For someone who didn’t get the original figure I’m glad my wife got this for me!
The updated heads look great, and the plastic molding and deco look a lot cleaner. Maybe ML needs something like the Black Series archive subline so people don't get so mad?
That's pretty much what they're doing with the Infinity Saga line. In addition to giving us brand new figures that Hasbro never did for any of the movies before, they're also using it to reissue updated versions of older MCU figures. This is more or less Marvel Legends' version of the Archive Collection.
I wouldn't expect Hasbro to make a completely new mold for this figure but at the very least I would have liked it if they made a bigger torso. He goes from rail thin to broad almost instantly.
Let’s hope they do go that route. It would be a great change and in present day we’re at that time where everything changes. So let’s hope they do that I’d be totally down if they give us a taller endgame Captain America since how small he is compared to some of the other characters that he’s taller than in the movies
And to make him taller cause the Bruce banner from endgame is taller than this figure who knows why
Definitely picking this one up to be my MCU Cap. The original figure wasn't awful, so I'm not as salty about this one being a re-release.

Fwiw, this mold was my favorite for a long time. As a long time collector, Im glad that theyre giving people an option to grab these again. Theres nothing new enough for me and thats great. Money saved. But if Civil War was your favorite and you werent collecting 10 years ago, its nice to be able to pick up a pack fresh figure for MSRP or possibly clearance.
Now if Hasbro wants my money, they gotta up the ante and value. Theres other companies now that are putting out superior products at better prices. Just theyre not the marvel license.
I didn't start collecting until the first Guardians of the Galaxy wave so I had just missed out on all the Winter Soldier figures, now with the flashback Winter Soldier from last year (or 2 years, I forgot) and these 2 re-releases of Steve and Nat I finally will have that movie represented on my shelf so it's a must get for me even with the outdated stuff.
As a Captain collector myself i like this one a lot !!! 😉😁
I already have my definitive MCU Steve Rogers Cap, but I never got the original Stealth Suit release back in the day. I might get this one if I find it for a good price, or if I come across it out in the wild.
One thing I find odd about this figure (and all subsequent releases of this mold including the AoU/CW remold) is the lack of alternate hands. The original came with the karate chop and pointing hands, but every release since excludes them. A part of me thinks Hasbro actually lost the original tooling for those hands.
I wish that cap figure was at least as tall as the winter soldier who I think scales quite nicely. Maybe we’ll get a tall enough cap one day
I feel like I can pass on Cap but I don’t know if I can with Black Widow. The head sculpt and arms are making me want it 😂
I'm really glad that we have 3 releases of Steve rogers Bucky/winter soldier and Natasha in their outfits from the winter soldier movie I really wish that we got a samWilson/falcon figure from the movie.
Agreed “Winter Soldier” is the best. I wasn’t that interested in the MCU until that movie.

I remember getting the original of this. I called him Steve Rogers pre-super soldier serum 😂😂😂. Oh Hasbro.
As much as I love the figure. Wished they added more muscle to the arms like the endgame version. Especially they should’ve made him as tall as iron man. Same goes for the endgame version not a fan of him being so short so I hope they fix that in the future

The skin tone on the old one looks like captain central America. The new one has better paint but not by much.
Also if you have another Red White and Blue Shield from the Marvel Legends MCU lineup you can actually give that Shield the red white and blue one to the shield strike suit because he does have that shield with his colors when he's talking to Pierce he was in the elevator when he was is surrounded by strike and shield agents who are actually hydra agents and we get that iconic before we start does anyone want to get out? Line when he's fighting them in the elevator.

One of my favorite designs for the MCU Captain America but always felt it was too thin and obviously the wrong head cast but glad they gave us a better Chris Evan’s cast
I want to get this figure and make a commander Rodgers out of it like MCU style, maybe with the infinity warhead with a little bit of a gray dry brush, and put a gun holster on his hip and find someway to incorporate the shields like use the Wakanda and shield or something. I don’t know if it goes on clearance I might do that, but this is my second favorite suit of caps so I might get it anyway.😂
My only problem is that they never do the shield that can attach to the back with the mcu Captain America’s

4:34 I agree, the deco on the old shield is much better. It's just supposed to be the normal shield with blue over the red. The silver is too dark on the new shield and the blue around the star is off. I also don't like how the underside is blue and not screen accurate. The shield should've been molded silver, like the First Avenger shield, and had the blue painted on.
i have de old cap from 2014 and i switch heads with end game one and it looks really good so thanks to this vid i think im not buying the new one
I only ordered him for the Shield. I will be using the figure as an Evil Version of Captain America I will be calling Captain Anarky! I wanted the Shield in the alternate color and I can use the head.
Definitely this figure is a want!

Winter Solider Movie Nostalgia …
looks like they used the worthy cap headsculpt with a different hairstyle, that head is slighly wider on the cheeks compared to the the civil war head

Actually, the end game cap has a weird scale, short. Perhaps not as great proportions.
I don't know if you've noticed it by now, but the new Winter Soldier Stealth Cap is a little taller. Looking at this NOW, this late in the game, because I didn't know they had released this new Stealth Cap, but he's about a millimeter taller. The side by side comparison reveals that at three points, he's taller. Look at the hands, the chest, and the top of the head. It looks like the quads are what makes the difference. I don't know if they are new molds, but they gave him height SOMEWHERE. I had just seen a couple of 85th Anniversary Black Widow reviews, including yours, because I finally got the price on Amazon that I wanted. I pirated the arms and heads to make a better version of Winter Soldier Black Widow, and swap the short haired head for my Age Of Ultron Widow. Point is I saw your video and ordered this Cap figure because I got rid of my Original Stealth Cap, and saw this review, so I ordered one from Amazon for a decent price. But watching this a second time (because I was slightly drunk last night), I noticed the difference.
It’s the same mold. New un-helmeted head is bigger.
Look closely at the abcrunch/crotch piece. There's slightly extra length at the top of the abs on the new one where the chest meets the abs. Like I said the shoulders are slightly above the older ones, also. Whatever happened with this re-release, there's a new part somewhere that affects the height, and it's not just the new head. Pause the video where your two caps are standing next to each other at the 10:56 mark. You can see it at the shoulders and chest. It's there.

You don't grip the heads properly when removing them. You need to pull from under the chin and pull up

I think the old head is better. Better proportions, the newer one is got softer paint and looks bigger. Weird. 😛🍿

P.S.
- it would’ve been nice to have butterfly-joints in the shoulders. ‘Cause it would give it even range of dynamic poses.
In the movie there's a scene where the shield doesn't seems clearly BC of the type of material or paint, the first ed shield looks more like that shield.

Always liked the body on that figure, but HATED the head sculpt…. Also the face looked very cheap…. Back when ToyBiz was doing movie figures they had a skin base paint and even the lips were painted on male figures….
