Sadly, because Mario Party is extremely popular and too similar, I doubt this will ever be its own game. Hopefully, though, a mini version of it could be implemented into a game as a mini game or multiplayer feature!!

@@monbub I honestly wonder why they don’t allow modding because all games that do have grown so much to the point where people will buy their game just to mod (like sims 4 and minecraft) I mean a lot of people are mad at the sims for taking advantage of that but I mean it works in keeping the community alive.

It should be said that her idea at 14:54 is actually in the game... For the villagers that you have living on the board. As long as they aren't the host, scanning a Villager's card would turn you into them for the roll, and the number on the card would have a higher chance to be rolled. If you do so, you do forfeit your Happy Point that you get for rolling the die each turn.
Also, I actually enjoy amiibo Festival, and will boot it up on occasion. I actually enjoy it more than New Horizons.

the loading screens in horizons are actually criminal, never have i ever waited so long over and over again to exit or enter a building in a videogame. i mean the ds game had even way shorter loading screen, if i could i would’ve refunded the game tbh but this is nintendo
LMAOAOA FRR, no bc acnh is mad slow, acww is like 5 seconds, which i was shocked by as the ds has a WAY slower cpu and engine than the switch 😭😭

Honestly this is my favorite animal crossing spin off. I love playing this with my family and my grandma who normally doesnt play video games loves it too
This game is definitely underrated. I feel like some cool things people don't know are how your town is unique (the board layout will be different between save files) and also if you've saved Happy Home Designer data on an amiibo card then move that character into your town, it'll use the saved house exterior, which is pretty cool!
I feel many people didn't understand how significant amiibo festival was for this type of era. I wish many people tried the game as it's a great board game.

Amiibo Festival isn’t terrible, it just isn’t an appropriate meal replacement for a Mainline Animal Crossing game.

I feel like this game had some cool ideas, but was just executed poorly. I've always wanted more minigames in the actual main AC games, definitely wouldn't mind them adding some of these minigames to the main games.
6:20: The idea for the Switch did have to come from somewhere. It came from 30 years of making handhelds like the GameBoy and 3DS. All that changed was that the dock had an HDMI port. The Switch is not a console, it is a handheld. Nintendo doesn't make consoles.

Kind of an aside, I’m fairly sure Amiibo Festival sold as well (💀) as it did because the Wii U was Nintendo’s first console that had extremely strict restrictions for devs and third party games. The shop had some more titles, but as far as physical releases, there were hardly any. And the Wii U was super expensive to buy a dev kit for iirc. So it wasn’t worth trying to figure out how to make or adapt games to it, especially for little chance of a digital release.

I've played the game before with a friend and honestly it was the perfect cute relaxing game to play when a bit more low energy. Those times when Mario Party is too much with all the mini games etc.

As a not-fan of Animal Crossing, I remember when the game was announced back at E3 2015. The Wii U had gone from struggling to slowly dying by this point, so Nintendo fans were desperate for anything to justify them sticking with their system. When that Isabelle amiibo was shown tapping the GamePad, everyone went "ooh!" but then they showed the game board, and everyone slumped back into their seats. The issue is that Animal Crossing is made by the same team that put out Splatoon literally four months earlier, so a new game wasn't going to happen on the Wii U, and Nintendo commissioned NdCube (the Mario Party guys) to rush out Amiibo Festival for the holidays six months after they put out Mario Party 10 (which was also quite bad). Even worse, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash came out two weeks after Amiibo Festival, and was also infamously rushed with basically no content, so Nintendo fans decided to lump them in together as the perfect showcase of how far Nintendo had fallen during the Wii U era.

This video made me purchase a video game. Not Amiibo festival. Wild World. This was my first animal crossing game and you made me feel nostalgic. And there's been a DS renaissance with everyone playing new leaf, which I already have.
I actually loved it. Still have it and play it now and then.

I remember getting amiibo festival for my birthday when it came out and playing it once I just remember that I liked it but as said,the figurine part of it was a bust like sometimes it wouldn’t work and I would get a lil upset about it so the 5/10 rating is fair in my opinion

I played this a lot with a friend of mine when it came out. I really loved it, but shortly thereafter, she moved to another country with her Wii U. I've always wanted to get a Wii U of my own to play it, but I've never been able to justify getting a Wii U just to play Amiibo Festival by myself. It really is just so much better with friends. And sadly -- I have the game, and all of the figures already. Hopefully one day we can get Animal Crossing enthusiasts in our immediate friend circle to play with.

