I just saw Jimmie in Denver in September opening for Clapton. Clapton brought him on for one number at the end of that show. That's the closest I'll ever get to seeing SRV.
man its so frustrating when people dont appreciate jimmie, absolutely love his guitar playing. His work with the thunderbirds, the tones the riffs such heavy in your face blues, I always believed a great guitar player is always at core a great rhythm player first.
I totally agree. There has never been a better example of two similar people being totally different individuals. They both had a lot of the same influences but I'm sure they each had a few different ones as well. People have to start realizing that they are two great and completely different guitarists who just so happen to be brothers.
Oh how we all wish Stevie would have exited that helicopter with you Jimmie. What a fabulous artist and man he was. His missed all over the world. I can only imagine how much you miss him.
Dear Jimmie, all these years later I still feel for you, man. Miss your little brother so much. Bless you for loving him. The two of you are what makes life worth living for so many of us. I still remember where I was when I read the news.
It's something you never forget no matter how many warm Miller's you had that night ..I was just a young man but it was awesome! The Pier was a great place to be in the Summer and SRV was a must be there show.
This audience is sitting there jaws wide open stunned. I don't understand why there wasn't an uproar so loud you can still hear the echo in outer space! The switch was pure perfection.
Just an incredible piece of guitar work by two titans of the blues, what I wouldn't give to have been in that audience that night! And the 13 people who thumbed down this video...well, I'm just sad for you.
C'mon... it's flippin' Jimmie Ray & Stevie Ray. How fo you not watch this and notice the switch, follow them back and forth and feel like: "Holy $hit What just happened !?!?!?!"
I had the extreme honor of meeting Jimmie Vaughan about ten or so years ago, he was the coolest guy I met. I remember asking him Mr.Vaughan, can you sign my shirt. I still have the shirt to this day. That day was the coolest moment of my life. I also met Lou Ann Barton that day as well. She was a very nice lady, also had the honor of getting a picture with her. I didnt realize that I had just taken a photo with Miss Lou Ann until my dad told me who it was and I legit cried happy tears.
WKYQ in Paducah Ky. Played southern rock and blues. Country western even some seger eagles and a new cat named mellencamp. Life was good in Crittenden county KY. As a kid. SRV and his brother are Cool.
There is a video out there, when Stevie Ray Vaughan and his Brother Jimmy playing "Pipeline" simultaneously on on one instrument, both brothers, and the back standing cannot even see the instrument, wrapping his arms around his front standing brother. Two incredible talents
I love that you get lead and rytham from one guitar, I'd goto a concert just for this, wish I'd of been able to see stevie but he died when I was 2, my parents said he was absolutely incredible, saw him open for a band they paid(Crosby, Stills, & Nash) to see and left his fan more then theirs. Back again to watch & listen: 03/02/2023 03/08/2023
Back in the old days of MTV actually being a music TV station (channel), they did a full New Year's Eve broadcast of a show from New Orleans of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. It was done on a riverboat. I don't remember the year - it might have been 1987, but I believe that's what this clip is from. I have it somewhere in a box in the garage on an old VHS tape.
That's great! I wish I had the oprtunity to watch him live. Actually everytime I listen to some performances like Live in texas/at El Mocambo that I also had in VHS I wish he was still here kickin' some asses like he always did. Thanks for the comment.
I’m from Austin lived in Phoenix for awhile that’s when Stevie died. hardly anybody there knew who I was talking about. I cried like a little baby girl the day he died
Jimmie is a fuckin master. He plays different speeds, and licks them his brother. His career took a big hit when Stevie died, he was heartbroken and it hurt him. He had left TFT to do the Vaughn Bros and after his death was alone. And I think he's spent a long time remembering Stevie and playing Stevies music, or tributes, and it's made him to many forgettable and untalented. He's neither.
They both had the same large, powerful hands and look of pure concentration; this was maybe the most mind blowing guitar playing I have ever seen. My brain is still trying to take in the wonder I just saw. Brothers who will be together again some day.
it's so touch me so deep. i wish i could do that together with my little brother, you know i have a little bro too. but unfortunately, he like edm music
Tom Bonnell As a mother and a grandmother, I've watched my 2 grown children spend time together and it warmed my soul. I can only imagine how their mother felt.
My uncle's used to play this song very perfusley. They were just as good if not better. Not knocking these boys down by any means, they're just as good to me. Stevie and his brother are by far the two best.. zz top right behind them from that big Texas underground. 💯
I'm sure Jimmie watches this clip and thinks about what he would give to have his arms around his little brother like this again.....
it's so sadness
White Boots and Mamma Says. Family Style album.

