Data east really knocked it out of the park back in the day with the production values of Edward Randy. I remember it used to be one of my favourites in my local arcade.
*Apologies had to make a quick cut to some music in Midnight Resistance that was copyrighted.. the replaced music does overrun slightly into Super Burger Time! Sorry about that. Copyrights are annoying.
@@JohnnyProctor9 random nonsense from the youtube library. Bloody midnight resistance tune came up as copyrighted so had to hastily remove it. So irritating
I had a wishlist of what I wanted to see on a possible Data East Arcade 2 ... and I'm delighted to see that so many games on my wishlist are going to be included: Crude Buster, Midnight Resistance, Edward Randy, Super Burger Time, Joe & Mac Returns, etc. Other games that I had on my wishlist that I'd like to see on a possible Data East Arcade 3 would be Night Slashers, Boogie Wings, Spin Master and the almighty Windjammers!
I can't wait for these new arcade cartridges. The first Data East collection is probably my favorite arcade cart on the system, it's so nice that we're finally getting more from Data East!
That last game was bizarre, but the boss was a Karnov statue with baby Karnovs holding it up. Karnov was a Data East game, and also the first boss on Bad Dudes
A great variety of games on this one and will be good for the Alpha with only four out of the twelve games being better suited to TATE Mode. Loved the inclusion of the Neffex track for Midnight Resistance :-) Keep up the awesome work!
I was thinking of getting this, but then I realised the good games in this collection I already have via the Retro Classix series, which may not be the best emulated experience, but it's still handled better than Johnny Turbo's Arcade collection by Flying Tiger Productions.
As a SHMUP fan the games on here aren't great ( unlike the ones on the new Toaplan carts) but I remember really liking Edward Randy in the arcades, so looking forward to playing that again.
Worth it for Super Burgertime alone CB. I nearly boight a Switch to get it on Johnny Turbo Arcade but then Evercade came out! Like the look of the other games...B-Wings seems to have a Xevious vibe which was also very tough. Crude Buster - quite a generic side scroller, Express Raider was one I was dying to get on the Spectrum back in 1987 & it ultimately disappointed me when it did arrive. Doesn't look like it's aged well. Joe & Mac Returns looks visually superb, a little Bubble Bobble-esque in gameplay which is never a bad thing! Last Mission looks OK. Midnight Resistance is a Contra clone but not as good. There were a lot of games like Forgotten Worlds that were in this style. Shootout looks interesting but may have a limited replay value. Peter Peppers Ice Cream Parlour & Super Burgertime are THE reasons to get this cart for me. I rarely preorder but i am going to with this. I do love a shooter but Darwin might even try my patience!! Edward Randy looks great. One I've never heard of so looking forward to that. Punch The Trio looks like a poor cross of Wonderboy meets Golden Axe/Rastan. Different though. As always a fantastic review CB and I'm 100% getting this and Toaplan 3. We are being truly spoilt with these carts.
I’m still leaning towards getting it for Crude Buster (Two Crude Dudes is such a better name lol) Joe & Mac Returns and Edward Randy. Though maybe not at launch.
Last Mission is one I'm looking forward to as I used to enjoy it on the C64. I don't really feel I need any more elimination single screen platformers after getting the Taito Super Pocket so the joe and Mac game isn't really peaking my interest. I'm surprised people aren't drawing attention to the fact that we already have so many other versions of most of these games. Isn't this the third Burgertime now? Everyone seems to be over the moon about this cart but it's another arcade shrug for me. I suppose at least they put 12 games on it...
Love em or hate em, arcade games were designed to be coin gobblers so they are all hard as nails. A difficulty level select wouldn't go a miss for sure.
No it won't, this cart is shovelware, retro doesn't always mean good, for every classic retro game there are dozens of bad quality clones and unfortunately this cart is an example of this
Not familiar with any of the games in this collection. The shoot em ups look very difficult and don't appear to be very fun to play. Edward Randy on the other hand looks fun and colorful. I will definitely pre-order this collection including the Toaplan 3 collection.
I actually prefer the arcade games that use a checkpoint system, rather than just respawning you where you die. I wouldn't have if I was putting money into an arcade machine, but for home use, at least checkpoints create some sort of reason to play as you at least have to beat sections even with umlimited continues. Breakthru was a great example. I had great fun making my way through that without save states and just using the check points. The games with respawn, I play for a few minutes and then I'm bored. I find the console carts to be generally more playable as arcade games are pretty much made to be unplayable. Maybe access to dip switches would make them a little more interestimg to me, I dont know.
Out of the Two new “leaked” carts I was gonna go with this one! Simply because it has MORE games, and the variety on it! 😊. But I think you have convinced me Crazy Burger that this cart is not as great as I initially thought?! 🤔. Back in the day this idea of games being “Stupidly Hard” as you put it. Is perhaps a thing of the Arcade past. Which could be excepted back then, because that’s all there was. With the exception of personal computers, slowly growing in the background to take over. But it strange to want to except this kind of punishment today? 🤔. Maybe a collector could appreciate them more? But for actual VALUE. I think we are having the wool pulled over are eyes?! I dunno?! 🤔
I'm not sure about the value for this collection. I dont think a lot of the games hold up well. Definitely feel that Toaplan 3 is the better cart despite having less games.
@@CrazyBurger It’s mostly shooters though! 😩. LOL! Not up my street. But now seems the better choice? 🤔. GOOD LUCK Scotland! They’ve just kicked off! 👍⚽️🏴
Not bad but not great. I really like the Genesis version of Midnight Resistance but that rotation design used in the arcade game doesn't translate well to the controller. Crude Dudes feels like it should be better and Edward Randy is fun but not as fun as I hoped it would be. I almost assumed Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja, Boogie Wings and Night Slashers would be on this cart but I may have underestimated the size of Data East's arcade library and maybe we'll see those on Data East Arcade 3?
I'm assuming we will see Data East arcade 3 at some point that'll include Boogie Wings and Night Slashers. 2 games that would make this cart so much better.
Well I was going to pick this one up as it has a variety of game unlike toaplan with is basically the same game 5 times with 2 additional ones. But you have made me think twice about thisbone, I will probably still get it but definitely not toaplan. I'm not a shootemup fan and don't like that arcade games are so hard.
I'm probably in the minority but I really don't rate many of the arcade collections. I don't play any of them and I guess this will be the same as I don't think there's anything here that grabbed my attention. I'll buy them because it's become a habit at this point 😂 On a side note I noticed a copy of the Technos collection that recently went legacy in my local CEX the other day. They were selling it for £90. £90?! CEX are just high street scalpers 😂
That ice cream shop sequel looks kind of rubbish, I'd rather be playing Diner on my Intellivision personally...I wonder why we never got that one on Evercade.

