The ONLY good thing about this atrocious amiibo rollout was the boosting of all the small artists who make homemade amiibos. I saw SO many links shared on twitter to shops ppl were sharing bc their pre orders were accidentally sold in store or they had app issues
YEP. I ended up doing this and found a truly lovely seller on Etsy who made her own art for every amiibo and everything. She was overwhelmed by literally HUNDREDS of unexpected orders and was so gracious and transparent with her social media updates on fulfilling those orders. And I still got mine in like a week. Homegirl made absolute bank that week.
I actually worked at Target in the electronics department on the day of the release. We didn’t hear anything about this from management, except that they were online only. My store’s stock was bought out by bots/scalpers within minutes. The thing is, they all sold out, but no one ended up ever picking them up. So like a week after the release we just had about fifty packs sitting in the back with no spot on the floor, and unable to be purchased online even after updating our inventory. My lead had told us that we could sell them if someone came back and specifically asked if we had any. Eventually they start collecting dust in the back so we flex a spot for them, and they were sitting there for WEEKS. A bunch of my coworkers and I played, so we all bought some for ourselves, but other than that most people thought we either didn’t have them, or lost interest. The majority of the people that ended up buying them said they were looking for something else and were surprised that we even still had them.
Unfortunately that story sounds so common i swear that happens to a lot of stuff these days ive noticed its quite common with amiibo then a few months later there everywere lol
Former Target Electronics vet of 7 years here, 2021 being my last. Only a few on my team in Electronics knew of the amiibo release unless they actually played the games/kept up with AC as a whole. Few other employees were working that day and bummed they couldnt order online when it went live. I was off and managed to get my order in, only to hear that they had just handed them out like described in the video. Target corp. hardly ever told depts. about big releases unless it was a hot clothing/designer brand. At my store, despite Electronics making the most $$$ in a work day, we were often disregarded when it came to one of us speaking up about big releases and be ready for X or Y crowds, etc.
I was so desperate for them I bought packs from Japan on Ebay, it was scalpers probably but I paid $17 for 3 packs and they're definitely authentic so I don't feel like I got ripped off. Got a US pack from Target months later
Thankfully I never got interested in the Sanrio x Animal Crossing partnership I heard about it but I never was interested since it wasn't for me. I also got animal crossing as a gift with a switch bundle along with Smash and Mario Party. I mean I never really got interested in acnh but I mean three free games when you get your switch is a better starter than nothing if that bundle didn't exist I wouldn't buy acnh.
i really feel like they should’ve used their respective animals for their design, tbh. i don’t know if that’s a popular opinion or not, and inclusion is important, but like…i kinda hate everyone’s design except marty and chai. my little sister let me have two of her cards when she got it this passing christmas. i really wish that they used a bunny for my melody, a cat for HK, a dog for pompompurin, another bunny or perhaps even a dog for cinnamaroll, a frog for kerropi and- well, i quite like étoile’s design (not personally but just in general). the way they look at the moment just doesn’t really…look appealing.
Idk if I might be the only person that actually love their design. I find them all pretty cute and cool. They're just Sanrio fanboys and girls. I wasn't sure about them at first but after having them on my island in New Leaf I grew to love them. I feel like it would have been way too cliche if they just went with their species. And also how would they have done the twin stars with Étoile? I don't think it would have worked well if they were versions of themselves as fans would be bashing AC on Twitter for being lazy.

i really hope nintendo learns from this release. New Horizons had a lot going for it, but I think even after the 2.0 update it's missing the charm of older games. The design elements are wonderful if you like designing games, but the life simulation aspect is very important as well. having a bit more story and structure would have really elevated new horizons to the next level.
It's not that they don't know what's going to happen, the problem is they don't *care*. Look what has happened with just about every console since the Wii debacle. Limited supply, poorly organized preorders, shop exclusivity for certain things, day-one hardware glitches (I'm looking at you, joycon drift). The fact these things continue to happen and Nintendo refuses to address them just shows that they only care when it affects their bottom line...and it never does.

I feel like im the minority opinion here with ya. it just is NOT the same. design elements, yes super improvement and way better. however almost every other aspect (aside from graphics and stuff ofc) is lacking. there's so much that is missing that makes me love the older games so much more. I know the newer fans are probably the greater majority opinion now, but I've been a fan since I was 6 yrs old and I'll die on the hill that this game is lacking its charm. do I still play ? of course, I like the game, but it just isn't the same :/
I remember playing the Sanrio game like animal crossing but it had more quest elements to it. I got stuck a lot when I played games as a kid and would just give up so I don’t think I even got very far. But I wish they had those kind of elements in Animal Crossing NH
I actually bought some “fake” Sanrio amiibo cards on Etsy so I didn’t have to deal with the target nonsense and everything was all good. I didn’t get them the day they came out but I got them that week.
Same here!! I bought amiibo chips off of Etsy, and unfortunately I can’t remember who I bought them from but they were cheap, super cute, and worked just like the amiibo cards would. I recommend
I would also say the Sanrio cards are not in demand anymore because they are not as random as the other version ones. You only have to buy one pack while series 5 you have to buy multiple.

I only have some S1 cards, and I think I remember seeing S2 and S3 in stores, but it was at a time when I started to lose interest in New Leaf as I was starting university and didn't have time for it.
Honestly I think it's because of the fake cards, why buy them authentic when you can get them way cheaper and they'll work the exact same. It's a moral choice, but I like to think it makes me and Nintendo even after all they've put me through the last 15+ years 💀

The one simple feature I love about pocket camp that I wish new horizons had is the villagers USE objects, and not just sometimes / sporadically but all the time. I was really expecting that to happen in new horizons and it doesn’t really. Why give us the ability to decorate the entire area with all these cool items but the villagers don’t recognize or use any of the objects… sad
Exactly I feel like it would give pple motivation to make their decor areas more accessible to villagers instead of cramming a bunch of stuff together. Definitely create a little more challenge to have a nicely decorated area in limited space that can also be navigated by villagers 🥲
EXACTLY. This needs to be the innovation that the core series really stresses next, in my opinion. Now the city building stuff in happy home designer and the analogous content in the new Horizons DLC are a good step in the right direction though. YOu design a hospital and the villagers will actually be a doctor/nurse/patient and such. But they need to make SO many items able to be interacted with across the game in general. Take for instance the cotton candy machine you can get. Why doesn't a random villager staff that thing? They could give the villager a little hat/uniform and make it so that they will sell you (and other villagers) cotton candy?
Oh man I pressed “purchase” AT THE MOMENT THEY WERE RELEASED, and by then the only ones left were at locations 45 minutes from my house. My dad was so kind to pick it up for me, but I only got my hands on one pack when I wanted two so my older sister could have her own pack
Not as ridiculous as the sims 4's new wedding pack that makes the sims sit at weddings rather than wondering around like they normally do and all the sim players going crazy and hyped up for it to drop, and it didn't even work, they still wonder around acting lost and goofy LOL.
I had no idea about the struggles getting the Sanrio amiibo cards in the US in 2021 - here in NZ they were available at quite a few different stores so were easy to pre order. They did eventually sell out but they restocked them a couple of times throughout the year and more are coming next month. Very different experience!!

