But the whole marketing strategy is to compare it with RE lifestyle bike which majority of channels are doing like Bajaj wants to😅.. It's clear Rajiv bajaj obsession of removing royal enfield from lifestyle segment which he has tried time and time again but failed... Triumph was never a lifestyle brand.. It's a premium brand like ducati, benelli, aprilia etc... Harley Davidson, royal enfield, Indian motorcycle, bmw (gs1200) and moto guzzi are lifestyle bike brands..... Just because a bike has long history or legacy doesn't make it a lifestyle brand....
Guys remember, he has performed several tests (Tractability, Braking performance, 0-100, Top speed) after filling up tank full. Moreover, these are stock bikes. So the mileage number achieved has been impacted due to these reasons. Anyone driving between 80-100 should get close to 30 kmpl in my opinion.
I agree, reviews seem to be 25 to 33kmpl, which sit well with the official figures of 29kmpl. It all depends on rider weight and especially riding style.
Tank full to tank full method is the best but then always ensure it is auto cut off to auto cut off. The sensor is pretty consistent across fuel pumps and u will almost always get exact same fuel level at the start and end of the mileage test. In this video it seemed like 200-300 ml more was filled compared to at the start of the test. Thanks.
Triumph real world tests show 29. Autocar tests shows 30 in city and 33 on the highway. A press bike with very low milage and which is being pushed to the limit will do less. I am not worried this won't beat a 350cc long stroke, but it will be just fine.

mileage test results and actual personal results vary more often than not, mostly because of riding styles, although a ton of other factors are responsible as well..i usually get 34 35 kmpl on my dominar400 in medium traffic conditions, and on highways i touched 37 max..
Mileage is depends upon mostly upon a riders throttle action then comes tire chain condtion and then tire pressure. And you are right if driven at 80-90kph at top gear in highway this will give 35 kmpl very easily
Not sure all these video's showing mileage test, how reliable is it?. 1st these are test vehicles 2nd they are abused by multiple riders 3rd no vlogger mentions the km run on tht bike and if it is serviced. The actual mileage will be known only after 1st service i.e after clocking probably 3-5k kms. Just my thoughts
I agree. Triumph say that in real world tests with a 50/50 mixture of city and Highway riding the bike will do 29. For what it is worth, I trust that figures, I have had 3 Triumphs over the years and have always achieved or beaten their milage figures.

I'm using cb350rs...it's top notch in comfort, reliability and mileage is 30 in heavy city and 35+ in highway but triumph is pure performance oriented and the mileage would be around 25-30 . I would say u to go for test drive all the vehicle in the price segment and decide
Why do you say so ? Isn't India the accident capital of India? And then these bikers complain about bikes not being allowed on newly opened expressways. In Japan, they have separate driving license for bikes above certain capacity. Here, any chhapri can move from 125cc to 1000cc with the same license(mostly bought) and no one would ask questions. Lakhs of motorists die every year and no one talks about the riding skills and habits of 2 wheeler riders in India.

Interceptor gives 30-32 kmpl when riding within gps100 kmph. Mileage drops every 10 percent for every 5kmph more. Your stats don't seem real! I own an Interceptor fro last 3 years.
Hi I am currently facing stalling issue when I am just holding my clutch for few moments and leaving the throttle in 2nd or 3rd gear. I have latest updates of software updates. I have been going to the service centres so many times but they are unable to find the reason, chain is clean and tight as per required still its happening. Is anyone facing the same. Also I am not feeling the initial torque anymore. I own scrambler 400
Well my TB500 returns 35-37 kmpl in a mixed situation. Where its 80% city traffic & 20% highway or open road conditions. In open roads i am within 80-100 kmph.
3:30 what kind of an overtake was that? You used the left side near the shoulder, you didn't signal the truck driver. Keep doing that and you'll end up under its tyres one day.
mind you, newer bikes give lesser mileage! my dominar used to give 20ish in the first 1000km 25ish till 2000km and now that I'm close to 3000, it is giving me about 28km and all of this is based on city riding on the highway, I get anywhere between 30-38 based on whom I'm riding with😂

Why you think that after 1st service milage will improve. Its a complete myth. Fuel injected bikes don't follow that criteria. Those happened in carborator system.

My Pulsar RS200 used to give me 30-35kmpl in neck to neck traffic. My cousins RE Hunter gives 30-32kmpl neck to neck. Considering that, the power and tech in speed 400 we can't expect that exceptional mileage. How Much mileage should a 400cc give?
Considering other have driven the bike pretty hard for the first 1000km and later you drove it for 66km so if 1 single person commutes daily drives pretty fast through city traffic can expect around 20kmpl or 25 kmpl in city
The dropoff in mileage from 350cc to 390-400cc seems huge. Honda's Cb350 bikes easily give 30+ mileage. While this bike and duke 390 both give a mileage of lower 20's. Huge deal breaker for me.

This is a short stroke engine.. I wouldn't encourage anyone to run at too low revvs.. you will screw up the engine..no need to keep it in boil, but at around 3.5 to 4 k rpm which is certainly better than a ktm.. let's come out of the old bullet Era..

I completely agree. if its liquid cooled the mileage should be atleast 30+. maybe they should have lowered the torque a bit bcoz in this segment that torque is eating all fuel and in average road conditions no ones gonna go beyond 90. all these people defending triumph that it goes 170 and all. I m like wtf we dont even have good roads to cross 90-100. an average safe rider is going to ride it at 100-110 max on highways
Bajaj is trying to topple RE since launch of duke 390, then dominar now triumph. Fact is RE is growing strong day by day. Indians do not like high revving engine, instead like steady low rpm engine. Lets see if triumph can shift customers

I disagree keeping in mind that the fuel now available is e20 which is definitely going to downgrade the milage of any bike

My CB300F has given 49+ kms/ltr on highway .. of course between 70 to 85 kms/hr consistent ..

I was cruising at 90 kmph on my pulser ug 2 in 2011, one person overtook me on splendour 100cc.I still remember that day. Lol

Speed 400 consumes fuel close to alto 800. Bekar mileage hai iss bike ka.
All 400 cc bikes like adventure 390, dominar 400, himalayan 400.
can gv mileage around 26 to 30 max.
So triump in same segment giving mileage of 22 is a concern..
And thats a big drawback for indian buyers if anyone looking for mileage..
Also service and maintenance of 400 cc bikes wil b on higher side..

I completely agree. if its liquid cooled the mileage should be atleast 30+. maybe they should have lowered the torque a bit bcoz in this segment that torque is eating all fuel and in average road conditions no ones gonna go beyond 90. all these people defending triumph that it goes 170 and all. I m like wtf we dont even have good roads to cross 90-100. an average safe rider is going to ride it at 100-110 max on highways

Bajaj is trying to topple RE since launch of duke 390, then dominar now triumph. Fact is RE is growing strong day by day. Indians do not like high revving engine, instead like steady low rpm engine. Lets see if triumph can shift customers
