Wow . Take my money now, I will deff buy both carts loved Thalamus games on the c64.
Hawkeye had amazing music , armalyte one of the best shoot em ups and as u say creatures great too
Quite surprised that tomb raider is all 3 on one cart and not split up for a double feature like duke nukem did.
Pleasant surprise for sure
There are 2 more Tomb Raider games on PSone plus the GBC/GBA games.
Giga
I certainly needed some positive Evercade news after the last months!
Thalamus collection would be amazing, I’m so hoping this is right! I haven’t played any of the games but their library looks like the cream of the crop! Finally the C64 may be done justice :)
Giga carts? I don’t mind, hopefully they have licensed some cool PC based indie titles to go with it.
All sounds and looks good🙏Have been trying to contact them to see if there is any chance of a ZX Spectrum collection but never had any reply🙏
Cheers👍
Exciting times ahead. Possibly.
Haha. Definitely.
@@CrazyBurger R = CDR = CD add on 😉
Sounds like the expanded file size would better fit Dreamcast games, which I think should be emulated via Flycast, since Redream is not open source. Plus Flycast emulation would even expand support for higher end arcade games from the early to mid 90s.
Giga cart reminds me of later neo geo carts
Good video. I'm not gonna lie: I'm not super thrilled with these announced games. Bigger carts are cool, but here are tons of other classic computers that need more love on this system: ZX Spectrum, Atari 8-bit, Amstrad, TI-994a etc. I'm tired of the c64 collections. I don't really care about the ps1 platformer stuff either, early 3d is pretty janky these days. I'd MUCH rather have some more Genesis/Snes/Neogeo stuff or larger indie homebrew titles. More shmups for the Exp. Or a roguelike/lite collection. If you're gonna do the ps1 era, maybe some lost saturn shmups or ps1 indie rpgs. I really don't much care about re-playing janky early 3d stuff, *especially* without analog control. Maybe that's just me
Bigger carts are what I've been requesting them to do for over a year, and they were always whining that it "wouldn't be cost-effective"...I told them though, we'd have no problem paying a few extra dollars for them. I don't even LIKE Tomb Raider and I'll probably buy it! 😆
Thanks Crazy.
Second tomb raider collection could have last revelation, chronicles and the 2 GBC games
Heck yes!!
Would love to see the GBA games, but please Blaze, give us a desaturation filter option. Preferably one that also works on Duke Nukem GBA.
The GBC games would be awesome for Evercade!!
Finally, a C64 Collection cart that is really worth the buy. Even with the repeats from the C64 Mini, 11 Thalamus games are better than 30 Hewson and Epyx (especially if half of those are the “Games” series)
Most of these were skipped for the American release of the Mini.
This is a really decent collection
I love the branding of the Giga Cart. Reminds me of back in the Sega Master System days when Outrun was released on a 2 Mega Cartridge! with the quote on the box saying " Twice the Mega Power!" Tomb Raider is a bit meh for me as I'm able to play these on my PC and PS3/PS Vita anyway but a Thalamus Collection will be a must buy. Great news and keep up the awesome work!
I need to take a break from gaming anyways. Great video once again.
I like the idea of these new carts if the Tomb Raider collections are a sign what else is to come. Maybe Doom and Descent could make an appearance. I now have a couple carts but no hardware yet. I may just have to dive in to either an exp or vs and then grab the R version of the other when they are released.
Excited for the Tomb raider collection. Still hoping for a mouse and keyboard to be released as that would open the Evercade for some great games like Dune etc. I like the giga carts addition as well. Aslong as the games meet the price.
If you go on evercade exp-r it is going to have tomb radar with the console I see it on RUclips today that's
👍 Great video. 🙂 I will say, Tomb Raider, is the only tomb raider game released on Sega Saturn. 🙂 Tomb Raider 2 & Tomb Raider 3, did not get released on Sega Dreamcast. The Dreamcast, only had TR: The Last Revelation, (TR 4) TR Chronicles (TR 5) and that is it.