I was literally JUST at a target and there was a whole bunch of them, like two hanging hooks full of these cards. Obviously most people who wanted them bought them through etsy sellers by now, but seeing all the upset people who saw all the bots and scalping made me pretty disappointed in the rollout of these cards.
I remember when this dropped, I managed to get one pack and I almost cried. Twitter and Reddit were a mess, packs were going up on eBay for horrible prices. I didn’t open the package for a week because It felt wrong after all the stress to just rip it open.
Honestly, when the amiibo cards didn’t get announced in my country and the very few sellers in Europe were already sold out for preorder…I just bought cheap copies. They work perfectly, weren’t a hassle to get and if Nintendo doesn’t want my money, that’s their issue 🤷🏼♀️ and I can see more people doing the same thing, bc why not?
My friend just bought me them off an Etsy person online. But seeing them now in target so casually is just sad. I managed to get my friend the official cards when I found em in target while just searching for a Christmas present. I felt so salty, but also very happy that they were out. After all that drama and then they're just available in person with almost nothing really saying it. Feels like a slap in the face. But hey, I got my cards, my friend got their cards, I was terrified at the time that I'd never get them, but in the end, I got em and my friend got em and that's fine. I still see a good few of them every time I go to target. Also this ain't about anything, but I wish we got a Kuromi villager too to go along with the My Melody furniture and Chelsea. I don't know much about Sanrio, but Kuromi has always been my absolute favorite. This is just a tangent tho 😂😅
fun fact- i used to work for target in the back as a trainer in the fulfillment department (the department that does the online orders or pick up orders and shops around the store) we didnt have access to any of the cards that came in at all! we werent even allowed to take any for ourselves unless they were on the floor for a minimum of 15 minutes. it was actually a 3rd party company who came and stocked the cards. i wasnt there for the amiibo cards but crazy story during the peak of covid we had 20 people who randomly started coming in weekly and stood in the back waiting for the lady to bring out and stock all of them because they all wanted these certain baseball cards that could be worth some good money, she would hand them out from the box because there was no point in hanging them up when they were going to get taken right away, after 2 weeks, more and more people were coming to the point 30+ people were standing there and not maintaining a distance, she had to switch the day she came every week and the time she came because of it (used to be the same day and time) and they would rage because some of them would stand there for 8+ hours and would not leave. security had to escort her the whole time when she did come out eventually and she started getting stalked (mind you this target is in a small town its not a high traffic target) and she had to change her entire route every time because they would tag team and they would text & tell each other when to go to the other store she would head to next and what time she would be showing up based on when she left!!!! so creepy! it got so bad that we had to start doing pick up only for the cards due to the high demand and she ended up quitting because they would still follow her car all day and felt unsafe, it was so crazy! so that might explain why the person was handing the cards out like that! theres so much tea behind the scenes you would not expect 😭
My experience with the sanrio amiibos was... They were not available anywhere in my country (I live in Europe). I knew they were available in Amazon UK but I didn't want to pay for shipping. So I waited a few months until December because I have a friend that lives there and was coming home for Christmas (she had free delivery so it was easier for her to order them and deliver them to me in person). Great, perfect right? Christmas comes I have my amiibos, I'm a happy girl. Except I walk into a store the week after Christmas and there they are... The sanrio amiibos. Lots of them. Cheaper even. It was... A very bitter feeling. But well at least I have them now, no more buying for Nookazon sellers with absurd prices.
Omg yes. I love and hate nookazon so much. Some people on there are sweet and generous but most of them are total scammers. I offer people like 4 different items for their one singular item, and they’ll still decline :/ sigh

This was INSANE. My mom had to drive 40 minutes just to get her hands on a pack. She got them as a surprise for me for Easter, I started crying when I opened them since I was so happy 😂

There was a lot of exposing socials without consent and mocking people's reactions to the banning or removal of dream addresses too. Being an extremely avid New Leaf stan I must add that I don’t think most of us *waited* for four years for an update, or any update at all. New Leaf was a FINISHED game on release and in my eyes, just perfect. There was already so much content that the game didn’t need monthly updates, everything was already there, waiting for the months to roll by for everyone to enjoy. It wasn’t like the ACNH “omg an update that introduces DIVING WHAAAT” “OMG an update with the festivale/coffee shop/etc”!!! NL had all these things on release and it’s something that makes me so intensely bitter about New Horizons. When the NL Hello Amiibo update dropped, I hadn’t expected anything at all, but my god they added so much content to an already packed and fantastic game. I still remember tuning into the announcement video for the NL update all these years ago and feeling so happy and bewildered. I wish games were still finished on release, in my eyes NH still lacks content and the heart that NL had.
When the sanrio amiibo’s were first released in stores, I could not get my hands on them and was so upset. And I refused to pay so much for a pack off of ebay. But a few months ago I was just walking around target and there were like 10 packs just sitting there in the technology section and I was shocked. I had given up trying to obtain them since they were reselling for so much but was very happy was i was finally able to get them for just $6 :)
I feel very lucky living in Australia after viewing this. I don't think we had any of this chaos with the cards but we also had it in more stores which sorta explains it
thats my biggest issue with the new amiibo cards for series 5. i am an avid collector of the cards. i have all cards from series 1-4, most of the cards from the RV series and the sanrio cards. however, the fact that im still struggling to get the series 5 cards without going to scalpers is so annoying. i hate that nintendo limits these cards. there's no reason for it. it will not break their bank to make more.
When S5 cards were released I had great luck every morning around 6am EST on the Target app purchasing 4 S5 card packs. They had a limit and it would say "ships with $30 purchase only". You could add a preorder for a movie not out yet to complete this order, then as the cards were shipped micromanage the order to remove the preordered movie (therefore the cards shipped free). Anyhow I have TONs of extra (non-SP cards). I'd sell at cost + shipping if you are interested. I have so many dupes it's not even funny.
i went to my target like 2 days ago and there were two hangers full of the series 5 and grabbed 2 packs😳 i suggest maybe checking your local target around this time? i think they might also be offering them online right now

