Blimey I was blinded by the funk on that opening jam! I had to walk off in time with the music and come back with a pair of Bootsy Collins's sunglasses to even look at the screen!
It is so cool to see the captain getting more and more one with his licks, I like the smooth approach and tone. Just kind of frustrating to see Pete play a seriously awesome bassline with one finger, being a bassist myself, what a talent. Chapeau.
So happy every time I see a new video from y’all during quarantine. Andertons guitar is 1 of 5 channels I watch all day when I’m not playing guitar myself.
Imagine a whole band buying one of these Telecasters, one of these Stratocasters and one of these basses, all wearing black trousers and silver jackets. I loooooove the finish.
Danish Pete plays killer bass!!! Love you guys!!!! I own that Pbass and love it!!!! Those of you watching and thinking of getting one get it while they are available!!!
Let us not forget that Leo would go see artists, big and small, and hand them the guitar he was working on for their feedback. Pretty smart engineer with good understanding of the customer feedback loop. And he was focused on the simplification of manufacture and the price as well. Yeah, quite the chap.
Pete loves those basses. It's written all over his face every moment he's playing them. Now I get to listen to this demo for the next 4 months while I wait for mine to arrive!
That's because way back then there were lots of Jazz musicians and Jazz clubs in my home state of California. And Leo was one smart cookie, Bolt On Necks with Proper neck angles, Bridge/Tailpiece combos that stay in tune, Amps, and early targeting of his market. Don't get me wrong, I love my Les Paul, but I hate that I had to change the tuners, the nut, and the bridge just to get it to stay in tune for a while. Not to mention that if I even barely bump it's headstock I almost Piss myself!
I got the Tele from this series about a week ago; love it. Pete hit the colour on the head: champagne is the word that came to mind when I first saw it in person. Great finish.
Capt your viewers don't mind long videos even if it's for vanilla we come here for you and Pete and we love all things music gear, I watched I guy (Puisheen) work on a Jazzmaster for 45 minutes because he's great and he mostly does Jazzmasters every video and I watch them all, point is no need to rush we love you we love watching you
My wife gifted me the 75th Tele today for my 50th birthday...100% agree that they should ship the tele with 10’s! Beaut looking instrument and look forward to plugging it in asap!
@@gohjohan how would an inlay or etching on a pickguard ruin the sound 😂 even neck inlays wouldn't mess with the sound. But however I'm glad they didn't, it's perfect just the way it is.

A couple of months ago I wrote a frivolous comment about the frequency of Fender guitar releases. I have had to update it almost weekly. First electric guitar was the frying pan design for the National Guitar Company in 1910. It was designed by Alan Beauchamp. Beauchap then went into partnership with Adolf Rickenbacker
I played one of these that had a tone knob installed in the factory instead of a volume knob. Did exactly the same thing, but it simply happened to be ‘extra toney’.
I bought the Telecaster, it really looks sharp! About to change the tuners to locking and replace pickups with Ultra Vintage Noiseless - they are really noisy imho.
Hey Alex, thinking of getting the tele. There are still a couple around. Problem is I can't try before as its an online sale. In your opinion, would the stock pick ups handle a series mode mod? I like noisy pick ups but not muddy and thinking if modding with a 4 way switch and texas special pick ups. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated 👍
Enjoyable as always! Fender can continue to make Strats and Teles until the end of time and there will always be players who want a new one. And there will always be used Strats/Teles out there. Wasn't that long ago that you could pick up a MIM Strat for $300 easy. These days, $450 is reasonable for a used MIM. For those who want a Fender Strat or Tele, every year you wait, the prices will go up. Or you can build your own partscaster over time. That's what I did.
I'm a firm believer in American made guitars and I've swore by them my whole life BUT my GOD Fenders Mexican facility is producing some extremely unbelievable guitars and amps as well. I've bought two EVH guitars and two Charvels that are made in Mexico and damn, if you had blind folded me and said they were made in America I would have believed you. I mean they're not in my Gibson custom Les Paul territory but they're not far behind.
Mexico is part of America, just not the US, but all the parts they get half comes from the actual US Fender company, the other half are Mexican. that's why the price sits in between Squier and US Fender.
MIMs do become a great option in the Fender range, which is good imho. Fender does have a tendency to put out silver Strats as anniversary ones. I do remember a silver anniversary Strat occurring in the 80s coming in a special case priced at ~ 1600 Deutschmarks (which was a lot of money these times). Nice guitars and basses! Thanks a lot for sharing.

Regarding changing the strings; Pete was absolutely right. The last thing you want to do after getting a brand new guitar, is change the damn strings. Whether you can or not is irrelevant. You just want to play it!!

But bassists can always find gigs, so there's that.
James Jamerson used one finger, so...
I just realized 20 years from now I'll still be watching these two guys, then senior citizens, talking about guitars and interrupting eachother.

Seriously Lee has got really good on guitar he is thinking less about where he needs to go and it all sounds natural well done Lee very impressed
Indeed. That’s exactly right
4:15 ...theres no tremolo on that bass :) amazing video as always, keeping lockdown entertaining

Gosh, they're gorgeous!
And the guitars ain't bad either.

Lee and Pete have become my favourite jamming duo - such a great chemistry. And I didn’t know Pete was such a badass bass player, too!
Wide smile every time Lee plays “the lick” 😁

Leo Fender’s Model T Fender approach changed the world of guitars!

You know what, I’m not a Fender type of guy but that telecaster does it for me. Guess I’m saving up my money now.
I got the Tele from this series about a week ago; love it. Pete hit the colour on the head: champagne is the word that came to mind when I first saw it in person. Great finish.
I got mine yesterday, and you're right. It's somewhere in between champagne and silver, depending on the light.
Diamond silver is the name but there are others
That opening was incredible. You 2 need to release a full album of improv jams.
I think what Pete's saying is when you've graduated to a Tele you can brand dragons on your forearms & leave the monastery.
Capt your viewers don't mind long videos even if it's for vanilla we come here for you and Pete and we love all things music gear, I watched I guy (Puisheen) work on a Jazzmaster for 45 minutes because he's great and he mostly does Jazzmasters every video and I watch them all, point is no need to rush we love you we love watching you
Interesting finished on those guitars. They change colour depending on the angle of the light.

I love starting my day hanging out with Anderton's. these jams are so good and damn if Pete can't just play everything, huh? lol
rock on, y'all. 🤘🏻
what an intro , one of the best
This was very informative. -”It’s a Strat and it sounds like Strat”, ”It has...it’s a Tele.”.
Well it’s the same old stuff in a different color.
when live music is a thing again I would pay to see a show of Pete just making loops all night
i just purchased that strat today !! its a great guitar !!
Fender missed an opportunity with diamond-shaped inlays....
Or maybe even a diamond etched into the pick guard.... that's right I said pick guard!
@@unclejj509 , what if all those ideas ruined the sound? Would you still buy it?
12th fret is so simple and easy, and its another way the Japanese line destroys in terms of options.