Tomb raider collection 2 could include the last revelation, chronicles and GBC/GBA games. Heh, looks like someone beat me to it.
PSP TR games for a Volume 3?
@@TexasHollowEarth interesting, didn't think of those. I wonder if PSP emulation is viable for Evercade.
Will there be a Special Edition of Tomb Raider cart I wonder, a Brown cart to match Lara's shorts?? 😁
So what you’re saying is Resident Evil on Evercade is now a real possibility
Lol who knows. Capcom.. maybe a bundled game with new exp.
No. Gex and Soul Raver collections are a possibility.
@@OM19_MO79what about the driver series?
Will defiantly be purchasing the Tomb Raider Collection. Although I only own a Super Pocket so not sure if it will run on that. Holding back from getting an EXP or a VS as I was expecting some new hardware soon so I will just wait for the next EXP. I think GTA1 and Final Fantasy 7 would make great future additions on the Evercade.
Maybe GTA 3 and vice City in the future as well
Hopefully the new models have analog sticks
Surely it's a must now. And better battery.. larger screen.. better sound..
Speaking of sound - volume control is terrible on the handheld. I never got it working properly. It feels almost random.
Just me, but there are few games the Evercade can handle that need analog sticks. I’d rather they spend the money elsewhere.
Tomb Raider does not use analog sticks.
@@KeenRetroGames , i know that but do sometimes find it more comfortable to use them.
I just saw the word THALAMUS in your thumbnail Crazy Burger, and instantly thought CREATURES! ABOUT TIME ALREADY! 🙌😤. If these leaks are true, then it’s an INSTANT BUY for me! Though a lot of these game’s suspiciously are STILL coming off that C64 mini?… 🤔
The license with Thalamus ran out with Retrogames.. but seems Blaze have pulled off a blinder. Creatures is on my list of all time fave games. Finally its on Evercade!
SO excited for the Tomb Raider cart!!! Three of my all time favorite games!!
If there is a 2nd Tomb Raider collection, it would likely be the GB/GBC/GBA games and possibly the one released on the PSN/XBLA called Guardian of Light. Im hoping there will be Commodore Amiga carts at some point.
First decent looking C64 collection. Not so sure about Tomb Raider, I thought the 3d game mechanics on the Duke Nukem second cart had aged badly but TR maybe better.
Evercade missed the boat with Tomb Raider - already have them on modern consoles, so this is a huge miss for me; no desire to double-dip.
According to The Evercade roadmap for this year, we get new hardware on july and November.
Gex is next, baby!
I wouldn't mind seeing all the original Kamen Rider games from PlayStation 1 on the evercade
Not aware of those games 🤔
Fantastic. Time for Lara Croft and tank controls. 😅
Just like you, I almost bought Tomb Raider on Switch recently. Glad I held off.
Also glad I held off buying a VS. Looking forward to seeing what the VS-R entails.
Don't know why I held off.. glad I did. Look forward to playing the Evercade versions instead now.
you might have seen the announcement by now, but the VS-R is just a cheaper version of the same console. i can't recommend the VS enough, especially if you have some friends who can play with you. unfortunately for me, a 42-year old, most of my friends either don't like video games or are busy with a wife and kids.
I just saw the announcement. Glad to have hung on. Glad to hear it's worth it. New colour scheme looks great.
I hope the Tomb Raider games are the original versions, in which case I would be looking forward to this cart. I am always up for more C=64 titles of decent quality.
I would love Wip3out 1,2,3 and 3 special edition with Rollcage 1 and 2
Nice choices. I was a huge fan of Rollcage. Thought it was excellent. Obviously Wipeout was fantastic. That's why I bought a playstation!
Love that we're getting Giga carts, but really not excited that the first may be Tomb Raider.. Those games are available everywhere already. Really hope we see some 3D titles soon that haven't already gotten re-re-re-released.
Just think how many Spectrum games could fit on a Giga cart!
Lol.. all of them??