that day was so atrocious! i saw so many people who bought the cards online and when they went to pick them up a worker had already sold their pack to someone in the store so they weren't able to even get them and were refunded!
I remember working that day and telling my boss it was supposed to be online pickup only, and he didn’t care/didn’t believe me and started to sell them in person so everyone who ordered them online didn’t get them 😂
They make the amiibo cards so hard to access, I feel like it’s even harder in Canada so honestly I feel zero ways about buying fake ones from aliexpress. I was able to get the whole series 5 for $27
This. S5 was bad. I pre-ordered 1 pack from Bestbuy and then they raised it to 3 like a day later. I was so pissed cuz I couldn't add to my pre-order after paying. I went to 3 different Game Stops day of and got another 6 packs. My uncle also bought 2 packs out where he was, bless him honestly I only briefly talked about it and he remembered. A total of 9 packs I got so damn lucky that I got all the villagers but it was so stressful trying the out speed scalpers. So honestly good call save the stress and money.
The Pocket Camp update was nice! 1- To get the villagers, you had to get their maps (it’s free and how you get all other villagers in the game.) The Sanrio map island was available for like 2 months, totally easy to get all six 2- You can send gifts to players on your friend list, and there were Sanrio themed gifts, which had a hand fan with a random Sanrio Character inside that you or villagers could hold 3- All players got a Sanrio Clock item 4- There were two series of outfits you could buy with leaf tickets, the dresses you showed in the video were one of them 5- leveling up friendship with the villagers gives you the shirt they wear 6- Each Sanrio character had a fortune cookie series, and there was a Sanrio overall cookie, so Seven different fortune cookies available, these are the blind bags that give you themed furniture. Throughout the whole campaign, you could get a free cookie from each line, or spend leaf tickets to buy more. 7- you didn’t need the cards, everyone could participate - The only thing I don’t like is the fortune cookies bc if you want specifically the Cinnaroll chair it’s down to luck if you get it in the cookie you got. I like the dress up aspect more than decorating, so it didn’t bother me much, but if you really wanted to Sanrio-up your campsite that would’ve been annoying. I only got enough Sanrio stuff from my free cookies to do a floor of my van, but it’s v cute. 6/7 ain’t bad imo
It’s not just the Sanrio Amiibos, it’s also the 2.0 amiibo cards. It’s been over 4 months and they are STILL out of stock at every store I can find… Nintendo can do better

I remember that day I was nervous cuz I wanted to get them so badly (I’m obsessed with Sanrio stuff lol) but had to go to work. When I got on my break, I rushed to my phone and felt my stomach drop when it said they were no longer available, then opened Twitter and saw posts about it. I was so upset and angry about the scalpers tbh. I also had texted my friend from HS that keep in touch with if they had any left since she works at Target. She was kind enough to check for me but also promised me to let me know first when they got more. I think it took about a month or two when she told me they restocked. I had given up by then and was super busy with life in general but thanked her for letting me know. Then a few weeks before Christmas, my 10 yr old baby brother would tell me he had a surprise that he knew I was going to love. Christmas day comes and he gives me his present to me, and behold! It was the Sanrio Amiibo cards and I was super happy cuz he made my day. He told me when he went with our parents there, he saw them and grabbed it. I was thanking him so much lol. We’re pretty close & I also let him use the Tobey card cuz I remember him wanting some of the items it contains. 😊🌸 Also now that you mentioned about the amount of Sanrio Amiibo packs at Target being there,it makes more sense now why my baby brother was able to find them easily that day lol. Either way, I like how thoughtful he was to get them for me for Christmas ☺️

So when I went to pick up my cards I had a friend ask me about how my target was selling the packs and so I went back to the game section and I saw an employee carrying three small boxes out, this dude was like immediately overtaken by the line of ppl waiting. This one lady managed to grab a whole box while others tore the other boxes open. It was like a horror movie lol a few ppl didn't even get some and those who attacked the employee were told to leave without the cards. Also the lady legit scanned only one pack of amiibo cards as the whole box and paid like 6 bucks for it. I had over heard her talking on the phone about it, she was outside the store 🙃 but yea it was utter choas and don't get me started on those series ones 😂😂😂
I remember when the sanrio amiibo cards had been announced, I was looking everywhere to see where I would be able to buy them once they released and told my mum about it but I was gutted when I saw they were only available at Target because I live in the UK. Fast forward to Christmas 2021 I opened up a pack of sanrio amiibo cards in my present The cards were a lot smaller and in a plastic box so I’m guessing she maybe ordered some fake ones, but they still worked so it doesn’t matter lol
I WORK at Target and my store never even got them. I ended up spending 17$ to get them from a scalper. I've been collecting the Amiibo cards since they first came out. I hope Nintendo does a re-release of all of the series because the resellers and scalpers are BAD. It's really depressing since the cards brought me so much joy and I loved inviting every villager I had a card of to see them in NL.

I went straight to Ebay on release day and bought beautiful knockoffs that were just as pretty and very durable for only $10. And I'm glad I did too. My local Target got scalped because the employees didn't know there was a limit.
Yeah, when I was online, ready to place my order, I got an out of stock notification immediately, so I got out of bed, put some pants on, and went to target. Walked back to the gaming section and found full pegs of the Sanrio Amiibo cards. I saltily bought a pack for myself and a friend in store. Now two years later the Sanrio packs are the only ones you can find, they’re serious peg warmers.
the second i learned this would be a limited release i just decided to buy a knock off pack from an artist that was really great quality and worked perfectly fine. i also gifted a ton of sanrio stuff to people who visited my island because i wanted more people to access the content. it’s one thing to have content behind a paywall but it’s another thing entirely to deliberately make it harder on consumers by creating a fake deficit of products.
I was so disappointed by the whole fiasco that it ultimately killed my interest in the game. Up to that point, I played ACNH almost everyday since released. But I was so salty about not getting my hands on the Sanrio cards that I stopped playing until the November update lol
I was SO frustrated to see they were only available at target, like how difficult is it to imagine that there are people playing OUTSIDE of the US 🙄 Luckily we got to make some for ourselves

I remember when they came out- my friend had the same idea to frantically get into Target to get the cards that very March morning. I suspected a frensy and had work that day, so I didn't come with her. She sent me a picture of the utter madness going down there, and I realized I probably should just get them off a reseller on eBay (as horrible as it sounds, I got them a few months after the chaos). The furniture and villagers (Marty is my son now) were awesome, Nintendo knew their target audience and delivered on that aspect; but they clearly screwed up with the whole Target fiasco lol

