Glad Jimmie got to do this with his brother. He inspired him and watched what his brother became, with no feelings of envy. The talent was in their blood.
U see the love jimmie had wen he hugged him at the end i talkd to jimmy once he askd me about the pic of him n stevie on my shirt i could see the loss was still great in his eyes this was 21 yrs after stevie died ..poor mans heart still aches
If you play guitar you understand how difficult this is to do . I have never seen anyone even attempt to try this. Truly amazing by the Vaughn brothers.
They are both great guitar players, they just played different styles of music. Jimmie has the style of the fifties, and Stevie had that influence and that of the blues of Albert King and a few others mixed in. I play the guitar abd l love the blues. When I hear people play I easily can hear who influenced their style. Don't pick sides as to who is better. Just enjoy their talent.
Stevie Ray had something special that not all guitar players had and it kills me that when they make up these lists of the greatest guitar players Stevie is not listed in the top 5 of all time that just ain't right!!
The brothers had the same influences, and they both listened to the same musicians growing up, but they ultimately close different paths. Jimmie was a shredder in his teens but as he got older preferred the traditional blues/jazz styles, whereas Stevie preferred rock’n’roll. Comparing them is meaningless-like comparing BB King to Albert King. I just appreciate their gifts and enjoy immensely when I hear them play together.
You can hear the difference in the attack, Stevie hits the strings much harder, always heard he was a heavy right handed player. Jimmy definitely no slouch either. Love this.
It's great to see 2 Bros. actually get along and rock out together...but Stevie got the FULL MUSIC DNA STRAND I feel sorry for his brother...he just never could pick up that super wailing guitar pickin' ...but he 's a good guitarist...
Shame they never learnt a part where one strums while the other bro makes the chord changes...... would be pretty hard I can imagine ...I've seen it before on one guitar...but a double neck...strumming a melody while your doing a lead that is being picked by some one else who is making the chords that your strumming too....think I got that right...head fk..that's what it is

I used this for the intro to a teamwork meeting! Everyone was in shock and loved it! Coolest training meeting ever!!!!!!!
I never saw Stevie but was fortunate enough to see Jimmy Play at Red Rocks with the Fabulous Thunderbirds!
Ive watched this several times through the decades since we all lost SRV. Still makes me smile & tap my foot👍😊
Absolutely wonderful!!😊❤️❤️

this is the coolest thing i have ever seen!!!
I saw them do this,, both playing the same guitar at the same time at a show in ATL years ago. One of the most amazing guitar work I have ever seen!!
Wow! That was great to see!! Although he could have been jealous, instead his older brother was very proud of him!
Amazing 4 people on stage and just the 2 of them making all that music
Double Trouble on a Doubleneck, double good.😄
People in 1987 watching this live: “Wait there’s two of them?!”

Fantastic the blood connection.
It's like magic flowing right before my eyes.phenominal connection on the frets!

Well said, John Fair. Well said.

I wish my brother played guitar so we could do this together
imagine tripping at this show and stevie grows another set of arms lmaooo
Love this Thanks!
I don't think jimmie cares about shredding solos as much as a lot of you guys. His playing is more minimal but every note has his use
Yeah he seemed to love a good rhythm more than a solo
You are someone that understands very nice to read your comment
very much agreed. this is legit
EXCELLENT !!!
Love it
Stevie is the more famous but Jimmy is an awesome axe man as well.
Crazy !!!
Just 2 bros Bro-in out
Surely only brothers can do that
SRV, and his brother.
SRV and Jimmie pipeline 1987 New Orleans

I was going to make a Siamese twins joke, but that's not PC. And I don't know how to spell "conjoined".
I guess you could say they are musically and DNA conjoined since playing is in their blood.
Jesus Christ died for you so live for him and live
Lol
