There not many reasons for the pigs to be screaming, unless they are breeding/giving birth(As the ancestor say they do a ton) which make this way more disturbing.
Pigs are probably used to complete darkness and are intimidated by your torch. Once that goes out they go crazy and start to surround you, all of them, closer and closer.

They breed quickly down here in the dark.
