      Joey Carbstrong valid points but a lot of the time you come across too aggressive even though that's not your intention. Give the people the benefit of the doubt that they are ignorant to the industry and be more patient with them coming to terms with the eye opening the information. Obviously it's for the video and it's your channel but the other protestors look a bit bored as you weren't giving them a chance to talk, I'm sure they have valid things to say.

      My question for this guy is if consuming meat is a terrible thing, and we must stop because we are hurting the animal... what do we do about animal predators? We are animals yeah? As in the human race. Would he find it morally better if we went out and hunted for meat like predators? Or is his argument that since we can eat plants we should only eat plants for the sake of animals. It is engrained in all predators to eat meat, and humans have just found a way to feed a lot of people that meat we look for. It's not like anyone ENJOYS killing anything. We're just animals... we like food... and the way to get it just isn't sunshine and rainbows

      Martin Kiel earthling ed does have an incredible amount of patience but him being calm doesn’t make him automatically right tho. I don’t mean offense by this but veganism is for the wealthy. Anyone who understands capitalism knows that what you want would never work. Companies aren’t gonna all the sudden just start giving away food for free if we go vegan so outlawing meat would only take away peoples ability to provide themselves with a virtually cost free alternative where they can feed their families quite well. I dont think you understand much of what its like living in poverty in rural parts of the world. Rural poverty isnt going anywhere and meat absolutely IS a necessity for these people whether you like to hear it or not. Veganism is a nice idea if you can afford to do it but it wont work for everyone i can guarantee it. People in rural places with less access to jobs to make money, not enough money for land to potentially farm and less access to grocery stores where they can buy food will be put at a much greater disadvantage than those in the suburbs and cities. I do have compassion for animals and i believe all life is sacred but that doesn’t mean we can live without sacrifice. Nearly every luxury we have in life comes with a sacrifice. Yin and yang it always balances out no matter what. Good and evil are much more closely linked than we like to admit and i personally think vegans are just uncomfortable with that idea which is completely understandable as most humans are. I respect the nobility of youre cause but disagree with your means. Although i eat both meat and dairy i can admit veganism has some solid points. That doesn’t mean it should be forced upon everyone tho. Encouraged for those who can afford it maybe but never forced. As i said everything we do has a yin and a yang, a good side and an evil side we have to be very careful when forcing ideas such as this into law.

      I don't see anything wrong with going vegan as long as one can afford to maintain a good diet. What is troubling here is the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities. This called
      𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐦.
      Only a person, that is, a being possessed of reason and self-control, can be the subject of rights and duties. Rights and duties are moral ties which can exist only in a moral being or person. Beings that may be treated simply as means to the perfection of persons can have no rights, and to this category the animal (brute) belongs. In the Divine plan of the universe the lower creatures are subordinated to the welfare of man.
      Although we are bound to act towards them in a manner conformable to their nature, we may lawfully use them for our reasonable wants and welfare, even though such employment of them necessarily inflicts pain upon them. But the wanton infliction of pain is not the satisfaction of any reasonable need, and being an outrage against the Divinely established order, is therefore sinful.
      This principle, by which, at least in the abstract, we may solve the problem of the lawfulness of vivisection and other cognate questions, is tersely put by Zigliara:
      "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬. He's never going to post a video up against someone who makes solid counter arguments. He's just showing the winning ones.. I actually wish the world was vegan.. I have compassion for animals.. but i would be able to argue against his points.. He catches people off guard puts a lot of pressure on them.. Most fold under the pressure and the tactics he uses.. but u won't see uploads of those who wouldn't. I know if he filmed me that video won't be shown. First thing i would have told him is... " oh so you are suggesting people eat grass?" cause thats like 80 percent of what they feed cows.

    • @grant2890
      @grant2890 6 лет назад +34

      Guinea54 if you tried that argument, I have no doubt tat Joey would have rightfully responded to your argument no differently, "99% of cows are factory farmed and don't eat grass; they eat a prepared mixture grains grown on plantations that could be used to grow food to feed people directly". I haven't heard any valid arguments against veganism, except for worst case scenarios and straw-man logic (e.g. what if you were stranded on a deserted island with nothing to eat except animals, or our ancestors though, or lions though...). If you watch the documentary Cowspiracy, you'll see that to raise enough grass-fed cattle for everyone, we'd need to clear every bit of the land in the US, Canada and Mexico just to feed to US alone. But it's a moot point, if we don't NEED it. I think you'd agree as you say you want the world to go vegan...

