PINK TURNS TO BLUE!!!! I am a HUGE Hüskers fan, lovely stuff Andy x
I did some calculations and at the current rate, by the year 2050, the number of pedals on the market will be greater than the number of atoms in the universe, though I could be off by a year or two.
I said something similar years ago, aliens who eventually find Earth will wonder what all these metal boxes laying around a desolate planet were for.
Mary cries "Horsemeat!" Wind through the trees.
We don’t need more pedals in a pedal crowded world , but why not they have cool names , always nice to hear you Andy
Maybe I'm missing something, but 'Horsemeat' is the worst pedal name I've ever heard!
Don’t know why anyone would complain about having too many pedals in the world 🤨
That is valid, I mean nobody is forcing you to buy anything. The Klon thing is getting out of hand though. TC Electronic has the Zeus, which is a %100 accurate clone for less than $60. I don't think it is really fair to the consumer to throw another $250 version of what is really a low cost circuit. Like most pedal circuits. People spend too much time chasing unicorns rather than dialing in a sound and learning to play.
@@Nightwinflyer I own the Zeus, I stack it with with a Nobles ODR1 (good value for the price). Together, they definitely kick the Horsemeat in the Horsedick
@@Nightwinflyer c’mon, you’ve never seen sling blade?
Great playing Andy. You’ll make anything sound awesome.
Thanks for the demo. They all seem very useful.
........
While PRS guitars certainly live up to their potential, none of these pedals would ever make me buy them and replace any of the pedals I already have
Who the hell is paying 300+ bucks for a flanger? And if you have to connect your drive to the Klon somehow to get ppl to pay any attention to it- should tell ppl something- and it's 300 bucks as well. The compressor is better- not quite so horribly overpriced, simple, effective- it may sell a few units but- I'm disappointed. PRS had a chance here to bring something truly new to the market, for a reasonable price- instead they went totally the other direction.
@@stoneysdead689 If the regen is shared between the two it is a waste of $300 , mxr 117 the manual and regen interact well
Three cheers for Husker Du in.a pedal demo!
love that flanger. need to hear it on bass. Awesome demo from Andy as always
.......
i like how andy sounds like himself, even with these, some of other demos the horsemeat channels nickleback and I can't unhear it.
Oh my, the old Nickelback-ittus.
I’ll be praying for ya.
Man, the flanger is pretty damn cool!
Not a huge fan of the knob placement on these. They're kinda close to the switches, and on the flanger the bottom left knob could be read as another footswitch. They do look pretty and sound good, though
I agree. The compressor switch is way too close to the knob. Both of those knobs could have been horizontal higher up. The flanger is a little better, but more distance would help. The OD is OK.
So we have a PRS Klon Klone?
I'm not that much into modulation, but that flanger is actually really interesting with the two LFOs mixed.

First things first, 2 more days for the Duke Of Tone.
What is that pedal, Duke Of Tone? Centaur-esque? I have a Klon-DNA Maxon OD-820... I love how it looks like a huge Tubescreamer, but, it is certainly not.
@@oldnikix : MXR Duke of tone, based off of Analog Man-King Of Tone

I read that as Mary Cries Horsemeat
Me too lmaoo
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great flanger.
My dyslexic ass just read the wind cries horse meat

Some interesting designs for sure. Perfectly good sounding and at least they are trying something that looks unique. That Flanger though, all those tweakable parameters, they might be onto something with that one. I agree with some other comments though, highly likely someone is going to stomp on that knob. Lol

A lot of those flanger sounds gave me Alex Lifeson vibes!

I am always game for some new pedals but the naming scheme is... It was windy that day when we buried the still born foal. The rustling in the trees mixed with Mary's crying was the sound of death, it was heartbreaking.

We don’t need more pedals, Andy. What we need is some payin gigs. 😂 but seriously, Wind Through the Trees is pretty cool.
The Horse Meat pedal sounds really fizzy to me. The flanger is cool though
Only costs an arm, a leg, and an 90s US made Custom 24… or an early Dragon. 😂
BTW what is that light blue tele-style? Never saw the bridge angled, and bridge pickup flat!

for the Chinese market maybe ?
Most interested in the compressor for bass. There's definitely room for simple compressors for bass.
Check the optivalve
Really love it
Listen to latest super secret band song to hear it
I always track with it as well as live
Just tell me which one's the Tube Screamer so I can go to Sweetwater
The flanger is a tube screamer
I’m a little disappointed that you had a dual flanger, and you didn’t try to quote “High Landrons” at least for a bar or 2. 😜
Nice sounding stuff... but probably outside my current gear budget.