I live in Italy, and I got the beloved sanrio cards last week, finally. They were continuously out of order or selling for more than 30-40 euros, and it just bummed me out, seeing everyone enjoying the sanrio content. All I could was watch from afar :,) but I'm very happy I finally got them now ^^ Just, not sure why they decided to restock them at targets only. I even tried to order from Italy, but target clearly doesn't sell stuff outside of America ahah
7:37 I'm almost positive it was a re-release. I played pocket camp in 2019/2020 and I remember Etoile and all of her cool items in the game. I don't remember chai (or any of the other ones) even though I think she's super cute, and I feel like I would have remembered her. So maybe they just added the other characters, even though Etoile was already in the game.
Also, to clarify, Etoile wasn't an actual villager back then. You may have been able to get her amibo to have her at your campsite,, but I'm not sure. You could only get her items from her fortune cookies. Her fortune cookies worked the same as all the others, you didn't have to pay for them/have an amibo to get them or anything.
I remember when they were announced. And I immediately got them. When I was done with them gave it to my best friend as a birthday gift. Lol. I reordered it again today. It was easier to get them in Canada. Bestbuy, GameStop and Amazon had them. But they sold out fast.
Back in New Leaf days I bought the Sanrio collection from a Etsy store as stickers with the amiibo codes on them. Really paid off when the AC world collapsed during the ACNH Sanrio release.
I absolutely love Sanrio and Animal Crossing, so I was really excited when they made the cards. But I don't think they handled the release of this at all. I mean, my Target still has the cards locked up because of this (they weren't originally, I was lucky to find them there a month or so after launch) and I think that Nintendo didn't anticipate that having them only be sold at one store and online (originally, that definitely changed, like I mentioned) would have really bad consequences. I was upset when the Target app glitch on me. My store decided to hand them out. So online orders got screwed. Thankfully an Etsy seller made her own but I unfortunately can’t get the actual AC pack. 😅
i already bought the sanrio cards during the new leaf days, étoile was love at first sight, shes been my favourite ever since, and i even cosplay her and marty !! basically, the sanrios are my favourite bunch of villagers, and to say i was devastated when i found out they werent in the game at first would be a MASSIVE understatement. i mourned the loss of my favourite villagers, even had a mini graveyard on my island dedicated to them. but them getting added to the game was HUGE for me! i got them earlier than almost everyone else since i already had the cards, and i did cry a little when i finally got to invite étoile to my island (/srs). im pissed off about the scalpers, sure, but i might have bought my cards from someone who makes them across the state and i might have been urging people to do the same when i found out about the scalpers (which i knew would happen to begin with).
The sad thing is, this problem with Nintendo isn't even new. Anyone who was around for the Amiibo craze in the first few years of Amiibo can remember the constant understocking and scalping online even back then. And this was almost ten years ago.
Yes, I still haven't been able to find a Meta Knight amiibo under $60. He's one of my favourite characters, and I can't find Kirby or SSB series versions for anything decent. I refuse to pay over $30 CAD for one... And this is coming from someone who already has over 70 figures from SSB, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon combined. I don't even dare look for the Target exclusive Rosalina. Target was just leaving Canada at that point, so they were getting rid of everything (yay for $10 3DS games), and they still are up for around $60-$100 on ebay.
@@jlbeeen I remember being so disappointed I couldn't get Rosalina. :( I just finally got a Villager amiibo last year for a (I guess) decent price after years of it being $100+ from scalpers online. I don't understand why restocking Amiibo just seems impossible for Nintendo to do.
there are so many beautiful sanrio furniture pieces from pocket camp i cannot believe they didn’t include them in new horizons… but that really goes for all furniture there are so many missing pieces and things from the og game and ugh im getting worked up about new horizons again lmao
I couldn’t grab them when they first came out, and I was so upset. When they restocked I finally got a (legit) set, but I think what Target wasn’t considering is that for these packs... there’s no variation. They stocked them during the rerelease like regular amiibo card packs, but there’s no need to buy more than one. So everyone got their one pack and moved on to the packs with the regular villagers in them, cause those really are pure luck.
I’m a simmer and only started to play AC with NH in December, the way you talk about Sanrio & NH is so similar to how simmer’s talk about sims 4 and their packs it just made me chuckle
Be grateful you even have targets. I live in Norway and we have no Targets. So I haven't been able to get my hands on a sanrio pack yet ╥﹏╥ I could buy them for resellers, but they're way too expensive.
I had the HARDEST time finding these amiibo cards. A few months later, this girl applied at my job and found out I like AC. She just handed them to me. Wherever you are, thanks Claire!
I didn’t care about these cards when they got their Target release. But a couple of months ago I found two packs at my favorite thrift store for 25 cents a piece and I opened one and the other one will remain sealed. I did play ACNH for a couple of months during 2020 but I felt very overwhelmed by all the daily chores and how to go about designing and decorating my island that I stopped playing in the summer of 2020.
I'm so pissed every time I see these card packs in store. There's an over abundance now but a scarcity of the other packs, why? Edit: I found out why. They're in the stock room hidden away so that ppl won't steal them or buy more than 2.
My manger bought the last 6 pack before me and then told me he would sell them for scalping price….. he told me he would sell me one for that price and I’m like nahh…
My Target has tons of these. I grabbed one pack on a lark and was like, "yep, these characters have the same boring dialog as everyone else." At least you could catalog their respective Sanrio character collections when you called them to visit. I had no idea these were so sought after and rife with controversy 🤣

I was able to get the Sanrio cards on release day by showing up at 8am at Target.. however, now i can't get any of the new AC Series 6 cards. It is also disappointing and disgusting to see that GameStop now sells single cards for $25 a piece with no objection from Nintendo. I think Nintendo has let everyone down. They easily could have distributed these cards through all their partnerships.
The funniest thing is the only way I knew that there was a restock of the cards is because I started seeing them pop up on reselling sites again for 7x the price 😂

The Sanrio card struggle was def. real.... and goofy. I was still being very safe and not going into stores, so I was totally into the order pick up, but it didn't matter. Impossible to get, twas dirty. BUT now they lay around my Target with out a care in the world. Oh well, just part of pop culture collecting culture...
i missed this whole portion of the game because i live in Canada. And in my province we have no Targets, so id have to order them off the internet and at the time they were selling for 10x more than what they were sold at American Targets 😂
I played pocket camp for a couple years and the way you would get the Sanrio items was through fortune cookies and gifts. There were a few ways to get fortune cookies, and gifts had to be sent to you from a friend. Pocket camp had so much furniture that isn’t available in NH that I miss. Like the strawberry set 😍 at least they added a bunch of the furniture with the update, but not all of it
The weird thing is that this scarcity problem with amiibo has almost never existed in Australia. I think the only time we ever have issues is when we just don't get the amiibo in the first place, but usually, if you want an amiibo at release, it's not hard to get if you just preorder it... Same goes for the amiibo cards, where there's never such a problem with supply that you can't get something through preorder. It's not like the USA where it'll sell out before preorders end usually.

