Great work Mark, I think the reason your channel is doing so well is you show your build. Attention to detail, explain what, why and how it is. Some channels is more talk than work. That's why I subbed to you, great job as always waiting on the next one!!
Mark, thank you very much for the kind words. I'm going to keep doing this the same way. I'm having fun with it. I'm hoping to get the shop cleaned up real good this weekend and start on the El Camino Monday.
You engine bays are truly an inspiration! I’m getting back into the hobby after 20 some years away. Always been a car guy, even as a teen I tried to to plug wires and stuff. And I just love seeing models that don’t look pristine restored and never driven, with tons of fake chrome. Great job.
Thank you very much. I always say, "Even if it's a show car there's going to be dirt on that chassis." I do try and make the interiors and bodies look clean, but I'll get into the engine and add panel liner to highlight and dirty up the engine just enough to make them look used. Thank you for watching my videos.
@@grandpamarkshobbies I watched one of your engine videos showing the panel liner. That really made me realize that’s what’s missing on so many model Engines. Not necessarily that they look dirty, but depth. On a real engine, parts cast shadows on other parts. The model Is so small those shadows are lost. The panel liner really gives the impression of those shadows.
That's exactly why I use it. I did mostly ships and aircraft for years as a kid, and learned how to make panel liner with oil paints and turpentine to highlight and weather. Then after about 30 some years of not building my son joined the Navy and I wanted to build his ship. With the help of hours of Google and reading forums I learned how panel liner can be used for so much more. Check out this video out. ruclips.net/video/0KLfx0dzCtk/видео.html It's a little different way to use panel liner, but does a great job.
OMG!!! Nice work!!!! Can I ask , where did you get the green paint. I'm doing a tribute car to the Cars band!!!! Want to keep it as close as I can to their Cars album cover with the Green Duster.
Absolutely dead on with the weathering, you probably bought that car late 70s early 80s was an original owner car, when they were just cars, now you have a nice driver to start to restore some day, excellent work, thanks for sharing, J
Thank you very much. You know I want to do another one restored. Just so I can have them together on the shelf. I think that would be a cool conversation piece.
What a work of Art Mark! Thanks for sharing your build and tips a long the way! It looks amazing and all the weathering effects and details turned out perfect!! It looks like the real thing! Yeah those side windows were a nightmare on both of my Dusters too but like you said other than that, it's a great kit that goes together so nice! Look forward to your next build man!😎
Thank you very much. You know a lot of people who've built this kit has told me they built more than one. LOL. Well I just ordered one so I'll have it on hand when I need another Duster fix. LOL Thanks again for watching and the kind words.
I just happen to run across your channel today , saw Duster and had to check it out.. I watched #6 I think it was, then went back and watched Start to Finish.. I have to say that I really enjoyed each one.. And the finished project is spot on.. Your detail work turned out great , and your weathering is fantastic.. I'm definitely Subbing your channel and I'm going back and checking out some more of your builds..👍🦅🇺🇸🦅
It looks really great weathered that way. I would add just a touch of rust in one or both lower corners of the back window. That's where many of the 70's cars rusted. Other than that, it really does look great. It's just an idea.
Thanks for the kind words. I'll ad that next time I get the rusting stuff back out. I added it to the top corner, but adding it to the bottom will look great. Thanks.
That came out pretty good. Nice work. I did tell you you'd like that kit. I've always thought that kit was one of the good ones. Be well and happy modeling!
one of my favorite cars. it's been a pleasure seeing this series as it goes along. keep up the great work on to another one of my favorites vehicles lol
Outstanding work on this. Thoroughly enjoyed the playlist of the car. The Ranger was in dry dock in Bremerton Wa when my submarine was. We had some epic softball games with both their teams in the mid 80s!
Thanks for watching. I was on her back then. We had a lot of fun in Bremerton. Hated dry dock, but loved everything else. Great times. I'd love to go back again.
I was in the Machine shop on the ship, and honestly I held sub sailors in the highest regards. I don't care what anyone says that's a tough job to be isolated like that for so long.
Thank you very much. Those are albums. LOL. I just found the covers I liked, copied them and resized them. Then printed them on regular printer paper. I cut them out and used a black chalk pencil to darken the edge. Then I glued them down with Mod Podge. I will do this again for sure.
amazing Mark, absolutely amazing. You put my current Duster build to shame, akkkk. Check it out if you want, i just did a update video on my channel today. Cheers...
LOL. I don't know what you are talking about. I think your Duster is coming along great. I just subscribed, and will start from the beginning tomorrow. I like the idea of an AAR Duster.

Great result Mark! Fun build, fun extras and weathering. Really nice job. Look forward to the next one!!
Thank you very much.
Look great Mark. Thanks for the weathering tips on this build. Lots of useful information. I will definitely be rewatching this series of videos!
Thank you very much. I'm happy to be able to help out.
I believe that is one of the best realistic used cars ever
Thank you. It was my first weathered car. I think I want to do a few more.

that is one of the best model you ever put together great looking model
I think the best model I've ever put together is a 1/350th USS Bataan. It took me almost a year and a half to build, but it was a fantastic journey.
i'm happy for you grandpa
That came out pretty good. Nice work. I did tell you you'd like that kit. I've always thought that kit was one of the good ones. Be well and happy modeling!

Wow, super cool build! I built that kit not to long ago and as you said "I had no problems". The weathering looks too real! Thanks for sharing!

@@grandpamarkshobbies how cool. Small world. As Sub sailors we loved dry dock. And yes, Bremerton/ Seattle areas were a lot of fun!

It's a great kit. Just don't forget to sand the bottom of the side windows all the way down.
@@grandpamarkshobbies Thanks Mark, yeah I'll have to keep that in mind.
I might do one side like it's partially rolled down... Who knows? Lol
I found out those windows don't roll down. If they did you know I would have chucked them. LOL