I can't think of another Klon klone with an EQ. Very interesting.
The Tumnus Deluxe does.
The “horsemeat” sounds better than most of the other clones to me, though… It seems like it can sound like a Klon on certain settings, and on other settings, it can sound like a much more modern drive.
@@robertsimpson5801 I have a Klon-DNA Maxon OD-820 that does what you are describing. I think this PRS Horsemeat is a slightly smaller enclosure, and, I am curious if it can rival my OD-820.
Not gonna lie that dual analog flanger sounds frickin great. A lot of usable sounds and having those LFO parameters is awesome. Might even buy the flanger based off this review. Rest of the pedals are very sub par imho
Well since a Klon is half Horse. I would have had the class to name the pedal Seabiscuit Fart.
Horsemeat wins for worst Klon clone name 😂
That's so fuckin' FUNNY!
And worst Klon clone sound, too.

Horsemeat sounds like a fender super sonic 22 on drive
Super Sonics are the hottest amps FMIC has ever made, to date. Absorbing other amplifier brands sure has honed their lineup.
They should have put meme Barry’s picture on the Horsemeat.

HORSEMEAT??????
A Rolling Stones lyrics reference...
I'm only here for the comment section. 😄
"Hey dude, you hear that new Horsemeat?" "Yeah bro, that Horsemeat sounds sick" "I really think that Horsemeat could tie my gain staging together" "Yeah, totally agree and it's not like it's the worst fucking stupid name for a pedal ever in history or anything"
Agreed and it deserves to bomb on that basis alone.
People who criticize others are too self sabotaging to attempt to amount to anything in their own life...
Regarding the names of these pedals... Horsemeat is a Rolling Stones lyric reference: "I'm feeling hungry... Can't see the reason; Just ate a Horsemeat pie..."
@@oldnikix you sound like someone who could be convinced to bottle the smell of your own flatulence. It’s a terrible name, context or no. Rolling Stones didn’t use a Klon. The name is shut. That’s my opinion, I’m entitled to it, being salty and humorous says nothing about my self worth, I am an extremely satisfied, content and lucky individual who’s seen the world from the viewpoints of both the gutter and the mountaintop, lived to appreciate the difference and I can surely take measure in giving some of my fellow pedal lovers a lil’ laugh-I’ll definitely choose that path over some self important, self righteous bullshit Jordan Peterson armchair wisdom quote.
@@oldnikix I'm going to guess that the name actually comes from Paul Reed Smith, himself, who is a super competitive guy. He probably said, "This pedal is so awesome, it'll make horsemeat of the pedal we're copyi--, I mean, the Centaur.
Also, your first sentence doesn't really makes sense (and could just as easily apply to your own comment ; ).
There are tons of pedals with stupid names.
the world has enough pedals
But u got new guitar players everyday…… and we all almost sound the same using the same amps, pedals, guitars, pickups that’s popular
“PRS forges their own path”
All 3 pedals are literally just clones of vintage pedals.
You would be erroneous in your assertion... If only you were right, you would be self-righteously feeling so. Facts don't care about feelings, though... So, go, now, sister projectgoatse.
@@oldnikix what are you smoking? The compressor is literally a LA-2A in a box. Like Andy LITERALLY says so. There’s dozens of pedals like this. Horsemeat is a Klon Centaur clone - it’s in the freaking name and the circuit design is the same. And the flanger is an Electric Mistress Flanger.
I second your opinion, there are no new pedal circuits. Even if there were, it would simply replicate sounds we already have. I can't wait for them to start bringing elements back from the moon, we will have million dollar pedals for certain!
Does every Reverb demo feature a garage sale axe? Strat, Tele, Les Paul…the gold standards to judge tone.
One might think the Silver Sky was a big enough cash grab from PRS... "But wait, there's more!"
Capitalists be Capitalists. Are you a Communist?
@Eric Robertson you're right. Overdrive, compressor, flanger and the Stratocaster are all original PRS concepts lol. My bad. They probably had the same company in Singapore make these pedals that makes their acoustic guitars (that also makes guitars for a dozen other brand names because, well, cash grab)
🐴💩 would have been a better name

That was painful to watch. Sales just flatlined

If you cant sound good and get it done with cheap pedals, the problem might be the player.
I don't see how price has any relation to that
Careful, the JHS watchdogs will be after you
Exactly. So many musicians of the 1960s, 1970s , 1980s etc used what was available to them, and that was usually stock instruments and amps . It's the talent and ability that matters. The rest is smoke and mirrors.
I suck at guitar.
I know the pedals won't fix that and practice 30 minutes to 90 minutes every day (better but still sloooow)
but I have a credit at the guitar shop, 2 guitars, an amp and a speaker so... I'm looking at maybe a couple of pedals just for the fun of it.
@@joesmith8398 This is total BS. Look at the studio gear of those bands and you’ll see amps that are still coveted today.

My god I love PRS but these pedals are just hideous.
Mediocre
PRS has finally beaten this dead horse enough to get horsemeat out of it. The music world has been over saturated with pedals for at least a decade at this point. I think Fender alone has made like 3 separate series each with there own OD, distortion, delay, etc. all in the past decade. And on top of that, that Horsemeat does sound like a real Klon, it's harsh and shrill, similar to a cheap practice amp. I don't even like PRS guitars to begin with so I, like many other people in the comments, are gonna a take a pass on these oversaturated, overpriced clones.
