Call me crazy but I think this dog is absolutely beautiful.
Nothing crazy about that.
all doggos are beautiful 💞
I think so too. They have that sleek, statuesque look I love in dogs. Almost reminds me of the weimaraner, my favorite breed.
I agree!
Crazy :3
They’re not scary at all I think they’re beautiful, I definitely would love one
Brightpath same.. they look adorable and absolutely gorgeous
Right? Like a dark angel 👼 😇
That dog understood their conversation in the point when she is talking about him being affective or not to strangers. The dog reacted and showed her affection.
That flash of gold when he opens his eyes at the end 😍
No haircut expenses and no shedding on clothes and furniture?! Looks beautiful to me!
Christina Grissom no, but instead, your money’s going to go down the drain to sunscreen and (in cold 🥶 places) many coats and sweaters.
They require more grooming than most dogs, actually. It's a bunch of skincare, constantly.
I have a Xoloitzcuintli (The dog in this video) and they require lotion, sunscreen (Usually only for the light colored ones), clothes, acne care, deep body wash (they get oil) and lots more. But yes, they are beautiful! But they require lots of work. 💕

this dog is both scary and beautiful in a lovely way. It reminds me of the way that poets talk about death. Definitely fitting of a name like Anubis or Cerberus, even though those names feel basic, I can't think of anything better! Cerberus was the guard dog of the underworld, but was so gentle, all it took to bribe him was a honeycomb and a few pets :)
Cerebrus literally translates to "Spot" in ancient Greek.
Why would anyone think this dog looks scary. It's absolutely beautiful.
lets be real its because its black and then linked with the "underworld"
@@Daydreamroses Anubis is a God of the dead, not the underworld.
I'd say they look a little intimidating but not scary like you look at one from a certain way and your brain kinda reacts in a woah what is that kind of way but after it's had time to process it immediately switches to a ohmygosh it's adorable line of thinking
he looks like anubis..so beautiful
I was just gonna type that
I was thinking that
I was thinking he looks like Set’s animal
Xólotl was the Aztec God of spirits, which helped the dead on their trip to Mictlán (The underworld of the mexica mythology) itzcuintli = Dog "Dog of Xólotl" Thats what it name means.
I was JUST about to say that 😂😂
It’s strange how tight his skin is. He isn’t like hairless cats who have such saggy, wrinkly skin
Mo 2k I heard cats are like that cause it helps them with how flexible they are and a few other reasons
I LOVE THEM
A sphinx?
They're bred that way like pugs and Bulldogs
One reason could be because dogs are comprised of more muscle
As someone who lives in a hot country and is absolutely used to take care of myself due to the scorching sun here, having a spa session with my dog and massaging oil into their skin is something I would be delighted to do. I'm already so used to it, and it certainly helps a lot.
Sleek and smooth, and clean, like a beautiful statue.

Dark Howler animals that do not have hair like hairless cats or cats that are meant to have Marcel's which are the little rippled hair like a Rex cat but come out bald have extremely high sebaceous glands so wherever they lay they leave a dark brown ring of greasy sebaceous wax. They get covered with blackheads because of it some more than others it depends on the family and the quality of breeding. Also what diet they're on but every Rex cat or Sphynx cat I've ever known had blackheads on its tail and the bald always leave a great big greasy spot on your sheets or pillow or blanket or couch or wherever they're sleeping so it's not all fun and games they promise.
@@gomezaddams6470 it helps to wash them and apply a non-toxic breathable oil/moisurizer to their skin.
Hairless breeds require high maintenance. They suffer from alot of skin issues from dryness to chaffing and even skin conditions and can end up with cancers. You have to be careful with everything in ur home from carpeting (the starches and dyes can cause severe allergic or some reaction to there skin) even what u put on ur skin as they tend to rub against there human counterparts and depending on the climate your in also depends on if they would require actual clothing or wrapped to hold in body heat or to protect. They can even scratch themselves causing infections and so forth.. they need to be in a pretty sterile environment. They can in fact get fleas since fleas nest and rest on the body and skin of animals and without hair will burrow under the skin if need be..this why a home without animals can have fleas they can live on humans and your furniture.
He could get ticks tho
@@RebaMiran, yeah, but think of how easy it would be to find the ticks. My friend has two border collies and with the hair they have, there could be ticks buried anywhere and you wouldn't find them. In not a fan of that squeaky bark though, annoying noises are always a deciding factor.
For me the Xolo and the Bull Terrier are the most beautiful looking dogs. All dogs are beautiful 😍, but something about their looks is weirdly gorgeous to me.
All dogs are beautiful. People can have their breed preferences but it doesn’t take away from the nature of dogs in general. They are always a blessing we strive to deserve. ❤

