He thinks only of the people he considers friends. His selflessness is how he got leprosy in the first place. Overall.. I would get him a beer (if he is into that. Idk maybe he’s a wine or whisky guy)
@@numberc8420 I feel like the first game nailed the combat and atmosphere but the weak point was the progression, so I'd really like to see them take on a more classic adventure-style game, maybe have each class be an actual character with an official name & flesh out their backstories. But I don't know how well that would meld with perma-death.
Personally, the freaks are my favorite heroes. There's something glorious about the beast man, the leper, the occultist, and the flagellant making a suicide charge against evil. What can evil do when the threat of death is no longer a deterrant?
This music while camping always makes me want to leave the dungeons and save them all. I truly hate when my characters dies after watching them all together with this in the background. I imagine them all scared but brave to defeat the horror of this madness
The atmosphere in this game is on-point. I remember the first time hearing this, I sat and stared at my heroes, wondering what fears and doubts ran beneath them as this song played in the background. It reminded me that there is hope and courage within them as well. The OST of this game will always be an example of perfect immersion. Circle in the dark. The battle may yet be won.
Bernard Tousin between the tone of the music, the tracks title itself, and a lot of the extremely well-written lines the heroes speak when you go to rest, the whole camping segment invokes a lot of powerful emotion. 10/10
Personally, I just love imagining the characters sitting around in a camp near to all eldritch horrors you see in the last area of the game (if you camp in the Lighting the Way). This just makes the give off that incredible heroic vibe, no matter the difficult times, no matter the cost, no matter WHAT they are against, which makes this track so good.
I'm in a particularly depressive spell in my life and the first time I heard this music was... strange. I felt relieved, and anxious at the same time. You all have mentioned how it feels as if you're in the eye of the storm and that's exactly right. I know that I have a long way to go for where I want myself to be. At the same time, I remember where I've been. I remember where I come from and what I overcame to get this far. I remember that once upon a time I doubted myself and that I would even last this long without keeling over in despair. But I became a soldier (literally) and I pressed onward learning who I am and what I can accomplish. This life is a twisted game that will never end. You just learn to twist and turn along it's crooked path. The road forward smooths over, eventually. Once you get to that point, you'll know that it was all worth it.
I feel this way too, as much as life can make you feel hopeless, I'd always tell myself "There's always a light at the end of a dark tunnel." to push on through a difficult time. Despite how hard these tough times can be for you, I hope and assure that things will always get better :)
For me it feels like knowing the chances of your success is minimal, but you're going anyway. Me for example at normal difficulty, I have only lost 2 heroes in 10 weeks. Because I rather bring them back, treat everything then try again. The music can be about that. Not knowing what will happen, desolation rather than hopelessness. My depression feels eases when I see Giger's art, when I write my dark stories or when I see or hear dark fantasy. Funny to say the least. Giger said he used to exorcize his problems with his arts. While it is viral for some other people to get infected, it can help to cure others, because I get it.
this song make my feeling hopeless and fated because on this moment 1:35 my (hopeless) leper badly hurt i want heal him he says "If you want to help, just end my suffering" and sometime on this moment crusader says "Leave me alone. The others need aid more than I"
I don't like paladins and clerics in normal fantasy. It feels like all the talk about righteousness and higher purpose, in a world filled with wonder and magic, is just sanctimonious preaching. But this game has you facing the risk of death in every corner, the fear of a futile, awful death, and your own weakness of spirit turning you against yourself, your friends and your mission. Then things spiral out of control, the others are succumbing to their own inner demons and then, surrounded by darkness and chaos, this frail little human crusader holds his head proud and shines like the sun. Courage matters only when fear is felt and understood. The light seems more beautiful when darkness looms on the horizon. The crusader is my favorite class in this game by far. And in the same way, the peacefulness of this little camp shines through the horrors and the dangers
idk what the ending to this game is but i hope that all the suffering my heroes are going through right now is worth something more than gold ever could
Well sorta Is like a both bittersweet but also not much nihilistic ending I mean you can see the ending in two ways: Either the nihilistic way, or a more hope at the end of the tunnel way (trying to not spoil anything)
Ah yes, getting severely roughed up after a hard battle, too scared to hedge your bets on not being ambushed by the worst the dungeon has to offer, so you camp, heal up, let everybody get a chance to eat, destress, and just prepare themselves. Then, you set out, ready once more to finish the expedition. This game really managed to hammer home the feeling of respite - a chance to steel oneself against the oncoming horrors.
Sure, you may feel relaxed while you camp, but do not get too relaxed, for you still had a long way to go, and you still....have to worry about the ambushes
You know that being able to rest doesn't mean safety, there are all kinds of unimaginable monsters outside, every day is like the last day, if this camping moment can be a little longer......Especially when someone is already in affliction and complaining