I have a soft spot for this game. I got it for 2 dollars shortly after launch, I already had all the AC amiibos and a butt ton of cards so playing with friends was easy. We had fun with it even if it was kind of bare bones.
City Folk was my first animal crossing game. I played it for he first time at my cousins and later I would beg my parents to buy is a Wii so I would be able to just play animal crossing. I was obsessed. I was playing it day to night and even staying home “sick” from school to play more lol. Yes, the music is unbeatable.
Nintendogs had multiple versions starring different dog types, so many people double dipped.
Nintendo should have offered the game as a free download and used it to push amiibo sales.

To be honest, this game is pretty cute, it could be fun if they made an even better version as a spin off on the switch while we’re waiting for the next main game. i think that this was a perfect game to come to the wii u though, since the console wasn’t the most played (i dont think) like it died pretty quick when the switch came out & now there closing the e shop
I actually bought the same game bundle a few years ago (kinda cheap), I did not even own a WiiU and only did it cuz I wanted the figures and amiibo cards to use in New Leaf (to play the island scape) still have the sealed game 😅
There actually seems like there was some potential here if it was thought out more. Nintendo shouldve made it a mix of Monopoly, Mario Party, and Fortune Street. But the lack of minigames on the board game is baffling.

I feel like there is a way it could sorta work... but it would be more work for likely only 2 or 3 mil max in sales vs the almost half mil this got. Either way, a physical version would likely be smartest and lowest disappointment

Thank you for the video!!! I really appreciate your genuine take on Amiibo Festival. But, now that you have a Wii U I have a favor to ask. If you don't have them already, get yourself a copy of Nintendo Land, Mario Party 10, Wii Party U, Yoshi's Woolly World and if you can find a copy of Game and Wario and Wii Sports Club get those games too! All these games are amazing! Totally underated, underappreciated and ridiculous fun with other people. The Wii U was an incredible console that I still boot up these days. Not only did it have some great games but it is backwards compatible with Wii games so you can enjoy Mario Galaxy 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and many other timeless classics you cannot play on a Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Land will have you and your family having loads of fun!! And if times are hard right now, I promise these games will bring a smile to your faces!...plus, there are really fun Animal Crossing and Pikmin mini games on Nintendo Land that you may enjoy!!

It came out during a time when nintendo seemed to only be releasing spinoff games like Hey Pikmin, paper mario color splash, star fox zero, and metroid prime federation force, and people were desperately waiting for the next mainline game
when it came out us animal crossing fans were all DESPERATE for a new animal crossing game and were all expecting nintendo to announce a new main game for the wii u. this is what we got instead😬😬 and we had to wait for an entire new console generation (the switch) to finally get a new animal crossing.

I loved this game when it came out because it was a less intense Mario party which worked for me and my brothers and it was a lot more fair to my 9 years younger brother.

I got this game for less than $3 at gamestop and it came with Isabelle and Digby amiibos AND three amiibo cards and you know, I use those things so much for the animal crossing games I DO play it was well worth that $2.68
I love animal crossing amibo festival this game was part of my childhood and I loved it and I playd it before I playd mario party but I lost my amibo do I playd it like a month and than my amibo was gone but I just buyd it agian and gosh I love it now even more. I playd with my parents and gosh the fun

I always view city folk and wild world as basically the same, with the main difference just being the console. I am just not a fan of playing animal crossing on DS but I LOVED city folk, it's my most played ac game. I haven't played it in a hot minute now that I'm older, but it was my fave as a tween. I love the music and I woulf always play it when I stayed home sick from school lol. The Wii U seems so weird to play 💀 but I'm sorry to hear ab the breakup my love, you've got this ❤
ngl, I don't mind the game? Back in 2015 I used to take my wii u back and forth to my house and my ex's house and we'd play it sometimes. I'd also play it a lot with my family was just a cute lil fun thing to do on a Sunday. I'd play a lot of the lil min-games by myself. Fun lil 2015 thing.
The game would’ve been successful if the Mini games happen like constantly like if you land in a specific spot and if there’s like strategy in games like Monopoly or Fortune Street but the worst part of it is that Amiibos are a requirement, not an option and this is the only game that’s like that.
I personally love amiibo festival but not for the gameplay. I mean it was garbage for real. But I got it from Amazon with this Collectors Box for like 10€ I think. In this box were the game (garbage) but also two amiibos (both Isabelle and Digby) AND Amiibo cards and they were guaranteed Rosie, Stiches and Goldie. The amiibos and the cards are actually a win at this pricepoint. Thats the memory I connected to the game, so I can’t hate it.😂
