I am a 100% disabled Veteran trying to learn my new xTool F1 Ultra, and Thunder Laser BOLT to try and earn a side income of $1,109 a month. I wish I could strive for more but I am told if I go over $1,110 I lose my Social Security. I am grateful for RUclipsrs like you to help me learn. Hopefully I can get an online presence before Christmas.

I am also a retired 100% Disabled Veteran. I purchased a laser engraver, Creality Falcon 2, a few months ago and am glad I did. I purchase materials from Amazon for an average cost and have no complaints. Keep going forward and pat yourself on the back.
Your amount of extra income you can earn on Social Security is only limited for five years. After that, the sky is the limit without consequence. I know., I just weat thru that and the waiting time is finally over. Watch out world!!! I've got my new CNC and Lasers! Turn me loose💥
@@user-ek7ir6xe8v I have been 100% permanent and total disabled by the Veterans Administration since about 2009, And the Social Security office in town still tell me every time I tell them I do food deliveries or sold a sublimated pet memorial or a mug that I am limited on how much income I can earn a month until I reach full retirement age and I am only 60 this year, but if I don’t earn the extra $1,100 a month my bills do’t get covered thanks to the debt I made buying the lasers and stuff.. The amount goes up a little every year and thankfully it is after expenses and tax breaks. If not for my mileage deduction from food deliveries I would be in trouble. It is yet another reason I keep putting off starting the laser engraving business for fear of earning too much without enough deductions, food deliveries mileage deducts guarantee I can never go over what the Social Security allows, I do not think I can find enough deductions making pet memorials and crafters to not go over the $1,109 I was told I was allowed this year.
I had no idea of this type of material! I definitely need to get some and start the holiday laser projects! Thank you so much Brett!

Nope, I still have it and use it all the time. Check out my latest shop tour. It’s in a corner which doesn’t make for a nice camera shot.

Hey Brett, nice video. I'm just getting started with Lasers. I've got a 20w Longer Ray5 diode and I recently purchased the xTool F1 with the slide mechanism.I've spent more time learning LightBurn and now xCS (xTool's software) than looking for #material for engraving. I really appreciated this particular video as I had never heard of an MDF core that came in 1/8". Thanks!

#material. Very cool…I have just started with a Creality Falcon2 Pro, and already thinking of a CO2 laser when the time is right. Love the MDF your advertising. It's worth a shot, it's not perfect but it looks good and is economical. Try it

You're welcome, I wish I could stock other sizes but we're a small operation. Shipping just gets to be pretty expensive for 24" long items. Maybe in the future

#material. I like that it lays flat. Most thin materials now like crazy!
entered thank you for watching! It's definitely flatter than regular 1/8" ply but it is still a very thin material and can have some bow in it don't get me wrong. The thing I like about it though is that it will flatten out pretty well just by putting some weight on top of it when I store it.

This is it Kate. Looks great like solid walnut/maple/white oak, great value because it’s MDF core, and easy to cut on even a 20w diode. I love this stuff and we use it everyday.

What laser did you start out with? What was your first #material you engraved?
I started with an original Xtool D1 10w diode laser.

No, the D1 got us interested in lasers. We started out business with a 80w Monport CO2 and have grown since then. Check out my videos I talk all about that.
