    Thank you very much for this review! I was disappointed to learn through you your review that this Bushnell/GC3 is not compatible with iOS and projection.
    I’m a 1.4 handicap in the market for the Bushnell/GC3. I thought it was kind of odd that Bushnell made a copy of the GC3 but finally found out they bought out Foresight which makes total sense.
    At $7000 today for the GC3/Bushnell buyout with club data plus the now $500 per year subscription it would take you 7 years of subscription based play to see the ROI on up front cost of the unit. I can’t stand subscriptions so I’m going to bite the bullet. Thanks again

    I own (and love) the GC3, and this is a good video. If you want professional grade accuracy on path, CHS, ball speed, spin rate, spin axis, and horizontal and vertical launch angles and need a camera LM for use indoors in a limited space, the GC3 is going to be far and away your best choice. If you don't need professional grade precision and/or radar would work, there are other drastically cheaper options. The tech is going to keep getting better and cheaper too.

    I just wish I’d seen your video before I traded (Gave to my brother) my SkyTrak and bought a GC3. I had heard not a nary of a negative thought about the device and they had a “Black Friday” deal for $1000 off so I made an impulse decision and bought the GC3.
    All of the comments (except the GC3 was easy to set up) are valid. Even worse you are severely limited in the sim SW you can get. EACH additional course to the ten provided, four of which are ‘fictional’, costs between $150 and a whopping $750. The TGC and E6 SW I had on SkyTrak were much easier to play and a lot more fun, sigh.
    Anyway, thanks for a great video.

    great info - 1k annual subscription just to use this - are you kidding me?!! Skytrak is the sweet spot between the Garmin and the Buschnell. it's under 2k and gives you full stats forever for free. for $100 per year you get more like club fitting and some challenge stuff (but optional) or $100 a year for e6. Gives excellent data and very accurate imo

    SOOOOOOOOOOO glad I watched this. I was all on board until you said PC. That is the ultimate dealbreaker. I am sure this is going to sound snobby, but it is still the truth, most people that can afford $7k for a golf simulator is not rocking a gaming PC. this is kind of misleading - without any subscription you get 7 data points and the driving range, and with the basic package you get all the data points. Gold only gets you FSX Pro (sim software with 10 courses). Most people opt for the basic ($250/yr) then also get a different sim software like TGC or GSpro (unlimited courses) which are both better then FSX in my opinion. Still cheaper that 800/yr but you're about $500/yr give or take.

    Are you able to project onto a monitor the driving range without a PC?
    My other concern is based on the subscription fee it appears that five years is how long they expect this device to live. If you spend $2500 on a TV and it fails in five years, you’re pretty disappointed. If you spend $8000 on a launch monitor and it dies after five years, that would be extremely disappointing.

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  Год назад

      Personally I dont see any reason why this wouldnt last far more than 5 years, so I dont know if that would be a buying concern for me personally. But if you're going to do anything simulator related, then you'll need a PC. If you have the right cord/projector you can probably find a way to project the ipad app onto a screen or monitor, but that will just essentially give you the driving range setup, not actually playable simulator courses.

    so i have been researching for a while now on the launch monitors, i really want to get something which can give me the most accuurate data to help with me fixing my slicing of the ball when hitting a driver. going to the range is not easy but i do have free time inbetween my day to hit some balls around.
    it would be great if you make a video showing if the gc3/bushnell detects slicing or beginner golf shots , even a comparison of how the launch monitors detect poor golfing shots

    • @ricardofmartinez8693
      @ricardofmartinez8693 2 года назад +1

      it detects all of that and much much more spin , angle of attack , club patch, launch angle , ball speed , club speed, carry distance , total distance , etc , etc... its a great product. I have one and vouch for it. It is super accurate , same as trackman or GCquad He makes some good points but in my experience this is the most accurate and best launch monitor next to the 18k GCQuad or Trackman.

  • @huikh2r
    @huikh2r 2 года назад +1

    I have searched for months, but can't find the result anywhere. Every video clip on youtube compare Bushnell Launch Pro to Trackman and GC Quard indoor, and yes, it is on par with those. The thing is nobody compare bushnell data to real ball flight. Such as, if the ball fy 3 degree to the left, does bushnell show 3 degree to the left? If ball flight has a draw, does bushness also show a draw. I had Skytrack, distance and backspin are all about correct, but the direction that skytrack shows can be off quite a bit. Would you please take Bushnell on the range outdoor and compare the data to real ball flight? If confirm good, I will buy Bushnell.

    • @breakingeighty

      As I understand it, no, they are exactly the same. When you boot up the Launch Pro it says "Foresight Sports." You use the Foresight app for everything, so I believe it's literally the same hardware. I havent used the GC3 personally, so I can't tell you which one is fastest. But I'd assume it's pretty much the same for both.

      Once you buy the full unlock, the FSX 2020 you download is the same one that you download for GC3 (whereas the subscription based FSX 2020 is a different executable file). So as far as FSX 2020 usage is concerned, it's the same. However, with GC3, you can also use FSX play which is a simulation with much better graphics, although there are certain features within FSX 2020 simulation that is better (some of this is subjective). FSX Play should be available for BLP in the future according to the FSX play page of the Foresight website, but no date is given. I've also noticed that the number of courses you get with the GC3 essentials plus bundle is 11 courses, vs. the 9 I got when I unlocked my BLP, but that doesn't bother me much personally (for all I know, it could be a documentation error). I personally don't think Bushnell (who owns Foresight) had developed a very robust plan on how to differentiate the two (effectively same) models from the consumer's perspective, other than one offering the subscription option. The documentation is poor, it often refers to documents in the Foresight website for instructions, etc., while Foresight refers you to contact Bushnell support if you own BLP instead of GC3. It almost feels like they're pointing fingers at each other, and not acting like a unified company. The product, despite some initial issues that I had that seems to have been solved by recent firmware update, is solid. I personally don't think the FSX Pro is all that difficult to understand, my only issue with it is random disconnects via wifi (so using FSX2020 with hardwired connection to the unit is the most stable, and obviously FSX2020 has lot more features than FSX pro). With a recent sale they had on full unlock, I saved over 1500 over the GC3 (although even the GC3s were on sale for a short period of time), and the unit itself I got it sales tax free. It's been tremendously helpful (and a great time saver, which helps to justify the cost) to see my swing path and angle of attack with some swing changes I'm making.