Dang Rose! You hit me right in the feels with this comment.
This should be the first thing you see when you walk into the Rocking Roll Hall of Fame.
hell yeah it should be
Absolutely BadAss Correct!!
Priceless!!!!!!!!
"People miss his guitar playing, but is miss my brother".
-jimmie vaughan
Amen
Amen I miss him altogether he was an amazing man
Wow you edited your comment and it’s still misspelled
Love you Jimmie !
RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990), aged 35
You will be remembered as a legend.
Absolutely!
I saw Jimmie about six months ago. Put it on your bucket list that you must see him live. He is a true senior statesman of the blues.
Aye.
man its so frustrating when people dont appreciate jimmie, absolutely love his guitar playing. His work with the thunderbirds, the tones the riffs such heavy in your face blues, I always believed a great guitar player is always at core a great rhythm player first.
Craig Rutter without Jimmie there would be no Stevie!!
Craig Rutter - Stevie appreciated Jimmie. When asked who his influences were, he always included “My big brother, Jimmie”.
I totally agree. There has never been a better example of two similar people being totally different individuals. They both had a lot of the same influences but I'm sure they each had a few different ones as well. People have to start realizing that they are two great and completely different guitarists who just so happen to be brothers.
Imagine you’re an amazing guitarist...
But your brother is SRV...
Definitely underrated, overshadowed is probably a better word.
The Vaughan brothers had rhythm and "groove" in their dna.
Oh how we all wish Stevie would have exited that helicopter with you Jimmie. What a fabulous artist and man he was. His missed all over the world. I can only imagine how much you miss him.
Best brothers in the business. I know Jimmie still hurts. RIP
Such a moment in music history....
Dear Jimmie, all these years later I still feel for you, man. Miss your little brother so much. Bless you for loving him. The two of you are what makes life worth living for so many of us. I still remember where I was when I read the news.
They are so in sync with each other. Masterful playing.
Two Brothers. One Guitar. I remember seeing them do this when they toured together in the 1980's on Pier 84 in NYC. Good shit.
its just called two brothers
Man id give anything to go back in time just to go to one of Stevie’s concerts I would’ve had fun! Really wish he had survived 😭
It's something you never forget no matter how many warm Miller's you had that night ..I was just a young man but it was awesome! The Pier was a great place to be in the Summer and SRV was a must be there show.
I saw this too in Philadelphia
Thunderbirds opened for SRV. I stood right in front of stage for encore!!! My number one concert moment 🎸🎸💙
This audience is sitting there jaws wide open stunned. I don't understand why there wasn't an uproar so loud you can still hear the echo in outer space!

Probably Nickelback or Creed fans!
We lost Stevie 30 years ago today... On my 18th birthday. He will never ever be forgotten.
When they switch frets, that's badass
Necks*
Well, when you switch necks you pretty much HAVE to switch frets!
C'mon... it's flippin' Jimmie Ray & Stevie Ray.
How fo you not watch this and notice the switch, follow them back and forth and feel like: "Holy $hit What just happened !?!?!?!"
The busiest guitar ever...
I absolutely love watch them playing together, especially on a double neck guitar. Real brothers.
I’m not sure how many times I’ve watched this, but it never gets old!

There is a video out there, when Stevie Ray Vaughan and his Brother Jimmy playing "Pipeline" simultaneously on on one instrument, both brothers, and the back standing cannot even see the instrument, wrapping his arms around his front standing brother. Two incredible talents
Will never be done again!!!
Stevie always said he wanted to play as well as his big brother... No pressure, Jimmie.

Amazing show!
Find that tape and find a way to put it on a more durable format!
This is from Mardi Gras ‘87
Goosebumps everytime
That was one of the greatest expositions of guitar playing I have ever seen.
Tons of concentration needed to pull that off .
They made it look like it took nothing at all to do this
@@derickfeigum3872 specially for Jimmie that looks like such an uncomfortable position to play in
Outta this world for sure.Like 2 people from same family singing blood harmonies...aint nuttin much better in the music world.Thnx Jimmie,& Stevie
Awesome Brothers, Miss You SRV!
this is just awesome. We miss you so much SRV :(
They kill with that and THEN bring out Kim Wilson from the T’birds. Would love to have been there.
Jimmie Vaughn is a metronome with soul and groove all in one, and his brother is pretty good too!!!
this just kicks major ass.
I’m from Austin lived in Phoenix for awhile that’s when Stevie died. hardly anybody there knew who I was talking about. I cried like a little baby girl the day he died

This is awesome.Man Stevie was just too good for this world.RIP
For years I've been telling people Jimmie is just as good as Stevie. I show them this and they finally agree, shut up , and enjoy.
Jimmie is a fuckin master. He plays different speeds, and licks them his brother. His career took a big hit when Stevie died, he was heartbroken and it hurt him. Looks like a double neck Robin Guitar..Amazing...

I bet the guitar was tired as hell after that.
dam right R.I.P Stevie Ray Vaughan.
They both had the same large, powerful hands and look of pure concentration; this was maybe the most mind blowing guitar playing I have ever seen. My brain is still trying to take in the wonder I just saw. Brothers who will be together again some day.
I always liked jimmies style twangy and simple srvs more intricate with alot of albert king inspired bends
it's so touch me so deep. i wish i could do that together with my little brother, you know i have a little bro too. but unfortunately, he like edm music

My uncle's used to play this song very perfusley. They were just as good if not better. Not knocking these boys down by any means, they're just as good to me. Stevie and his brother are by far the two best.. zz top right behind them from that big Texas underground. 💯
