Great vlog. We were some of the lucky ones and got back before it got too bad, but still took about 10-15 mins to dock with the ship when we got back, we saw the lifeboats bobbing around later and felt so sorry for them. Just realised you have popped another couple up so off to watch them later, great bringing back memories of a lovely cruise.
Hi guys, great vlogs! You have become our goto vlogers on RUclips cruising as we will be sailing on Ambition next January and as you know good information is priceless. We are novices but we have sailed on Ambiance and have another two sailings on this ship this year. It’s surprising what a bit of research can do for you!!! Keep up the great work.
Thanks for your kind comments. It means a lot to us novice 'RUclipsrs'. Please feel free to ask in the comments if you have any questions on Ambition. We are always happy to help if we can. Thanks for watching! 😁👍
Guernsey is a fabulous place and even though you had bad weather you seemed to have a great day .. Those crepes looked delicious!! Looking forward to the next instalment..
We always try make the most of the destinations, whatever the weather! The crepes were very nice. On to the exotic destination of Plymouth next week! 😁 Thanks for watching.
We all make mistakes ( bus tickets). Mine was taking cold weather clothes to Jersey in March! Has to visit M & S to buy summer clothes. Another very enjoyable watch.
Overall, it seems like you enjoyed your cruise. Would you try the other ambassador ship which seems slightly bigger, or would you go with another cruise line next time? Thanks for the great review. Only one thing left for me to do; book a cruise.
We definitely want to try Ambience as well. We have a full review video coming out soon. Thank you for watching and commenting. It is much appreciated. Let us know what you book and give us a heads up if you snag a bargain!
A sterling effort in what was clearly (or not so clearly !) rotten weather. I always thought you were regular tea drinkers when I see you out in the garden. Obviously, a large cup of Breton cider instead. Probably accounts for why the lines on your lawn are zig-zag ! Nice to hear Lisa doing her audition for “Allo, Allo !” this week 😂
Thank you ...yes you know my secret now when you see me mowing the lawn but I'm taking a rest until half cut June as you've probably noticed with my collection of daisies 🤣
In my experience the chances of landing is only 50% Quite often the sea is too rough for running tender operations. I was stuck on a tender for one hour on one occasion due to sea conditions becoming too rough after we had landed. The ship repositioned but during this time one woman on our tender experienced heart problems and another tender ran out of fuel. Guernsey experiences amongst the roughest sea conditions for a tender port. If you are prone to sea sickness the tender is a key part on the cruise to avoid. especially if you get into a stuffy diesel fumed area of the craft. Standard monty on tender disembarkation; cruise line excursion people first then high tier loyalty people and finally all others. Stay for a late breakfast and disembark when the crowds have gone.
We spoke to one man who had been to Guernsey 13 times previously on cruises and had never been able to tender into port until this time, when it was still touch and go. I think that gives an indication of the sea conditions in this area that you mentioned. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 👍
you were standing outside Monsoon too ! my friend works there in Guernsey i was born there but live in Vancouver canada now if you do an Alaska cruise ill come say hi !
Wow! It never ceases. To amaze us where people watch us from. We would love to do an Alaska cruise. We have only been to Toronto. Thanks so much for watching and commenting it is much appreciated ❤️
You didn't know you could pay with a debit card. I probably would have gotten the shore trip via the cruise line. Would love to go to Guernsey. Have some stamps from their. I collect stamps. Good that you made it back to the ship. Hope you had some tea. Don't like sushi. Spinach Pie is usually very good. It's a Greek dish. My wife would love Lemon Meriange Pie. Mostly drink wine and usually with a meal.
Thanks for watching. Yes I also love lemon meringue pie. In fact, I love all sorts of cakes and pudding. Guernsey is a lovely island. I hope you get chance to visit there.
I can't imagine being stuck on those tenders for two hours during choppy seas. Those poor passengers 😲 good you still made the most out of a very wet Guernsey though!
Thank you for watching. We always try and have a good time whatever the conditions. I always say there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. And I have lots of bad clothing! 🤣
We tend to eat relatively early, so the light from outside was bright, as well as the internal lighting in the main dining room. In the bar, we sat where it was brightest for the camera. We didn't find the ship to be overly bright, though. Thanks for watching 👍
Guernsey my Island home.. Sarnia cherie, sweet gem of the sea home of my childhood ,my heart yearns for thee, thy voice calls me ever, forget thee I'll never sweet Island of beauty, Sarnia cherie.
Sarnia; dear Homeland, Gem of the sea. Island of beauty, my heart longs for thee. Thy voice calls me ever, in waking, or sleep, Till my soul cries with anguish, my eyes ache to weep. In fancy I see thee, again as of yore, Thy verdure clad hills and thy wave beaten shore. Thy rock sheltered bays, ah; of all thou art best, I'm returning to greet thee, dear island of rest. Guernsey was certainly wave beaten on the day we visited. Thanks for watching 👍
'Schoolboy Error' Lisa. Not all stones were unturned. If you paid £1.50 would you have wanted to hop off any places and then pay £1.50 again to continue? Giles, the soup joke, you need to get tips off Disco Dave, all about the delivery. Good to see a card game of 'Shithead' going on but NO DRINKS. I wouldn't accept that and would play in one of the other bars. They could have little round tables for you to place your drinks on.
Our journeys are full of schoolboy errors. We like to pass our stupidity on as a salutary warning to fellow travellers. If Disco Dave has any tips for me, please write them on the back of an envelope and pass them along. All advice is greatly appreciated!👏 Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks so much 🙏 really appreciate that. My dress was originally from Monsoon but I got it from the Cancer Research Shop. I always try to get my dresses from charity shops if I can. 😃
Not sure why people say Guernsey is a nice place to visit … been there several times and seriously not impressed with it, it is the height of mediocrity as a place to visit.
Maybe its mediocrity is a big attraction! 😂 If we do ever go back in better weather and are disappointed, I shall remember your warning. Thanks for watching
Nice one, many thanks.
@michaelthompson6885 thanks for watching

Another great video. Guernsey is a nice place to visit. You have made me want to try a Staffordshire oatcake now!
Cheers! Thanks for watching 👍 You can't beat an oatcake with a bit of cheese on.

We’re still glad that we didn’t get off, it was bad enough watching the tenders from the ship! 🚢
😄 yes I bet you had a more comfortable day onboard!!

Oh... a brexit benefit... not being able to data roam.... good vid. Shame the weather was crap.
@@wellardsmith3629 Thanks 😊 it was tough to keep the camera dry! 😁👍
Nothing to do with brexit as Guernsey is part of the UK. More to do with profiteering mobile phone service providers.

you really could not see much on that bus and the tender boat situation sounds a bit tricky
but a very good video
It wasn't too bad looking through the front windscreen of the bus. Thanks for watching and commenting it is much appreciated 😁👍

@user-fl5eu3mk3n Thanks for watching. Hopefully, the sun will be out when we return! 🌞
Same in Jersey re data roaming
@@jolewis-brown6608 Thank you for that. We will bear that in mind. Thanks for watching 👍
If they were go to Jersey, far more to see, even on the bus.
Jersey is somewhere we would love to visit. I wouldn't want to do it on a cruise, though. Thanks for watching 👍
Not many cruises go to Jersey and those that do go ashore by tender.