They have so many interesting games, Act Fancer & Nitro Ball would be on my list :)
Blaze doesn't do Paon DP games, they only do G-Mode games.
Hopefully, if you have the data east 1 arcade and the data east arcade 2 it’ll reveal a hidden game. Makes collecting a little more enjoyable.
That would be awesome!
2:12 YEAHHHH!!! A Data East CLASSIC! I played the crap out of the Genesis version on the Data East Console collection cart.

Day-Ta East for me. 😀
November is a long old wait, much longer than waiting for Tomb Raider lol. Nice to see some more footage, thanks Crazy! 👍
Lol I'll probably say data both ways frequently.
Hi Burger,,,Thank u for it, Absolutely amazing Data East arcades yeahh Edward Randy a gem

I'm not sure if we will ever see the Irem games that Data East published in the US like Kid Niki, Kung Fu, and Vigilante
Nothing here I love but plenty to like so I’ll be getting this one!
Awesome video. !!

Might make things easier lol
W resident evil og being rated on pedi, rumor is it’s gonna be on evercade too, possible trilogy for that Gigacart. Thoughts?
No chance. Considering Capcom won't release on carts, I'd be surprised if this happens.
By the looks of it, Edward Randy will be worth the price of the cart by itself. 🎮👍

We need a pro arcade stick for the evercade now. 💪🏻😃
You mean like the alpha.
Any USB pro arcade stick should be compatible with the VS, basically allowing you to build your own arcade cabinet if the Alpha is too small for you.
Yees. I tried woth my Xbox one Hori Fighting stick.. It works. 😃
