Well done Tom, a lovely interview with a hugely talented individual. Karine is a powerful singer songwriter and allowing her space to articulate her graceful arc through her career was insightful. It's always inspiring to hear the back story of peoples lives and Karine's ability to knit her personal life into her songs and performances is truly touching. "Molly Simes welcome to Salter's Road" on "A Pocket of Wind Resistance" relating her neighbour's life is beautiful and haunting. Her son calling "Molly, Molly!" and running the full length of the hospital ward will stay with me for a long time. Rarely is someone's life so beautifully captured. Karine is at the top of her game. I wish her well.
Thanks a lot for the interview. I saw Karine in concert in Perth and was very touched by her music. What a wonderful person too. I’m living way away in the mountains of Utah, USA. But for somehow I discovered Karine and Dougie and I’ll tell you I’ve been so grateful for the comfort, and support this music brings to my life.
Darwin Song Project. Shrewsbury 2009. We're All Leaving. When my little sister passed away suddenly, this song helped me grieve. Traces is wonderful. I do enjoy Karine Polwarts special projects, too. Lost Words: Spell Songs Album is lovely.
Ethereal beauty in Karines' voice and music. Crystal clear diction and perfect timing and pitch.
