    What a fascinating glimpse into the Erddig Estate! I really enjoyed learning about the different owners throughout history and how their lives shaped the estate’s legacy, especially the Yorke family and their appreciation for their servants. The intertwining of British history and personal stories makes it feel so alive. Thank you for bringing it to light!

      Good morning Dave and Dawn. Thank you for your kind comments and for watching the video. I remember seeing a programme, possibly the Antiques Roadshow, where they showed the paintings and photos of the staff. I didn't realise it was Erddig until doing my walk around. Have a great week both. Best wishes, McB.

    Why wasn’t the family ennobled with a hereditary title?

    • @mcbrowser
      @mcbrowser  24 дня назад

      Thank you for watching. There are a few reasons the family weren't enobled - In short, while the Yorkes were influential in their local community, they lacked the combination of wealth, political power, and ambition often needed for ennoblement in their era.