The ONLY good thing about this atrocious amiibo rollout was the boosting of all the small artists who make homemade amiibos. I saw SO many links shared on twitter to shops ppl were sharing bc their pre orders were accidentally sold in store or they had app issues

YEP. I ended up doing this and found a truly lovely seller on Etsy who made her own art for every amiibo and everything. She was overwhelmed by literally HUNDREDS of unexpected orders and was so gracious and transparent with her social media updates on fulfilling those orders. And I still got mine in like a week. Homegirl made absolute bank that week.
I actually worked at Target in the electronics department on the day of the release. We didn’t hear anything about this from management, except that they were online only. My store’s stock was bought out by bots/scalpers within minutes. The thing is, they all sold out, but no one ended up ever picking them up. So like a week after the release we just had about fifty packs sitting in the back with no spot on the floor, and unable to be purchased online even after updating our inventory. My lead had told us that we could sell them if someone came back and specifically asked if we had any. Eventually they start collecting dust in the back so we flex a spot for them, and they were sitting there for WEEKS. A bunch of my coworkers and I played, so we all bought some for ourselves, but other than that most people thought we either didn’t have them, or lost interest. The majority of the people that ended up buying them said they were looking for something else and were surprised that we even still had them.
Unfortunately that story sounds so common i swear that happens to a lot of stuff these days ive noticed its quite common with amiibo then a few months later there everywere lol
Former Target Electronics vet of 7 years here, 2021 being my last. Only a few on my team in Electronics knew of the amiibo release unless they actually played the games/kept up with AC as a whole. Few other employees were working that day and bummed they couldnt order online when it went live. I was off and managed to get my order in, only to hear that they had just handed them out like described in the video. Target corp. hardly ever told depts. about big releases unless it was a hot clothing/designer brand. At my store, despite Electronics making the most $$$ in a work day, we were often disregarded when it came to one of us speaking up about big releases and be ready for X or Y crowds, etc.
I was so desperate for them I bought packs from Japan on Ebay, it was scalpers probably but I paid $17 for 3 packs and they're definitely authentic so I don't feel like I got ripped off. Got a US pack from Target months later
for us some scalper returned a bunch of them and ever since then they’re always there
Thankfully I never got interested in the Sanrio x Animal Crossing partnership I heard about it but I never was interested since it wasn't for me. I also got animal crossing as a gift with a switch bundle along with Smash and Mario Party.
I mean I never really got interested in acnh but I mean three free games when you get your switch is a better starter than nothing if that bundle didn't exist I wouldn't buy acnh.
i really feel like they should’ve used their respective animals for their design, tbh. i don’t know if that’s a popular opinion or not, and inclusion is important, but like…i kinda hate everyone’s design except marty and chai. my little sister let me have two of her cards when she got it this passing christmas.
i really wish that they used a bunny for my melody, a cat for HK, a dog for pompompurin, another bunny or perhaps even a dog for cinnamaroll, a frog for kerropi and- well, i quite like étoile’s design (not personally but just in general).

Idk if I might be the only person that actually love their design. I find them all pretty cute and cool. They're just Sanrio fanboys and girls. I wasn't sure about them at first but after having them on my island in New Leaf I grew to love them. I feel like it would have been way too cliche if they just went with their species. And also how would they have done the twin stars with Étoile? I don't think it would have worked well if they were versions of themselves as fans would be bashing AC on Twitter for being lazy.

i really hope nintendo learns from this release. New Horizons had a lot going for it, but I think even after the 2.0 update it's missing the charm of older games. The design elements are wonderful if you like designing games, but the life simulation aspect is very important as well. having a bit more story and structure would have really elevated new horizons to the next level.
It's not that they don't know what's going to happen, the problem is they don't *care*. Look what has happened with just about every console since the Wii debacle. Limited supply, poorly organized preorders, shop exclusivity for certain things, day-one hardware glitches (I'm looking at you, joycon drift). The fact these things continue to happen and Nintendo refuses to address them just shows that they only care when it affects their bottom line...and it never does.

I feel like im the minority opinion here with ya. it just is NOT the same. design elements, yes super improvement and way better. however almost every other aspect (aside from graphics and stuff ofc) is lacking. there's so much that is missing that makes me love the older games so much more. I know the newer fans are probably the greater majority opinion now, but I've been a fan since I was 6 yrs old and I'll die on the hill that this game is lacking its charm. do I still play ? of course, I like the game, but it just isn't the same :/

I remember playing the Sanrio game like animal crossing but it had more quest elements to it. I got stuck a lot when I played games as a kid and would just give up so I don’t think I even got very far. But I wish they had those kind of elements in Animal Crossing NH

I would also say the Sanrio cards are not in demand anymore because they are not as random as the other version ones. You only have to buy one pack while series 5 you have to buy multiple.

I only have some S1 cards, and I think I remember seeing S2 and S3 in stores, but it was at a time when I started to lose interest in New Leaf as I was starting university and didn't have time for it.
Honestly I think it's because of the fake cards, why buy them authentic when you can get them way cheaper and they'll work the exact same.

The one simple feature I love about pocket camp that I wish new horizons had is the villagers USE objects, and not just sometimes / sporadically but all the time. I was really expecting that to happen in new horizons and it doesn’t really. Why give us the ability to decorate the entire area with all these cool items but the villagers don’t recognize or use any of the objects… sad
Exactly I feel like it would give pple motivation to make their decor areas more accessible to villagers instead of cramming a bunch of stuff together. Definitely create a little more challenge to have a nicely decorated area in limited space that can also be navigated by villagers 🥲

EXACTLY. This needs to be the innovation that the core series really stresses next, in my opinion.
Now the city building stuff in happy home designer and the analogous content in the new Horizons DLC are a good step in the right direction though. YOu design a hospital and the villagers will actually be a doctor/nurse/patient and such. But they need to make SO many items able to be interacted with across the game in general.
Take for instance the cotton candy machine you can get. Why doesn't a random villager staff that thing? They could give the villager a little hat/uniform and make it so that they will sell you (and other villagers) cotton candy?

