I saw SRV in Wellington NZ 1986. I was right in front of him, i yelled at him "Play some Hendrix", He looked at me and into the mic said "you wanna hear some Hendrix?" 2000 people yelled yeah!!, he then slayed Voodoo Chile for 20 minutes. Then i gave Tommy Shannon a joint which he smoked while playing. That wasn't a dream, but i was in heaven.
Wow my dad had a VHS of this back in the 90s. I remember sitting there with my first act acoustic at 6 years old being blown away by every one of these people and in that moment, my real love for the blues was born. There isn’t a genre like it and there will never be another like SRV. Hearing BB King sing such high praises always stuck with me, Bonnie’s rendition “he’s my pride and joy” - little things like that have stayed with me and it’s great to be brought back. Thank you for sharing!
Saw this PBS special back in the 90s (along with the Santana Sacred Fire in Mexico), introduced me to Blues and forever altered my taste in music! What an amazing guitarist SRV was and this was such a beautiful tribute! That Tiktok song toward the end is what the world needs these days!!
Thank you for posting this for the public to see! Not all heros wear capes. I had a DVD of this and it got stolen. I'll be buying a copy of this in the morning. Thanks again!

Two items stand out in this Tribute like a sore thumb….. (1) High regard and respect for SRV (2) BB King’s Gibson Lucille stands out like a lone wolf in that sea of Fender Stratocasters. RIP SRV
Ajudou a renovar o blues e a própria guitarra. Abraços do Brasil.
Darn BB Delivered again. Just before BB Died they flew my buddy up from St Petersburg to open up for BB in Arkansas. Lee Pons New Orleans boggie . Dr Johns friend. I'm 61 from Tampa. Guitar player. Music in the 80's was local and national. From Seven Mary three to Death Metal in Tampa. We all wanted to be King of the Mountain. It was a fun time. When you're pot dealer was your friend and bassist. 80's were nuts. When SVR hit the circuit even the shredders were impressed. Cause he had Soul not flat scales.
I feel quite the opposite in terms of his playing and his vocal interpretation. I've always admired Jimmy's carriage in this specific performance. He's not a technical player at all, nor does he pass himself off as one. I find the economy in his playing deeply bluesy and cool.
¡Impresionante documento tributo a Stevie Ray Vaughan! ESKERRIK ASKO SUPERUNAITXU!!! GORA ZU! ruclips.net/video/wgIB1OL09H0/видео.html
Jimmie made Stevie whether he know's it or not. He's a one trick Pony when it comes to Guitar though and he looks nervous as Hell. Bonnie Rait though! Whoo that woman can play.
Honestly feel kinda bad for Jimmie. He wasn't anywhere close, not in the ballpark, not even in the same planet as his brother. Stevie wad light years beyond him in talent and power. I couldn't even listen to texas flood, like man...embarrassing
man stfu, they were both good in their own right. i love SRV just as much as anyone else but im not gonna dickride him and tear his brother down just because he might not play as fast and as loud as he did
I do t know what you were listening too. But there was only one SRV ....but Jommie did a powerful from his heart tribute to his little brother....damn , I can't understand your comment...
It may not have the soul of Texas Flood, but it has the soul of Jimmie Vaughan and he expressed his UNIQUE love for his brother through that rendition of that song. I wish I could play with as much heart as Jimmie does in this tribute. Don't forget Jimmie was famous and skilled WAY before stevie was even out of 10th grade.
Well... Jimmie's style is not Stevie's style--why should it be? "Texas Flood" was written by Larry Davis and famously played by Fenton Robinson in a completely different--and "clean"--way. To each his own. As for Jimmie as a player, he was pretty impressive on the first two Fabulous Thunderbirds albums, which I listened to before I even heard of Stevie. Obviously Stevie had more energy and stage presence than his brother, but IMO they are not from different planets, they're both from "Planet Texas".

behind his back acoustic i saw with my dad in Austin Tx when I was 10 lol
People, you have not lived until you have heard Buddy Guy play that one sustain that speaks to the cosmos...
Machine gun by Hendrix has a note just like that too. I could listen to those guys. Play one note all day
We all have missed you Stevie ray. My most favorite of them all. ❤.

One of the best line up ever….love the blues…this is a masterpiece
Seen Stevie and double trouble,in New York, in 87, he was unreal,it was awesome, what a memory to have,of one the greats
You sure were lucky!
Can't stop watching that buddy guy solo in SRV shuffle and eric's laugh at the same time.
Best of blues in one video. One of the best performances of Eric Clapton ,,!,,,
Epic!!! I bet SRV was looking down humble seeing all of the love he passed on to his heroes!!! Brother topping the list 😊
SRV is awesome, no description can match his style and talent, but everyone one of these artists paying tribute are fantastic!
Ótimo tributo a SRV. Adoro a música tick tock. Ótimo dvd.
Buddy Guys appearance on here is my favorite. Oozzs style. Really love BB’s Telephone Song & of course good ol Dr. John is a treat!
Buddy Guy was the star . He and albert loved svr. Obviously Abert was passed at the time.

Thank you so much for posting this💜💜
I have not had the pleasure to see Buddy Guy play live that note he holds at about 26:15 is piercing! 😳
I’ve just had the pleasure and it’s incredible he is phenomenal live so much better than in recordings, RUclips and dvds just don’t do it justice 😮
Thank you for sharing this. Much as gracias!

Thanks a lot for such a jewel
Damn Jimmie butchered the fuck out of Texas flood
I agree. I don't think he even realized it either. I had to fast fwd through that one.

@@liminal27 butchered as in, failed in attempting to sound like his brother or any other well skilled blues guitarist
@@liminal27 yes. I think he did a good job. He made it his own.
I think it was great
behold the real music! music is made by actual people
What a tributen!!
B.B. and Jimmie got it going on!
Never be another...some try God bless them but ...the mold is broke. There was no mold...just the one of a kind...SRV
It’s like lightning went thru his body. From his fingertips. He died Sober !!!

Menudas maquinas....
He would of been massive to watch play against other guitarist in duels, CROSSROADS

I wonder why Chris Layton only played drums on one song.
Love u Buddy!
For those who think Joan Jett can out preform Bonnie Rait, prove it !!!
She shouldn’t have changed the lyrics