Here's hoping the new EXP will stop killing carts 😅
Couldn't agree more though this is firmware issue rather than hardware. I dont want to be worried to play games anymore. Paranoid I'll lose more carts and saves..
@@CrazyBurger and if the giga ones cost, it's going to suck
Also, Blaze need to announce things before connecting with partners. Stuff always leaks
Yeah.. this will change going forward.
Interesting that the Stavros Thalamus games are all absent. Rights issues?
Evercade confuses me. They can't even lock down the quality of their current carts and now they're going to make larger ones? They have perfectly good home and portable consoles, yet they're doing a refresh and removing features from them? I don't get it.
Hope people have no problem or brick with giga cart 🤔 surprised tomb raider. Wonder what surprises will come this year. Maybe syphon filter trilogy 🤔 maybe final fantasy. If new exp version comes hope it works better and better battery
Interesting year ahead for sure..
Soo is evercade gonna make a new dual stick controller? Also can the evercade handle bigger games without slowdown? Really curious about that.
Meiner Meinung nach hast du also alles richtig gemacht 😉👍
We need gex series, driver series, soul reaver
No Sanxion, Delta or Quedex which is a shame.
Collection 2 maybe..
@@CrazyBurger the only other Thalamus C64 games remaining aside from those three would be Heatseeker (probably the worst Thalamus game), which would leave a potential Collection 2 quite lightweight unless they include the more recently published Runn 'n' Gunn, Millie and Molly, and Grid Prix? Or maybe Sanxion, Delta & Quedex are unlockables with the other C64 carts?
@@tafty I would be expecting Millie & Molly, Runn n gunn, gridpix etc.. maybe collection 2, maybe computer heroes.. all good games. Thalamus snapped them up last year or so. Would be nice to see them. I think we might even see a Psytronik cart.. modern indie c64.
@@CrazyBurger Yeah a cartridge with modern C64 games would be amazing. Sam's Journey seems like a perfect fit for Evercade.
All by the same author. I wonder if there are rights issues or whether that’s just a coincidence? I’m not fussed about the two shooters (although Delta’s music is gorgeous) but losing Quedex is a pity. I’d happily swap out either Camp game for that.
Gigaty gigaty!
I thought cartridge #40 was going to be the Konami Collection cart, and I did have high hopes for what games are in that collection, but for some reason, Blaze gave us a cartridge full of the trilogy of Tomb Raider games originally released on the PlayStation. And as for the Thalamus carts... I'm entirely sure about that because I've heard of that name before.
No, you wanted to believe that.
At this point, everybody should know what to rule out as possible collections. There has been a resurgence on selling collections of retro for major consoles, so it’s almost safe to say that if there’s a retro collection on the Switch, the chances to see them here are slim. For the same reason, the chances of previous releases to become legacy increase.
Namco collections appear on Switch=we get ours trapped in handhelds and later become legacy.
Toaplan and Irem collections are announced for Switch=we don’t get more releases of arcade collections and we know the EXP-R will replace the EXP Irem bundle.
Atari releases Atari 50 and My Arcade impulse buys are announced=all Atari Evercade releases become legacy overnight (which also included the first PIKO releases since they reacquired Accolade).
Arc Systems starts selling Double Dragon collections=two months later, we get the remaining cart turned to legacy, VS bundles are sold out and there’s a VS-R that will replace those bundles.
Codemasters is finally destroyed by EA=The Evercade collection cart finally goes to legacy a few months later.
UPDATE: The R’s are indeed repackaging due to expired licensing. Capcom games will no longer be included, Irem collection will be replaced and it seems DE/G-Mode is changing its business model as some games will be delisted from some digital stores so they won't be able to sell it in the bundle.
It's not a leak when you can get them on preorder.
I always supported blaze... But again new hardware? Sounds like a bit of cash grabbing to me. Too bad that blaze is going this route
They've done this pretty much every other year. Not as bad as Anbernic though..
Still no news on Arcade carts. Get it sorted Evercade!