I had no idea about the struggles getting the Sanrio amiibo cards in the US in 2021 - here in NZ they were available at quite a few different stores so were easy to pre order. They did eventually sell out but they restocked them a couple of times throughout the year and more are coming next month. Very different experience!!

I was literally JUST at a target and there was a whole bunch of them, like two hanging hooks full of these cards. Obviously most people who wanted them bought them through etsy sellers by now, but seeing all the upset people who saw all the bots and scalping made me pretty disappointed in the rollout of these cards.
I remember when this dropped, I managed to get one pack and I almost cried. Twitter and Reddit were a mess, packs were going up on eBay for horrible prices. I didn’t open the package for a week because It felt wrong after all the stress to just rip it open.

My friend just bought me them off an Etsy person online. But seeing them now in target so casually is just sad. I managed to get my friend the official cards when I found em in target while just searching for a Christmas present. I felt so salty, but also very happy that they were out. After all that drama and then they're just available in person with almost nothing really saying it. Feels like a slap in the face. But hey, I got my cards, my friend got their cards, I was terrified at the time that I'd never get them, but in the end, I got em and my friend got em and that's fine. I still see a good few of them every time I go to target.
Also this ain't about anything, but I wish we got a Kuromi villager too to go along with the My Melody furniture and Chelsea. I don't know much about Sanrio, but Kuromi has always been my absolute favorite. This is just a tangent tho 😂😅

fun fact- i used to work for target in the back as a trainer in the fulfillment department (the department that does the online orders or pick up orders and shops around the store) we didnt have access to any of the cards that came in at all! we werent even allowed to take any for ourselves unless they were on the floor for a minimum of 15 minutes. it was actually a 3rd party company who came and stocked the cards. i wasnt there for the amiibo cards but crazy story during the peak of covid we had 20 people who randomly started coming in weekly and stood in the back waiting for the lady to bring out and stock all of them because they all wanted these certain baseball cards that could be worth some good money, she would hand them out from the box because there was no point in hanging them up when they were going to get taken right away, after 2 weeks, more and more people were coming to the point 30+ people were standing there and not maintaining a distance, she had to switch the day she came every week and the time she came because of it (used to be the same day and time) and they would rage because some of them would stand there for 8+ hours and would not leave. security had to escort her the whole time when she did come out eventually and she started getting stalked (mind you this target is in a small town its not a high traffic target) and she had to change her entire route every time because they would tag team and they would text & tell each other when to go to the other store she would head to next and what time she would be showing up based on when she left!!!! so creepy! it got so bad that we had to start doing pick up only for the cards due to the high demand and she ended up quitting because they would still follow her car all day and felt unsafe, it was so crazy! so that might explain why the person was handing the cards out like that! theres so much tea behind the scenes you would not expect 😭
My experience with the sanrio amiibos was... They were not available anywhere in my country (I live in Europe). I knew they were available in Amazon UK but I didn't want to pay for shipping. So I waited a few months until December because I have a friend that lives there and was coming home for Christmas (she had free delivery so it was easier for her to order them and deliver them to me in person). Great, perfect right? Christmas comes I have my amiibos, I'm a happy girl. Except I walk into a store the week after Christmas and there they are... The sanrio amiibos. Lots of them. Cheaper even. It was... A very bitter feeling. But well at least I have them now, no more buying for Nookazon sellers with absurd prices.
Omg yes. I love and hate nookazon so much. Some people on there are sweet and generous but most of them are total scammers. I offer people like 4 different items for their one singular item, and they’ll still decline :/ sigh

Being an extremely avid New Leaf stan I must add that I don’t think most of us *waited* for four years for an update, or any update at all. New Leaf was a FINISHED game on release and in my eyes, just perfect. There was already so much content that the game didn’t need monthly updates, everything was already there, waiting for the months to roll by for everyone to enjoy. It wasn’t like the ACNH “omg an update that introduces DIVING WHAAAT” “OMG an update with the festivale/coffee shop/etc”!!! NL had all these things on release and it’s something that makes me so intensely bitter about New Horizons. When the NL Hello Amiibo update dropped, I hadn’t expected anything at all, but my god they added so much content to an already packed and fantastic game. I still remember tuning into the announcement video for the NL update all these years ago and feeling so happy and bewildered. I wish games were still finished on release, in my eyes NH still lacks content and the heart that NL had.

But a few months ago I was just walking around target and there were like 10 packs just sitting there in the technology section and I was shocked. I had given up trying to obtain them since they were reselling for so much but was very happy was i was finally able to get them for just $6 :)

thats my biggest issue with the new amiibo cards for series 5. i am an avid collector of the cards. i have all cards from series 1-4, most of the cards from the RV series and the sanrio cards. however, the fact that im still struggling to get the series 5 cards without going to scalpers is so annoying. i hate that nintendo limits these cards. there's no reason for it. it will not break their bank to make more.
When S5 cards were released I had great luck every morning around 6am EST on the Target app purchasing 4 S5 card packs. They had a limit and it would say "ships with $30 purchase only". You could add a preorder for a movie not out yet to complete this order, then as the cards were shipped micromanage the order to remove the preordered movie (therefore the cards shipped free). Anyhow I have TONs of extra (non-SP cards). I'd sell at cost + shipping if you are interested. I have so many dupes it's not even funny.
i went to my target like 2 days ago and there were two hangers full of the series 5 and grabbed 2 packs😳 i suggest maybe checking your local target around this time? i think they might also be offering them online right now

that day was so atrocious! i saw so many people who bought the cards online and when they went to pick them up a worker had already sold their pack to someone in the store so they weren't able to even get them and were refunded!
I remember working that day and telling my boss it was supposed to be online pickup only, and he didn’t care/didn’t believe me and started to sell them in person so everyone who ordered them online didn’t get them 😂
They make the amiibo cards so hard to access, I feel like it’s even harder in Canada so honestly I feel zero ways about buying fake ones from aliexpress. I was able to get the whole series 5 for $27
This. S5 was bad. I pre-ordered 1 pack from Bestbuy and then they raised it to 3 like a day later. I was so pissed cuz I couldn't add to my pre-order after paying. I went to 3 different Game Stops day of and got another 6 packs. My uncle also bought 2 packs out where he was, bless him honestly I only briefly talked about it and he remembered. A total of 9 packs I got so damn lucky that I got all the villagers but it was so stressful trying the out speed scalpers.
So honestly good call save the stress and money.

