it's pretty rare... this is the only place where you hear it on-line. It's only available on a few rare bootlegs. Song was used in a car commercial in Japan.
So much of Warren influence here. Love it! Wish Warren could be lead guitarist again for Duran Duran. He is what the band needs now to complete the puzzle.
Why didn't they play songs like that when Andy came back for the reunion? Cause the big thing that caused their split up was bcs Nick and John (more Nick then John) wdnt agree to play harder rock. I betcha that pi$$ed Andy off and I don't blame him.
yes. Simon and Nick Wood wrote the song. I believe Duran Duran recorded it during the pop trash era. A Japanese ban, Zwei, covered it and changed it a bit.
I agree-he is underrated both as a guitarist and as a Duran member-he's a very lovely guy (in person) too. Lots of fans don't consider him to be as good as Andy Taylor, but in my eyes, he's equal in talent and contributed as much to Duran Duran.
yes... Simon and Nick Wood wrote the song, Duran Duran recorded it around the pop Trash era and it was in a Japanese car ad. A Japanese Band Zwei covered it, tweaked it a bit for their album.
Not a Duran Duran song. It is a song by a Japanese band called Zwei. It was co-written by Simon Le Bon and released on the band's Pretty Queen album on 14 October 2004.
yes it was recorded and released by Zwei... but this is not that version. This version was written by Simon LeBon and Nick Wood. The Zwei version is a little different and was tweaked by Zwei - music and lyrics, so on that version it was only co-written by Simon LeBon and Nick Wood.
Witten by Simon and Nick Wood. Recorded around the pop trash era by Duran Duran (I believe this because it was on 2 DD bootlegs before the Simon LeBon Bootleg). Used in a Japanese car ad. Covered and tweaked by Japanese band Zwei.
Warren cuccurilo was the best thing to happen to Duran Duran .. shame Simon treated him like dirt .. he lifted them to a whole other level .. by far the most talented musician amongst them
Excuse me, Duran were generally brilliant before he joined, though hinted at losing their way early when their weakest, dodgiest album was done in their so-called golden era early (their 3rd!), but he certainly added an extremely important and necessary bunch of components once Andy left, even more so as Warren seems very Brit in his way of making music, whereas Andy's too US driven and guitar-heavy. There's no way Warren's "by far the most talented musician amongst them", though, I get you're angry at the way they (on their shit label's insistence) so short-sightedly dumped him, then got their comeuppance when the old problems-namely between Nick and Andy resurfaced, and I might add it's almost ALWAYS the record label's fault, these cunts have a long line of splitting decent artists up with each other and fraying relationships. Bangles and Shakespears Sister are 2 such examples; their even worse with girls. Simon should have been better but they ALL agreed with shitheads Sony at the time. Remember that. Anyway, all 6 Duran's (including Warren) have proved their massive talents time and again. Simon is a superb and imaginative and timelist lyricist and excellent singer with a massive range, Nick is an amazing keyboardist, producer, art-designer and all round visionary, John's an excellent bassist, Roger an excellent drummer, and Andy's a fine guitarist and vocalist, just clearly prefers a sound that's not Duran! He must have joined the wrong group all those years ago and Warren is excellent to, and the perfect American to fit so seamlessly into the group. I wish he'd return, though even without him, their albums actually have weirdly had their most perfect run of seamless quality. A coincidence I know, but then Duran, unlike others, were never tied to their 80s, having done much of their best work since the 80s long went. Warren always made more sense in the group than Andy, but this is life now.
@@bukitkatilmp no one said that's why he left .. its well known but not spoken about how Simon was always pretty rude and abrupt with him .. Duran Duran ended Warren's contract with the band earlier than its original agreement in order to have Andy come back on board so they could start the 03/04 world tour with the original line up
@@Wolfdog370 But the real reason he left was not Simon. It was Nick. Warren mentioned in an interview back then that he still spoke to John and Simon then. His beef was with Nick and not the others.
@@MissNovemberTuesday Sure. Duran Duran - Here Today, Gone Tomorrow (Bootleg) Duran Duran - Viral Underground (Bootleg) Simon LeBon - Footsteps (Bootleg)
I think he's right. Yes it's a SYN (Simon, Yasmin And Nick) Productions song, written by Simon LeBon and Nick Wood. Song was not used and was given to Zwei - who changed it dramatically, both lyrically and musically. This version has nothing to do with Zwei. This was the first "draft" demo of the song to be considered for a Duran Duran album, much like P.L. You (which was a Warren Cuccurullo song) but was recorded by Duran Duran. It didn't make the cut and was shelved for a few years. It was later used for a car commercial (Subaru). It's up in the air as to who recorded this song. The song appears on two Duran Duran Bootlegs (both very rare - "Here Today Gone Tomorrow" and "Viral Underground") and 1 SLB bootleg "Footsteps". It should be noted, that the SLB bootleg (Footsteps) also had early Duran Duran demos, recorded by Duran Duran (Who do you think you are, Michael you've got a lot to answer for and Starting to Remember - which were written and recorded around the same time as Pretty Queen) but none of these "releases" are official releases from either Duran Duran or SYN productions and there are no official "liner notes" denoting who performed on this song in studio.