Absolutely stunning dog. He hold himself with pride and dignity. Ancient and breathtaking.
Couldn't have said it better myself!😀
Nice 🐕
They’re absolutely precious. My aunt has one. She got him after losing both of her Dobermans. They’re very energetic and chaotic. Somewhat hard to train so you have to start young. Their skin needs to be properly moisturized because there’s barely any fur to protect it. They do have an adorable mohawk! They’re lovable and cuddly once you get over the feeling of their skin lol. I think they’re absolutely adorable and unique. High maintenance but worth the work.
Skórę nie trzeba niczym smarować wystarczy jak czasem nawilżysz go chusteczkami dla niemowląt , po takim nawilżeniu jest jak nowy . Znikają zadrapania , które ma podczas zabaw z innymi psami.
In Egyptian mythology Anubis was known to guide the dead in the afterlife. While In Aztec mythology this dog was said to do the same. They both resemble each other. Strange coincidence coming from two cultures that were on different sides of the world.
They’ve also worshiped the sun and the moon.
@@dinob8736 as if almost every single culture didnt worship the sun and moon
But Anubis was a Jackal, the Xoloitzcuintle is a dog. Anyway, México and Egypt culture are so rich, it's pretty understandable they are so similar.
@@iancuspinera1160 True, but they both still belong to the canine family. Though I just based it off their appearance.

Imagine having a Sphinx Cat and a Xolo Dog my clothes would appreciate that
I would appreciate you commenting again.
Actually because they have no fur they sweat a lot more. So they leave sweat marks on clothing/ bedding. I have three Sphynx cats and can not have anything white like bedding or jeans as they would stain them. It leaves like a orange mark but this is also why you have to wipe them down to get rid of any access oils. Still beautiful pets but very high upkeep haha. I would love one of these dogs too!
Jaymii-Lee KILG0 - hahah yeah, there’s never a shortcut to simple pet care 😅
as someone with a dog and a cat i can relate
That would be a perfect combination. 👌
I brought a Xolo mix street dog back from Mexico. Never seen a more loving, cuddly, devoted companion in my 50 years of life. There is something mystical and spiritually protecting/healing about her - like she's a spirit animal/guide in the flesh. I realize this sounds crazy but to spend time around her is to understand. I'm blessed to have her.
It doesn't sound crazy at all. I think when we humans, cause ourselves to truly still, and truly pay attention to our animal companions - there is something very healing about them. They unconditionally love us. A true blessing for us who choose to be caretakers of them
I totally understand there is something extra when connecting to Xolas’.
Just a dog lol😂
Exactly 🐾🖤👍!) only sing what "crazy" & really weird - it's that ppl who abuse animals & who badly jealous & "judgemental to people who love and protect animals..
I feel this a lot. I met a Xolo over 10 years ago in Cuba. I was sadly too young to understand being able to take her home with me, or even how to do that, but she attached to me almost immediately. I even named her and would come to the name I called her. I was only there for 2 weeks but she was the most beautiful, sweet, and amazing dog ever. She even slept with me in my hotel room a couple of nights. She was an amazing companion and I miss her. Definitely makes me want to have one when I'm able. They have a very different energy than other dogs. I hope your baby is with you for many years yet. 💜
Stunningly beautiful! Frieda Kahlo had several xolos. They occur in her paintings too. Beautiful dogs, and of the most ancient dog category (together with breeds like circeno del Etna, Pharao dogs etc). Their cousins the Peruvian Hairless is very similar and they're both so old it's impossible to tell which came first, they're likely only recently (relatively speaking) separate, the same stock.
They’re both gorgeous! I had no idea they could be Milo’s size. Sapphira’s blonde scalp is awesome.
Looks like a giant wingless fruitbat. And fruit bats are so cute.
Ralph Hicks exactly what I thought
Oh no why did you have to say that, totally destroyed the sleek black kickassedness of Milo the Xolo.

Xoloitzcuintles were a sacred breed for the Aztecs. They were believed to guard human souls through their passage to the Mictlán, the land of dead people.
It is an ancient and beautiful breed.
this dog is more than 7 thousand years old. In Mexica mythology, it was believed that the Xoloitzcuintles accompanied the souls of the deceased when they traveled to Mictlán, the underworld, for which they were sacrificed and buried. along with the dead they were to guide. There are legends that speak that Xolotl gave the xoloitzcuintle as a gift to man, after having manufactured it from a splinter of the Bone of Life, the bone from which all life was created. Because of this, the Mexica considered it sacred, and this adoration was manifested in many sculptural and pictographic representations. It is said that the gods had to descend to Mictlán and obtain a bone that would make the formation of humanity possible. Xólotl volunteered to perform such a feat, although that will involve transforming himself into a dog; the Xoloitzcuintle. Xólotl was represented as a man with the head of a dog, representing the nocturnal face of Venus accompanying the sun on its way to the underworld. After sunset, the star king died and fought with his help to be reborn at dawn. Since then this animal became the favorite of the gods. When the objective was accomplished, he appeared before the dreadful Mictlantecuhtli, the lord of Death, and presented him with the prized bone. Then, the Xoloitzcuintle returned to the world of the living and the gods were able to create the first man and the first woman. The Mexica tradition pointed out that it should be completely black, because if it had spots on its body this said that it had already served to the soul of another deceased. In addition, for the Mexica people, the Xoloitzcuintle had the ability to ward off and protect homes from evil spirits, but since everything was duality for them, it also represented an evil side since it was identified with disease and physical deformities.

_Xolotl_ is a Native American deity that embodies attributes such as misfortune, lightning, fire, Venus, death, twins, etc. Xolotl was responsible for accompanying the dead to _Mictlán_ (Underworld), their final journey after death; Xolotl also guarded the sun as it made its way through the underworld every night...