The Pocket Camp update was nice!
1- To get the villagers, you had to get their maps (it’s free and how you get all other villagers in the game.) The Sanrio map island was available for like 2 months, totally easy to get all six
2- You can send gifts to players on your friend list, and there were Sanrio themed gifts, which had a hand fan with a random Sanrio Character inside that you or villagers could hold
3- All players got a Sanrio Clock item
4- There were two series of outfits you could buy with leaf tickets, the dresses you showed in the video were one of them
5- leveling up friendship with the villagers gives you the shirt they wear
6- Each Sanrio character had a fortune cookie series, and there was a Sanrio overall cookie, so Seven different fortune cookies available, these are the blind bags that give you themed furniture. Throughout the whole campaign, you could get a free cookie from each line, or spend leaf tickets to buy more.
7- you didn’t need the cards, everyone could participate
- The only thing I don’t like is the fortune cookies bc if you want specifically the Cinnaroll chair it’s down to luck if you get it in the cookie you got. I like the dress up aspect more than decorating, so it didn’t bother me much, but if you really wanted to Sanrio-up your campsite that would’ve been annoying. I only got enough Sanrio stuff from my free cookies to do a floor of my van, but it’s v cute. 6/7 ain’t bad imo
It’s not just the Sanrio Amiibos, it’s also the 2.0 amiibo cards. It’s been over 4 months and they are STILL out of stock at every store I can find… Nintendo can do better

I remember that day I was nervous cuz I wanted to get them so badly (I’m obsessed with Sanrio stuff lol) but had to go to work. When I got on my break, I rushed to my phone and felt my stomach drop when it said they were no longer available, then opened Twitter and saw posts about it. I was so upset and angry about the scalpers tbh. I also had texted my friend from HS that keep in touch with if they had any left since she works at Target. She was kind enough to check for me but also promised me to let me know first when they got more. I think it took about a month or two when she told me they restocked. I had given up by then and was super busy with life in general but thanked her for letting me know. Then a few weeks before Christmas, my 10 yr old baby brother would tell me he had a surprise that he knew I was going to love. Christmas day comes and he gives me his present to me, and behold! It was the Sanrio Amiibo cards and I was super happy cuz he made my day. He told me when he went with our parents there, he saw them and grabbed it. I was thanking him so much lol. We’re pretty close & I also let him use the Tobey card cuz I remember him wanting some of the items it contains. 😊🌸 Also now that you mentioned about the amount of Sanrio Amiibo packs at Target being there,it makes more sense now why my baby brother was able to find them easily that day lol. Either way, I like how thoughtful he was to get them for me for Christmas ☺️

I was so mad, I was ready that morning and got nothing. I went to like 5 targets and no one had them. I ended up buying them on Etsy for like $20 total so it wasn’t too bad haha
So when I went to pick up my cards I had a friend ask me about how my target was selling the packs and so I went back to the game section and I saw an employee carrying three small boxes out, this dude was like immediately overtaken by the line of ppl waiting. This one lady managed to grab a whole box while others tore the other boxes open. It was like a horror movie lol a few ppl didn't even get some and those who attacked the employee were told to leave without the cards. Also the lady legit scanned only one pack of amiibo cards as the whole box and paid like 6 bucks for it. I had over heard her talking on the phone about it, she was outside the store 🙃 but yea it was utter choas and don't get me started on those series ones 😂😂😂
I remember when the sanrio amiibo cards had been announced, I was looking everywhere to see where I would be able to buy them once they released and told my mum about it but I was gutted when I saw they were only available at Target because I live in the UK. Fast forward to Christmas 2021 I opened up a pack of sanrio amiibo cards in my present
The cards were a lot smaller and in a plastic box so I’m guessing she maybe ordered some fake ones, but they still worked so it doesn’t matter lol
I WORK at Target and my store never even got them. I ended up spending 17$ to get them from a scalper. I've been collecting the Amiibo cards since they first came out. I hope Nintendo does a re-release of all of the series because the resellers and scalpers are BAD. It's really depressing since the cards brought me so much joy and I loved inviting every villager I had a card of to see them in NL.
Saaaame, my target never has amiibo cards, ever. I just buy third party ones or buy them online if I can.
NEVER buy from a scalper, it just gives them more motive to do it again. I recommend Etsy or waiting next time lol
@@goodgriefff Yeah definitely, I didn't have much choice since I cannot get them locally. Imo the Etsy people making the NFC cards are worse, I would rather buy a genuine product for 3$ more than someone who's making cards out of a 10 cent chip and a phone.

I went straight to Ebay on release day and bought beautiful knockoffs that were just as pretty and very durable for only $10. And I'm glad I did too. My local Target got scalped because the employees didn't know there was a limit.

Yeah, when I was online, ready to place my order, I got an out of stock notification immediately, so I got out of bed, put some pants on, and went to target. Walked back to the gaming section and found full pegs of the Sanrio Amiibo cards. I saltily bought a pack for myself and a friend in store. Now two years later the Sanrio packs are the only ones you can find, they’re serious peg warmers.
the second i learned this would be a limited release i just decided to buy a knock off pack from an artist that was really great quality and worked perfectly fine. i also gifted a ton of sanrio stuff to people who visited my island because i wanted more people to access the content. it’s one thing to have content behind a paywall but it’s another thing entirely to deliberately make it harder on consumers by creating a fake deficit of products.

I worked at target at the time and didn’t wake up early enough to place an order for them and i was so sad and was even tempted to buy a pack from scalpers on ebay but when i got to work later that day one of my leaders told me they saved a pack for me bc they remembered me talking about them all week😭💜
I remember when they came out- my friend had the same idea to frantically get into Target to get the cards that very March morning. I suspected a frensy and had work that day, so I didn't come with her. She sent me a picture of the utter madness going down there, and I realized I probably should just get them off a reseller on eBay (as horrible as it sounds, I got them a few months after the chaos). The furniture and villagers (Marty is my son now) were awesome, Nintendo knew their target audience and delivered on that aspect; but they clearly screwed up with the whole Target fiasco lol
I got it from Etsy which was a whole chaos (and another seller who claimed to be independent but only was a shitty reseller) and spent 30-40$ but had so many packs
I live in Italy, and I got the beloved sanrio cards last week, finally. They were continuously out of order or selling for more than 30-40 euros, and it just bummed me out, seeing everyone enjoying the sanrio content. All I could was watch from afar :,) but I'm very happy I finally got them now ^^ Just, not sure why they decided to restock them at targets only. I even tried to order from Italy, but target clearly doesn't sell stuff outside of America ahah

