I remember that one lick from 13 years ago. My exgf downloaded this album and I remember I was upset that it was so different from their first 2. But they were both different from each other. Anyway I think my main problem was that SHE like it and well it was a fucked up relationship. Anyway, I love brand new and I love this song and I’ll always remember that part.
I kinda wish that, instead of just jokingly-ironically acknowledging how hipster they're trying to be by releasing weird random demos on cassette tape in 2016, they'd just get over themselves and be what they are, which is just a good band, and release another album already. It's been 6 years, FFS.....
a lot of artists never release their demos at all because it's embarrassing to show unfinished work when they know the songs are capable of becoming more. those songs were leaked and the band was really bummed about it. putting them out on cassette is a fun way for the fans to get a glimpse at the songs without fully legitimizing them
but they finished all the songs now assuming Good Man was designed to be acoustic and Battalions = Archers (implying they won't remake it) we have 1. Good Man (complete) 2. 1996 (3 demos reworked) 3. Brother's Song (3 demos reworked) 4. Missing You (3 demos reworked) 5. Nobody Moves (this got leaked and is in some downloads and came on some cassettes) 6. Luca (TDAGARIM) 7. Fork and Knife (Released as single) 8. Yeah (TDAGARIM) 9. Battalions (TDAGARIM)
BashDynamic people assume that because the melody in the choruses are similar, they won't rehash that song. just a theory. none of the lyrics or other instrumentals made it. just that one "we'll burn on our own tonight" part, sounds like "what did you learn tonight". that's all, pal