    • @Guinea54
      @Guinea54 6 лет назад +8

      Fresh grass would be a fucking premium food for a cow..they give the animals processed scraps of fillers with hay.... that are cheaply manufactured... No one is going to spend more on a resource to sell a resource.. Meat has been a survival food for humans since the beginning of human existence. That is all life cares about at the end of the day and how things have evolved... for survival.. If plants were so self-sustaining we would see cultures around the world who had numerous generations of vegetarians.. but we don't. People have been cross breeding, hunting, farming and gathering for 10's of thousands of years in the name of survival only. If plants were the real viable way for survival, entire cultures would be vegetarians.. If they can't afford to feed fucking cows grass... which is basically a weed... the most easily grown thing on the planet.. How much land would you need to harvest the variety of fruits, vegetables, grains , beans, and other plants needed for billions of people besides giving them buckets of hay and fillers. What would be a more sustainable meal for you.. eating grass/hay filler soy concoction scrap blend or the cow if you had to pick one for survival. The cow eats the grass,, or the processed hay shit and the cow then becomes a food source for something higher up on the chain that needs a different nutritional need. In the perfect world, lions would eat grass too.. everything would eat grass and hay... But our pet cats and dogs I guess don't need the meat in their food either.. where the hell would i get my turkey feast meow mix i feed the cats outside in your perfect world... Something had to die and be put in the can to help the animals outside survive.. and show me some people in the world who were strictly vegetarians for 3, 4, 5 generations... and what would happen to all these free animals without natural predators who keep them from over populating? If we aren't eating them.. then what? You're still going to need a fuck ton of grass for an ever expanding species that no longer has natural predators. .. What u think because they stop farming them and also stop eating them that they will disappear? the opposite would happen their population would boom ..

      That's what Carbstrong does. He talks over people. He tries to intimidate. He shoves his message down people's throats and why? Because his lines are learned and any deviation he hasn't heard before cannot be allowed to throw him. What would this video be like if he stopped to listen? Boring to the brainwashed followers maybe.
      Veganism is flawed on every level. It is pedalled by people who don't have the stomach for reality. Life is not simple. There are 7 billion people on the planet. We are all different. Some of us think it is ok to kill animals for food. We don't feel horrified, squeamish or negative in any way about it.
      Meat is nutritious. Toddlers always go for the meat first at dinner time. They aren't taught this. It is their bodies going for the food that is going to make them grow big and strong (brain development etc)
      We evolved to enjoy the taste of nutritious food. I include my favourite fruits and vegetables in that but also meat.
      I've said enough. Vegans are squeamish is the main point before anyone starts throwing out stats etc

The vegan gives a rubbish sustainability argument, why does he not go to a forest and live within nature, he enjoys all creature comforts of a developed country and lectures on sustainability.0
      nature kills entire species, billions of deaths occur everyday, it's not all rosy. Agriculture helped us create civilization, nature itself is not sustainable,it destroys and creates.

      @BBHubbs 6 лет назад +5

      alan shelly koshy
      Wow. You're having an interesting conversation with yourself, here. Let me see about addressing somethings:
      You obviously have not educated yourself on the benefits of a whole food plant based lifestyle. There's no shame in that. I only began learning 3 yrs ago so hopefully you have time. Here's a few credible sources just to steer you in the right direction:
      Dr Goldhamer, Dr Klaper, Dr Pam Popper, Dr Barnard, Dr McDougal, Dr Fuhrman. There's plenty more but that's already a good start.
      You're right, many things fall onto genetics. However, where health issues are concerned, one never knows how much of a problem truly is genetics until all other possible contributors have been eliminated. We all know that proper diet and a good mental attitude are the best medicines.
      The difference between vegetarians and vegans is usually huge. From an ethical standpoint, an environmental standpoint and also from a healthful standpoint. Again, just check with those doctors listed... Their not funded by the vegetable industry. Hahaha!
      Lastly, meat contains nutrients... Yes, it does. Some things, the body creates on it's own but we need plants to be healthy and avoid the toxicity that animal proteins bring to the body (by way of counter actions, building strong immune systems, etc). It's better for us, humans, to just avoid the toxic animal
      proteins in the first place.By the way, where do you think the lion's meal got it's nutrients to then pass onto the lion?
      🤔
      As for the other blah-blah worth of stuff that I didn't even mention...
      It's tiring when people don't want to stick to the subject. Must be because I'm just a weak vegan 😂😂😂

    Joey, as much as I value your activism and I understand you getting heated because its a topic that all affects us deeply, you have got to learn to listen more and let the other person speak without being so aggressive and 'passionate' sometimes. Youre a great activist and I commend your work but that would be a huuuge positive addition for you, and I really believe much more people would listen to what you have to say. If you listened more you would have been able to answer much more statements and questions he made in this vid. Look at Ed and James who very often take the time to listen and let the others speak. A great quote I once heard on persuasion goes something like ''you've got to make the person think it was their idea''. No offence and I hope you see this as constructive criticism!

