halen is the greatest of all time. RIP
Eddie is in heaven now with Randy Rhodes and Jimi Hendrix 3 awesome guitar 🎸 players will be missed.
Eddie and Randy, never really cared much for Jimi’s playing although I respect him as a player, I never really got his style
Same bro
You realize they get Neil Peart on percussion! Man, my 80's mixtape is almost gone now.
Gary Moore, Eddie and Randy, Philip Lynott on bass, Freddie on vocals and John Bonham on drums, that's a line up.
@@iurinascimento418 Mark is not dead man
I was there, still sounds great in 2024 🫶❤️🤟🏼🇨🇦

Goodbye Eddie "The GOAT" Van Halen. RiP🎸🌷🙏🏼
Sounds so cool...would not have been the same hearing Sammy, Eddie and Michael shouting "Switzerland!"
I agree with you, mate... greetings from Panama
Amazing energy, the best, RIP Eddie 🙏
2:18 This is the little stuff that made EVH the best player ever.
Man I miss Eddie. RIP
I love how Sammy wouldn't touch Dave's version. For all the tension that caused, he still respected Dave's legacy. And Eddie and Alex are in top form here!
Thats not true, people easily forget when sammy trashed dave
Javier Munoz yeah they both fukn hated each other lmao
Sammy treated Dave like shit.
Van Halen, por Siempre.🙌🏻🤯☀️
3:03 where is my whammy bar ??
Miss you king 😔❤️
love the sound on Eddie's guitar in this
I was there....Sammy rocked....Alex rocked this song !
Billy R I know right?! I really liked how Alex's drums sounded in this tour and how he played was really awesome!
My favorite Band, my favorite guitar player, RIP EVH!
What I admire about Sammy and Eddie that they might have beef during this but when they were on stage performing they didn’t bring it to stage they handled it backstage away from the fans
Brilliant 🧡💛💚💙💜❤🖤!
1:04 - we rehearsed this.
1:22 - we did not rehearse this.
Eddie never forgotten, God of the Guitar 🎸
LOVE THIS SONG!
With Sammy or Dave, Eddy was the best, the greatest of all! We'll miss you. RIP
God bless you guys. I truly hope heaven exists because i owe you all a hug for the love...
I wish I was at this tour!!
Define Rock n Roll.....Van Halen.....End of Message.....
VH with Sammy were so freaking tight live.
eddie just looks like hes having so much fun
Simplesmente genial.
@ 3:04 Ed's whammy bar gets stuck. It didn't phase him at all!
The chorus on that guitar 10/10
EVH ..lives on with his epic playing
R.I.P. GODBLESS YOU ALWAYS
I was at this show!!
back when people looked like they were having fun rather than being so damn angry
Eddie's guitar tone!! Amazing!!!! Sounded so good!!!! I like how he had his guitar hocked up to two amps and in one of the amps had that distorted guitar sound with the gain turned up and in the other one, he had a clean smooth guitar sound and it mixed so well!!!! I may try to get al this stuff for my birthday so I can do the same thing!!!
Sammy was simply amazing then and amazing now.
Get it EDDIE VAN HALEN!! THROW DOWN ON THEM
Budweiser stage.. seen many concerts there..
surprised they didn't do skydome.
Probably busy with Jays
1991 was the only time they did Skydome
We miss you David!!! 😢😢😢
Amazing guitar Eddie!
Alex............yeah!!!!!
It is a more tame without Dave, but I appreciate that Sammy put his own spin on it.
Joe Gac The problem with DLR was there was a very small window of time that he performed well on stage. Sammy Hagar could walk on stage right now and play almost as well as he did here. My biased opinion. I was 14 when Sammy took over the band and I was already a huge fan of SH.
@@jugglingembalmer Totally disagree. From 72-85 with VH, three solo tours from 85-88, then reunion tours in 07 and 11-12. The man has stamina and was a hell of a showman. I saw a LOT of those early shows in the early 80s. Sammy is good, but VH wise, he'll NEVER be as good as DLR.
R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen October 6, 2020
I saw them in 2004 on their reunion tour in d.c. it wasn't very good but Van Halen is still one of my favorite bands.
Alex awesome drummer!
Tupac & Van Halen was awesome in the 1990's
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
very tight guitar
Eddie went from dad to granddad in less that 10 years. dont do drugs kids
It was too much alcohol and smokes more than anything else. Band stayed in Cabo Wabo mode from 1988 until the VH brothers finally kicked Sammy out and both of them paid the piper. Sammy and M. Anthony seemed to be the only ones who weren't worse for wear(relatively), after the Sammy-era. Still though, they had their most disciplined sound with him and if Dave had stayed in the band, they might have done even worse, partying and health-wise.
Wolfie has kids?
This is Eddie whenever you can be like ED !
But he looks great
10 years?! This was 25 years ago.
I miss Eddie😖
Im from Panama republic of Panama ..its an anthem
Ed's tone is killer here

Michael Anthony will always be the bass guitarist for Van Halen. I don’t care who Eddie has kids with !!
Only Michael Anthony can pull off a mullet and still be cool in 1995
Yeah, that's the first thing I noticed :D
