I am a big Ridley Scott fan and think the first Gladiator is his best film. I also feel he is very much trying to recapture the glory of his best work by doing new Iterations of his past work instead of creating something fresh and new. Very similar to James Cameron maybe it's an age thing and they don't know when to quit when they are already a head.

Yeah, maybe that's true, but you have the likes of Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg, and Martin Scorsese who are at similar ages and still can knock them out the park with Clint Eastwood being the oldest. Age may not matter. Just the ideas of ideas have dried up for certain creative, including Ridley Scott. Let's just see how Gladiator II reactions are when it comes out it may very well surprise us 😃