      Carnivorous animals will eat you. Farmed animals are not carnivorous, they are herbivorous. Pigs, cows, chicken and lambs have never done anything to hurt human beings.
      No, carnivorous animals don't feel regret when they kill, because they don't posess moral agency and they are killing for need. Human beings kill for taste, and most of us can't even kill anything, that's why we pay somebody else to do it for us. If we see an animal suffering or in pain, we want to help them, we don't want to eat them. That's because we're not natural predators.

Just because people used to own slaves or women didn't have equal rights, doesn't mean we shouldn't pursuit the abolishment of these things in the future. The reason why plant based diets are popular just now is that for a vast majority of the people there is reasonable access to these diets as our technology has advanced.

    Hi everybody reading this. I wanna make this as short, sweet and to the point as possible. Two months ago I became vegan basically because of Joey carbstrong and earthling Ed’s videos on RUclips as well as several documentaries they recommended that I watched (cowspiracy, dominion, and land of hope and glory). Now that I've realized the Atrocity that is animal agriculture and factory farming, I’ve decided to dedicate my whole life to the betterment of animals’ welfare, wellbeing, and freedom. So my overall plan right now is to emulate what Joey and Ed do in their videos and go to cities and downtown areas and share this message with people. I want to say something like “you can’t justify not being vegan… proove me wrong” on a cardboard cut out written in big letters! I’m writing this and commenting this on their videos in hopes of like minded people reading it and reaching out to me and wanting to talk and share our stories and our passion for animals and the betterment of the earth. I’ll be candid for a minute. My goal is to realistically meet others and meet up in person and be an actual activist and spread the message by doing a variation of what Joey and Ed are doing. If you’re interested, hit me up. My email is bseldridge95@gmail.com and my name is Brian. All the love in the universe to all you reading this

    One is calm and show respect and have good manners while discussing. The other is just aggressive and won’t listen. One is open for a debate and the other isn’t. So in fact this isn’t a discussion it’s more a way for one person to force his own opinion upon someone else.

      It only seemed aggressive to you since you have emotional investment in your current lifestyle and don't like your views challenged. Admittedly he spoke more than the farmer, BUT he only did so because he wanted to clarify his arguments and reasoning. The farmer could have easily walked away if he wanted to, but he chose to stay and he didn't seem to object or feel threatened/insulted in any way. Yes, I agree. He is passionate. However, often people may wrongly mistake passion for aggression. Could he have been more calm? Absolutely, he could. Everybody can always do better in a certain situation. But I wouldn't say that he was immature or "aggressive".

      Hes emotionally invested in his life style?? He was aggressive in his rebuttles. The key to a good debate is to not go into it with personal attacks and preconceived opinions. You just did exactly the same thing. The only reason someone could possibly disagree with you is because theres something wrong or immoral about them that causes them to see things differently. Id never debate with this guy because hes extremely closed minded. Not only was he proven wrong afew hundred times, alot of what he says is factually incorrect, whenever the other guy makes a good point, its straight to the personal attacks and completely negates his point. Humble is being open to other perspectives, open to factual and scientifically correct information and being able to handle someone proven you wrong. This guy is far from humble. Hes a dick who forces people inti discussion wont listen to what they say, berrate them and force his beliefs down their throats.

      Pretty sure he listened, or else he wouldn't make sense in his responses.

      @@arefrigerator396 That doesn't mean he listened. Have you ever had a debate with someone that manipulates what you;re trying to say and constantly takes it out of cotnext and they just refuse to hear you out? Yep, thats whats happening here. It's not one man listening and taking in what the others saying. It's one man refusing consider another point of view and behaving like a brick wall.

      @@raeleo1hodges282 it doesn't help when the big fulla contradicts a lot of what he says anyway. There's never any sense of letting someone go off on their condradictions when your intent is getting a message across. It's obvious (to me) that the big dude needed more validation on the information and I think it was great that Joey provided him the links and information after and I've got a lot of respect for both guys. I think the big fulla is a really friendly guy who recognises in himself what he's doing isn't a particularly good thing. You can see it when he makes comments about himself and he doesn't have a very high opinion of himself. Joey had more good to say about the guy than he had himself.