Strange eh.. I dont think we will see too many those year either
My theory - based on nothing more than wishful thinking - is that we will get more Evercade releases coinciding with remake releases on “normal” consoles. Even at $25 there not enough royalty money for something like three Tomb Raider games. But putting out Evercade releases helps build excitement for the brand. This opens up so many doors….
$7-8 per tomb Raider game is perfectly fine
is it the remakes or the ps1 originals?
Surely it has to be the PS versions. But it would be mind blowing if Evercade could run the remasters!
I got carts 1-30, arcade 1-10 & the blue carts 1&2 what am i missing?
More blue, more red.. check out evercade.co.uk.. or on your device if updated
@@CrazyBurger cheers fella
Massively disappointed with the R consol reveals just now. Feel cheated that I bought an exp to start with
Not quite what I expected.. makes me wonder what the hardware is for November?
@CrazyBurger more super pockets perhaps
@@peterjay5878 no apparently that's separate.. so we'll be getting a few super pockets too..
@CrazyBurger you're joking? Wow, well in that case who knows what they have up their sleeve? I'm just disappointed with this reveal. I've been so pro evercade since day one but beginning to get disillusioned now. Hopefully things will pick up
Your original EXP has the Capcom built in games. The new EXP-R has no built in games and no HDMI out. I think you're doing pretty good with the original.
See, I told you before, rentals, lol. VS-R and EXP-R sounds so familiar. Surely it's not for recordable like CD-R, DVD-R, and BD-R. My only other thought has been RAM like an increase of it to help with these bigger games unless it's for "retro" which to me sounds even more unlikely but who knows. Would be funny if it's R for reconditioned or refurbished.
Lol honestly I don't think it means anything. Open to interpretation like VS and EXP was. Could be Redux?
R for Retro... RF video out, bonus Rubik's Cube style theme with Roobarb & Custard music playing in the background.
Great cart announcements but I don't like the fact they are making another version of the VS and EXP
Agree but think a new EXP is needed, the current one has too many fails.
Lara Croft had a banging gyatt as the kids are saying these days.
Lol no clue what that means
They need:
Sonic mania
Dead cells- with all dlc
Retromania
Very disappointed that there's another EXP and VS on the way. I don't care that it's upgraded, the EXP has only been out for a little over a year, so this is a big no-no for me.
Also Tomb Raider collection on Evercade might be the first cart that I don't buy. I know it has its fans but I hate the TR games, so this is a collection I will likely skip, I will also be skipping the Thalamus collection, as I have no nostalgia for these games.
In honesty I am underwhelmed right now. The longevity of the hardware is short, as Blaze seem to like to replace them after a year or so, but they can't even get their software right before they release it, so I'm feeling less and less inclined to continually support them. I'm edging ever closer to stopping collecting for Evercade I'm afraid.
No reason to play tomb raider when the remasters are out
More expensive though. I've held back. Not everyone has the latest consoles.
@CrazyBurger more expensive yes however they are not simple ports
There's added benefits and fixes in tbe remasters
Personally evercade and switch are best when used for different reasons
Switch best for 6th-7th
Evercade best for 5th generation
Random releases in general for older then that
It just depends on what you’re after… the whole point of Evercade is to play games more along the lines of their classic forms, and it pains me to even admit that the original Tomb Raider is considered retro now… I was originally going to say that I think the problem is that we’re creeping too close to the modern age, but 1996 is pretty far back I suppose!
Anyway, my whole point is that classic games shouldn’t be disregarded because they’re eventually remastered… both versions of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 4 have merit as an obvious example.
@park78675 ture but those are different experiences
Where as something like crash insane trilogy or ocarina of time 3D are just stright better versions of the originals in every way
@@donaldduck73, I think that’s the point really… for better or worse these are the original experiences, which are surely nostalgic to someone that hasn’t moved on to current gen consoles.
Stop fannying about and make a DOOM cart ffs.😂
Lol hold the phone.. that might still happen..