7:37 I'm almost positive it was a re-release. I played pocket camp in 2019/2020 and I remember Etoile and all of her cool items in the game. I don't remember chai (or any of the other ones) even though I think she's super cute, and I feel like I would have remembered her. So maybe they just added the other characters, even though Etoile was already in the game.
Also, to clarify, Etoile wasn't an actual villager back then. You may have been able to get her amibo to have her at your campsite,, but I'm not sure. You could only get her items from her fortune cookies. Her fortune cookies worked the same as all the others, you didn't have to pay for them/have an amibo to get them or anything.
As a Canadian it was such a pain in the ass to get them I have no idea why they chose to only release them in target
I remember when they were announced. And I immediately got them. When I was done with them gave it to my best friend as a birthday gift. Lol. I reordered it again today. It was easier to get them in Canada. Bestbuy, GameStop and Amazon had them. But they sold out fast.
Back in New Leaf days I bought the Sanrio collection from a Etsy store as stickers with the amiibo codes on them. Really paid off when the AC world collapsed during the ACNH Sanrio release.

brother you might not see this, but i’ve gone on a binge on your sims/animal crossing videos. this shit is so insane how great of quality they are.
I absolutely love Sanrio and Animal Crossing, so I was really excited when they made the cards. But I don't think they handled the release of this at all. I mean, my Target still has the cards locked up because of this (they weren't originally, I was lucky to find them there a month or so after launch) and I think that Nintendo didn't anticipate that having them only be sold at one store and online (originally, that definitely changed, like I mentioned) would have really bad consequences.
The fact that Nintendo felt like $6 cards was worth more than their costumers getting scammed for months is very telling. They literally had the power to make more, but they didn't until the cards weren't as popular anymore. And it's not like they had no clue, I saw dozens of people talking about it within a week of this starting.
They could've stopped this, but they didn't and for that I lose some of my respect for them.
Also, shoutout to the people who make cheat cards on Etsy and people who run Treasure Islands. They helped so much during this, and still do. They deserve more recognition, really^^^
I’m so glad that they weren’t a limited thing so that after the big anxiety inducing rush, people can still get them. I think I’ll pick some up myself on Monday.

i already bought the sanrio cards during the new leaf days, étoile was love at first sight, shes been my favourite ever since, and i even cosplay her and marty !! basically, the sanrios are my favourite bunch of villagers, and to say i was devastated when i found out they werent in the game at first would be a MASSIVE understatement. i mourned the loss of my favourite villagers, even had a mini graveyard on my island dedicated to them. but them getting added to the game was HUGE for me! i got them earlier than almost everyone else since i already had the cards, and i did cry a little when i finally got to invite étoile to my island (/srs). im pissed off about the scalpers, sure, but i might have bought my cards from someone who makes them across the state and i might have been urging people to do the same when i found out about the scalpers (which i knew would happen to begin with).
That same day I think I paid a reseller in Canada $80. I hated it but it was the price of joy in those dark days.
The sad thing is, this problem with Nintendo isn't even new. Anyone who was around for the Amiibo craze in the first few years of Amiibo can remember the constant understocking and scalping online even back then.
And this was almost ten years ago.
Yes, I still haven't been able to find a Meta Knight amiibo under $60. He's one of my favourite characters, and I can't find Kirby or SSB series versions for anything decent. I refuse to pay over $30 CAD for one... And this is coming from someone who already has over 70 figures from SSB, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon combined. I don't even dare look for the Target exclusive Rosalina. Target was just leaving Canada at that point, so they were getting rid of everything (yay for $10 3DS games), and they still are up for around $60-$100 on ebay.

I just finally got a Villager amiibo last year for a (I guess) decent price after years of it being $100+ from scalpers online. I don't understand why restocking Amiibo just seems impossible for Nintendo to do.
there are so many beautiful sanrio furniture pieces from pocket camp i cannot believe they didn’t include them in new horizons… but that really goes for all furniture there are so many missing pieces and things from the og game and ugh im getting worked up about new horizons again lmao
I couldn’t grab them when they first came out, and I was so upset. When they restocked I finally got a (legit) set, but I think what Target wasn’t considering is that for these packs... there’s no variation. They stocked them during the rerelease like regular amiibo card packs, but there’s no need to buy more than one. So everyone got their one pack and moved on to the packs with the regular villagers in them, cause those really are pure luck.
I’m a simmer and only started to play AC with NH in December, the way you talk about Sanrio & NH is so similar to how simmer’s talk about sims 4 and their packs it just made me chuckle

I had the HARDEST time finding these amiibo cards. A few months later, this girl applied at my job and found out I like AC. She just handed them to me. Wherever you are, thanks Claire!
I didn’t care about these cards when they got their Target release. But a couple of months ago I found two packs at my favorite thrift store for 25 cents a piece and I opened one and the other one will remain sealed. I did play ACNH for a couple of months during 2020 but I felt very overwhelmed by all the daily chores and how to go about designing and decorating my island that I stopped playing in the summer of 2020.

My Target has tons of these. I grabbed one pack on a lark and was like, "yep, these characters have the same boring dialog as everyone else." At least you could catalog their respective Sanrio character collections when you called them to visit. I had no idea these were so sought after and rife with controversy 🤣

I was able to get the Sanrio cards on release day by showing up at 8am at Target.. however, now i can't get any of the new AC Series 6 cards. It is also disappointing and disgusting to see that GameStop now sells single cards for $25 a piece with no objection from Nintendo. I think Nintendo has let everyone down. They easily could have distributed these cards through all their partnerships.

The Sanrio card struggle was def. real.... and goofy. I was still being very safe and not going into stores, so I was totally into the order pick up, but it didn't matter. Impossible to get, twas dirty. BUT now they lay around my Target with out a care in the world. Oh well, just part of pop culture collecting culture...
i missed this whole portion of the game because i live in Canada. And in my province we have no Targets, so id have to order them off the internet and at the time they were selling for 10x more than what they were sold at American Targets 😂

I played pocket camp for a couple years and the way you would get the Sanrio items was through fortune cookies and gifts. There were a few ways to get fortune cookies, and gifts had to be sent to you from a friend. Pocket camp had so much furniture that isn’t available in NH that I miss. Like the strawberry set 😍 at least they added a bunch of the furniture with the update, but not all of it
The weird thing is that this scarcity problem with amiibo has almost never existed in Australia. I think the only time we ever have issues is when we just don't get the amiibo in the first place, but usually, if you want an amiibo at release, it's not hard to get if you just preorder it... Same goes for the amiibo cards, where there's never such a problem with supply that you can't get something through preorder. It's not like the USA where it'll sell out before preorders end usually.
