- Official music video for the single "The Big Sky" written and produced by British singer Kate Bush.
The song was the fourth and final single from the No. 1 album Hounds of Love. The single was released on 28th April 1986 and peaked at number 37 in the UK singles chart.
The music video for "The Big Sky" was the first to be directed by Kate herself.
In 1987, "The Big Sky" was nominated for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards.

To be honest, i don’t think i ever heard Kate Bush before stranger things. After the song Running up that hill (a deal with god) was played. I wanted to learn more. Here I am now, listening to every song of hers, owning vinyls of hers, posters, paintings, watching old documentaries of hers, etc.. I recommend Kate Bush to everyone and anyone and I love her music. Thank you.

I first heard Kate bush on the radio while getting ready to go to school on a rainy morning in 1978, the song, Wuthering Heights... I was beguiled by this strange and beautiful sound coming from the speaker... 46 years later and I'm still enjoying and hearing new things in her collected works, I guess as I age and have had some life experiences the lyrics have more meanings to me. Kate has a great gift and has given us great gifts.

She is a joyful, artistic, crazy, bundle of wonderful. She is a masterpiece. No matter how deep, dark and profound she can go lyrically and musically I've always sensed a child like joy in her music too. An artist who adults and children can both love. I'm amazed she never did a score for a children's series or movie. She once said her music speaks to children too and it is even more obvious here.
She actually did the credit theme for the movie adaptation of "The golden Compass", and you're right, it fits perfectly and she could've done more stuff like that. The song is called "Lyra".
She’s been my favourite since I heard this al um as a very very small child so I agree!
I think of my parents when I hear this. I played the album so many times aged 13 in my bedroom it used to drive them mad. "That one about looking at the big sky, did she run out of lyrics?" Plus they were forever asking me "Hasn't she made it up that wretched hill yet?" Now 30+ years on and I can't believe it, they actually like AND admire Kate Bush. We were estranged for 20 years, I think whenever they heard Kate on the radio she reminded them of the teenage me. I know I will regret those 20 years when they are no longer around.

I don’t remember what she thought about Waking the Witch but she was certain Jig of Life made the cat crazy.

Totally! This album is just so well-rounded. It can be big, small, sonically massive or intimate, or progressively getting more intense, I love it. That's in my top 5 favorite albums of all time in fact! The other two artists beating her in my list is Björk and AURORA, which are must-listen artists for sure :)))

Kate has at least four albums in my ten. Hounds for sure, the kick Inside, Never for Ever, Aerial. I would argue for The Red Shoes and Lionheart as well., but that would leave no room for Wish You Were Here, The White Album and Revolver, which have to be there.

This song needs to be played LOUD! I think it's probably the strongest of the singles on the Hounds of Love album. Played loud, it just builds and builds until, towards the end, it sounds quite demented! The video is a visual feast too but, for me, doesn't quite capture the anarchy of the song. Loud, loud, loud - try it!

I had just started working IT at a Wall Street firm in the early '90s. I had this album on cassette tape.
I worked a 4 to midnight shift, so by evening I was in the office by myself, monitoring the server backups and otherwise whiling away the hours. I used to play this whole album loud AF.
When this song would come on, I would have to get up from behind my desk and just shake, rattle and roll! In the '80s I had been introduced to punk rock and mosh pits... so sometimes I would just thrash out to this tune, a mosh pit of one!!!

Though I do love all her works at least as much as you do, I honestly feel the idolization of her as a person is going a little too far at times. She is no goddess! He's in the video Lily because he's in her film The Line, the cross and the curve. The Lily video is actually just the clip from the film, but you probably already knew that...

I had Running Up That Hill stuck in my head before it appeared in Stranger Things, but after the new season came out I re-visited the album (I only knew Running Up That Hill and Hounds Of Love) and I found THIS, it's awesome! Also, Waking The Witch is another rare gem. It's a great album for sure.
